Krunal Pandya scripts HISTORY in IPL 2025 final, becomes first player ever to...

Krunal Pandya. New Delhi: Krunal Pandya played a pivotal role in the Royal Challengers Bangalore's first IPL victory. RCB defeated Punjab Kings by six runs in the 2025 final held at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. Krunal Pandya's exceptional performance led the Bengaluru franchise to victory in the final match. His impressive bowling figures of 2 for 17, which included the key dismissals of Prabhsimran Singh and Josh Inglis, were crucial in defending their 190-run total. Pandya has received the Man of the Match award in an IPL final for the second time. His previous win came in the 2017 final, where his strong all-around performance secured Mumbai Indians' one-run victory over Rising Pune Super Giants. Krunal Pandya's 47-run contribution off 38 balls was crucial in Mumbai Indians' reaching a final score of 129, following a precarious position of 79/7. His economical bowling figures of 4-0-31 further aided his team's performance. Krunal Pandya is the first player globally to receive the Man of the Match award in two separate IPL finals. Krunal and Hardik Pandya are the first brothers to each win the Man of the Match award in an IPL final. Hardik previously received the award in the 2022 final, leading the Gujarat Titans to victory with a strong all-around performance of 34 runs and 3 wickets while conceding only 17 runs. This game, like the current one, was also played in Ahmedabad. Krunal Pandya and Hardik Pandya have both achieved significant success in the IPL. Krunal has four IPL titles, three with Mumbai Indians (2017, 2019, 2020). Hardik has five titles, including one with Mumbai Indians in 2015 and subsequently leading Gujarat Titans to victory. Krunal Pandya received the Player of the Match award in three games this season, notably the season opener versus Kolkata Knight Riders and a later match against Delhi Capitals.

Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah, a right-arm fast bowler known for his mastery across all three formats, recently etched his name in IPL history. During the 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium, he surpassed Sri Lankan legend and MI pace spearhead Lasith Malinga to become Mumbai Indians' highest wicket-taker in the tournament, with an impressive tally of 171 wickets. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Cost Of Amusement Park Equipment From Mexico Might Surprise You - See Tips Amusement Park Equipment | search ads Click Here Undo Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par marks his much-anticipated return to the big screen after Laal Singh Chaddha. Tilak Varma to Reece Topley: Nita Ambani's MI might release these star players after IPL 2025

In this collection of pictures we shall take a look at the list of players who might be released by Nita Ambani's Mumbai Indians after IPL 2025. Mumbai Indians' journey in IPL 2025 ended with Qualifier 2. The Mumbai team won its last title in the year 2020. In such a situation, Mumbai Indians can release some players before the 2026 season. These may include players who did not get many opportunities in IPL 2025. Therefore, the team can consider releasing them. Mujeeb Ur Rahman was included in the team after Allah Ghazanfar was injured. But he got a chance to play only one match. He could not fit in the team combination. Therefore, Mumbai may release him before IPL 2026. Satyanarayan Raju also got a chance to play only two matches in IPL 2025. He was behind bowlers like Ashwini Kumar and Corbin Bosch in the team. Raju can also be released from Mumbai. Raj Angad Bawa is an all-rounder. He got a chance to play two matches in IPL 2025. But he did not get a chance to bat or bowl in any match. He was also part of the team in the eliminator match against Gujarat. But he did not get a chance to bat or bowl. Mumbai may release him too. Reece Topley did not get a chance to show his skills for Mumbai Indians this season. Trent Boult and Corbin Bosch were ahead of him. He only played one match that is because Deepak Chahar's injury. Tilak Varma is among the players who haven't lived up to expectations this season. The young talent is often viewed as a potential all-format mainstay for India. However, IPL form has consistently influenced T20I team selections, and his underwhelming showing this year has sparked discussions about his future with the Mumbai Indians heading into the 2026 season.

