'Habitual' drug dealer caught with £1,740 cash in pillowcase

Prosecutor Nik Strobl told Swansea Crown Court that police attended an address on College Park in Neyland on March 27. A person inside was found in possession of cannabis, and Marcel Mullings was found asleep in one of the rooms. Mullings was taken to hospital as it was suspected he had stashed drugs 'internally', Mr Strobl said. For the latest crime and court news for west Wales, you can join our Facebook group here. A search of the house uncovered weighing scales, £1,740 in cash hidden inside a pillowcase, snap bags, and two mobile phones which had been snapped in half and thrown behind a sofa. Despite the damage to the phones, officers were able to establish that a SIM card linked to phone number which operated as a drugs line had been used in each of them, as well as in the defendant's personal phone. Mullings, 23, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine and cannabis and possession of criminal property. The court heard that he had previous convictions for possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine and perverting the course of justice in October 2020 and possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine in May 2023. Mullings was out on licence from his previous sentence at the time of this latest offending. 'He is under no illusions as to the seriousness of his offending,' said Caitlin Brazel, in mitigation. 'The severity of it has now sunk in.' Ms Brazel said Mullings' guilty pleas were evidence of his remorse and taking accountability for his offending. She added that the defendant was 'a relatively young man' and now recognised that he faced a choice about the direction the rest of his life was going to take. Marcel Mullings has been jailed for his involvement in trafficking cocaine and cannabis. (Image: Dyfed-Powys Police) 'He has spent most of his adult life dealing Class A drugs,' said Judge Huw Rees, referencing the defendant's previous convictions in the Cambridgeshire and Staffordshire areas. 'You are a habitual supplier of serious drugs which cause problems in society all over the country. 'If you carry on in this way, the sentences will increase. 'You have the benefit of youth on your side. 'You are simply wasting your youthful years in custody.' Judge Rees sentenced Mullings to the mandatory minimum sentence of seven years, minus the defendant's discount for his guilty pleas. This totalled a 2,045-day sentence – approximately five years and eight months. He made a forfeiture order for the £1,740 cash, and a forfeiture and destruction order for Mullings' mobile phone. The Crown Prosecution Service confirmed it would not make an application under the Proceeds of Crime Act against the defendant.

Titans agree to terms with sixth-round RB Kalel Mullings

The Titans have agreed to terms with sixth-round running back Kalel Mullings, Aaron Wilson of KPRC reports. Mullings will receive a four-year, $4.385 million deal. The Titans made him the 188th overall pick, and he will join Tony Pollard, Tyjae Spears and Julius Chestnut in the running backs room. Mullings will wear No. 28, the same number Chris Johnson wore during a six-year career in Tennessee when he rushed for 7,965 yards and scored 50 rushing touchdowns. Mullings is familiar with the Titans' recent history at the position. 'Derrick Henry is a future Hall of Fame running back, amazing player,' Mullings said, via Jim Wyatt of the team website. 'But it's funny, when I was 5, 6 years old playing Madden, Madden 09, Madden 10, Chris Johnson was a cheat code. He was my favorite player and just being able to follow in those footsteps and put on that baby blue is amazing.' At Michigan, Mullings ran for 948 yards and 12 touchdowns in 12 games in 2024. He finished his college career with 1,210 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on 235 carries.

2025 NFL draft: Tennessee Titans select RB Kalel Mullings

2025 NFL draft: Tennessee Titans select RB Kalel Mullings The Tennessee Titans' final pick of the 2025 NFL draft comes in the sixth round with the 188th overall pick. With that selection, the Titans selected running back Kalel Mullings from Michigan. Mullings was part of the Michigan Wolverines for five seasons. In 2020, he was available as a reserve running back for six games and in 2021, he was available as a reserve linebacker for 13 games. In 2022, he appeared in 13 games as both a linebacker and a running back. In 2023, he played in 13 games as a reserve running back, and in 2024, he received Honorable Mention All-Big Ten, leading the Wolverines with 948 rushing yards and 12 rushing touchdowns. While not a well-known player, Mullings can clearly play on either side of the ball. As a running back, his defensive mind aids his blocking ability, and as a linebacker, his offensive mind can seek out his opponents with ease. He will join Tony Pollard, Tyjae Spears, Julius Chestnut, and Bryce Oliver in the Titans' running backs room in 2025.

Kalel Mullings selected by Tennessee Titans in sixth round of 2025 NFL draft

Kalel Mullings selected by Tennessee Titans in sixth round of 2025 NFL draft When Kalel Mullings committed to Michigan football, he was supposed to be the next great Wolverines linebacker. However, it didn't exactly work out that way for him. Mullings spent his first few years working on the defensive side of the ball for the maize and blue before playing dual duty in 2022 -- splitting time between linebacker and running back. When Blake Corum's season was ended due to injury, Mullings went over to offense full-time, playing running back. It didn't start off well. Despite throwing a no-look pass to tight end Luke Schoonmaker against Ohio State that year, Mullings had a big miscommunication on the goal line with quarterback J.J. McCarthy in the College Football Playoff, and he coughed up the ball. At the time, Michigan fans wanted him to go back on defense. However, they're glad he didn't. In 2023 and 2024, Mullings shined in his running back role. Expected to be a backup this past year, he wrested away the starting job from Donovan Edwards. And now, like his predecessor Hassan Haskins, he's been drafted by the Tennessee Titans, who picked him in the sixth round with the 188th overall pick. Mullings led the Wolverines with 185 carries for 948 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2024, adding to the 36 carries and 222 yards the year before. Mullings had three rushing touchdowns in his limited time in 2022. With his selection, Michigan football has had six players selected thus far, with Mason Graham going at No. 5 overall, Colston Loveland at No. 10, Kenneth Grant at No. 13, Will Johnson at No. 47, and now Mullings at No. 188.

Vikings host notable Big Ten running back ahead of NFL Draft

Vikings host notable Big Ten running back ahead of NFL Draft The Minnesota Vikings are heavy into the NFL Draft prep as they are continuing to host NFL Draft prospects as they get closer to the event. The league's annual selection meeting is just nine days away and the Vikings are set to host a notable prospect to work them out and get to know them better. The team will be hosting someone that their franchise quarterback, J.J. McCarthy, should be familiar with in Kalel Mullings. The Michigan running back spent five seasons with the team and waited for his redshirt senior season to be the guy to lead the Wolverine backfield. When he took over the offense, Mullings ran for 948 yards and 12 touchdowns. Most notably, he ran for 116 yards on 32 attempts against the Ohio State Buckeyes in their season finale upset. Mullings would most likely be a day-three pick for the team and serve as a rotational option behind Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason. He could be a longterm play for the team but for now he has shown he is okay waiting for his opportunity and staying ready in the process.