"Should Have Grabbed The Bull By The Horns": Hardik Pandya Criticised For Bowling Call In IPL 2025 Qualifier

Hardik Pandya is facing heavy criticism for his bowling decisions during Mumbai Indians' IPL 2025 Qualifier 2 clash against Punjab Kings. MI, defending 203 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, crashed out of the tournament after PBKS chased down the target with ease. What surprised many was Hardik's choice to not complete his full quota of four overs, despite bowling well and taking a key wicket. Former SRH coach Tom Moody was among those who questioned the MI captain's decision-making during the high-pressure game. Hardik bowled just two overs in the match, giving away 19 runs and dismissing Josh Inglis. He could've had another wicket too, but Trent Boult dropped Nehal Wadhera, denying Hardik a second. Despite this promising start, the MI skipper decided against bowling himself again — a move that left experts baffled. 'Hardik should have had a two-for. That second over, that catch that you'd expect Trent Boult to take 99 times out of 100… he fresh-aired it. Not even a firm glove on it. He was executing what was required on that surface,' Moody said on ESPNCricinfo. Moody felt Hardik needed to show more responsibility as captain. 'He should have come back and grabbed the bull by the horns,' he added. What made the decision more puzzling was that Hardik handed the ball to England pacer Reece Topley — who was playing his first game of IPL 2025. Topley struggled badly, conceding 40 runs in just three overs, and looked far from match-ready. 'Topley looked like a bowler that was conditioned for nets but way off the mark for real, high-pressure, competitive cricket,' said Moody. 'It's tough to come in cold and deliver under pressure, but the blame lies with the team management for the timing of the selection.' Mumbai also underutilised Mitchell Santner. The New Zealand spinner bowled only two overs for 15 runs despite being economical. Moody believed Hardik avoided using Santner due to Shreyas Iyer being at the crease — a move aimed at avoiding a bad match-up. However, the move didn't work. Shreyas Iyer went on to score a brilliant unbeaten 87 off 41 balls, steering Punjab to the final where they'll face Royal Challengers Bengaluru. While Mumbai's turnaround this season was impressive, questions around Hardik's leadership in crunch moments continue to grow louder.

Rohit Sharma Bows Down To Arjun Tendulkar In Fun Gesture, Video Goes Viral

Last Updated: Mumbai Indians' Rohit Sharma shared a fun moment with Arjun Tendulkar as the team departed after their IPL 2025 campaign ended. Mumbai Indians' Rohit Sharma was seen shaking hands and bowing down in a hilarious gesture with Arjun Tendulkar, with the youngster also having a smile on his face, as the squad departed from Ahmedabad to their respective cities as their IPL 2025 campaign came to an end. Tasked with defending a formidable 204, Mumbai were undone by a Shreyas Iyer masterclass that propelled Punjab to their second Indian Premier League final. Maintaining their tradition of slow starts, MI found themselves stumbling this season with just one victory in their first four matches. Led by the core of Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit, ace India pacer Jasprit Bumrah and skipper Hardik Pandya, among others, Mumbai stitched together a six-game winning streak that not just dragged them into the playoffs but revived belief in a sixth title push as well. After the team's exit, clips of Mumbai cricketers parting ways at the airport have gone viral, especially one moment between Rohit and Arjun, which went viral on social media. Watch the video here: Rohit endured a tough start to IPL 2025 but found his form with a brilliant unbeaten 76 against the Chennai Super Kings. Rohit was the Player of the Match in Mumbai's Eliminator victory over the Gujarat Titans, where he smacked a terrific 81 off 50 balls to guide the team to a huge score of 228/5. But unlike that match, Rohit (4) couldn't capitalise on a reprieve when Azmatullah Omarzai (2/43) dropped a tough opportunity running behind from short third off Kyle Jamieson (1/30) in the third over. Unfazed by the blow, Mumbai motored on to reach a scoring rate of 10 runs an over, which they maintained through the course of the innings. Tilak Varma smacked his second delivery down the ground for a six while Jonny Bairstow unleashed powerful strokes on either side of the wickets as they added 51 runs for the second wicket in a little under six overs to stage a robust recovery.
