PCC disciplinary panel to probe Rajgopal's anti-CM jibe
Hyderabad: A day after Munugode MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy made allegations against Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy about dearth of funds and the 'indifference' meted out to his constituency, PCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud gave the green light to the party's disciplinary action committee (DAC) to deeply examine the issue. The PCC chief said that the committee was tasked to first examine the context in which the MLA had spoken before initiating any further action. Speaking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday, Goud said that the matter would be examined 'thoroughly' by the panel, which would be headed by Mallu Ravi. 'I believe he was talking about lack of funds to his constituency, when compared to funds allocated to constituencies of Ministers,' Goud opined. Incidentally, the MLA's outbursts on the Independence Day were not the first time he was speaking so, but the way he used the public event allegedly to 'tarnish' Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's image did not go down well with the party leadership. The MLA had on several earlier occasions accused Revanth Reddy of failure to fulfil his promise of accommodating him in the cabinet, squarely blaming the present administration for delays in development projects pertaining to Munugode. In his address at Ellagiri village in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district on Friday night, while unveiling the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Rajgopal Reddy expressed frustration over the stalled works in his constituency. "You take the posts, but do you also take the money? Take the positions but pay the contractors who have done the work. Don't render injustice to the people of Munugode," he said. 'The contractor is refusing to continue the works on the Veligonda–Choutuppal road project because bills have not been cleared. These clearances require the Chief Minister's approval. That is why I raised this concern directly to him. I am neither criticising the Chief Minister nor the party,' he clarified. His behaviour now follows a familiar pattern, one that has embarrassed the party leaders. After each attack on Revanth Reddy for denying him a cabinet berth, the MLA concludes his speeches by pressing for development funds for Munugode. This repeated strategy has exposed his disenchantment and isolation within the party. Meanwhile, the disciplinary committee is likely to seek his 'explanation' on the matter in the next few days.

Congress MLA Rajagopal Reddy slams CM Revanth; meets DK Shiv Kumar amid rift talk
HYDERABAD: Moments after publicly denouncing Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's alleged remarks against digital media journalists, Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy met senior party leader and Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shiv Kumar here on Wednesday. Although the purpose of the meeting remains unclear, it assumes political significance as Rajagopal Reddy has been openly critical of the chief minister in recent days, posing a challenge to the party's internal cohesion. Addressing digital media representatives at his residence, the Munugode MLA advised the chief minister to let his work speak louder than words. 'There is a need to change your language and behaviour. Speak less, and allow other Cabinet ministers to express themselves. Maintain a calm and composed demeanour as you will be the chief minister for the next three years. Based on the people's mandate, the Congress high command will decide the next chief minister,' he said. Rajagopal Reddy also urged the Revanth Reddy-led government to act against former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao based on the Ghose Commission of Inquiry report on the Kaleshwaram project, instead of engaging in political rhetoric.

Stung by denial of berth, Rajgopal Reddy holds secret parleys with DKS
Hyderabad: Even as the Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues remained in Delhi as part of 'Chalo Delhi' campaign, the meeting between Karnataka Dy CM D K Shivakumar and MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy has sparked significant political interest back in the State. The meeting comes amidst latter's expressions of discontent with the Congress leadership and the CM A Revanth Reddy for their failure to give him cabinet berth. In the wake of the development, Shivakumar is also likely to meet with CM Revanth Reddy soon. The Munugode MLA and younger brother of R&B Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy met Shivakumar in a private hotel on Wednesday. This meeting is being viewed as significant in light of Rajagopal Reddy's discontent within the party and the potential for internal discussions or even damage control efforts within the Congress in Telangana. During the meeting, the MLA reportedly reminded Shivakumar about a past promise of a position in the State cabinet, which he reiterated was a key reason for his return to the Congress party. He urged the Karnataka's Deputy CM to convey this issue to the party high command, expressing frustration over being overlooked for a cabinet berth despite earlier assurances. In recent days, Rajagopal Reddy, known for his outspoken stance, has upped his ante and has repeatedly criticised Revanth Reddy. He expressed dissatisfaction over the fact that even leaders who joined the party after him were given ministerial posts, while he was ignored. He even went as far as hinting at resignation from his MLA position, accusing the Congress high command of neglect. As the issue has raised considerable concerns within the party, the PCC's Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) also decided to invite the MLA for deliberations and to resolve the matter. Responding to the comments by Rajgopal Reddy, the chairman of DAC Mallu Ravi said that it was not appropriate for MLA to speak openly about the internal affairs of the party and expressed optimism that the party high command will resolve such issues. He said that he will meet Rajgopal Reddy and try to resolve the issue positively. Earlier during the day, as part of continuing his rant, the MLA has asked the CM as to what action the State government initiated against AP-based contractors involved in Kaleshwaram. Launching a direct attack, the MLA accused CM of delaying action under the guise of investigations and commissions.

Midnight demolition sparks political outrage
Nalgonda: Tensions flared up in Chundur town of Nalgonda district after municipal officials carried out a midnight demolition of a building reportedly owned by former Municipal Chairman Tokala Venkanna. The building was torn down using JCBs in the dark of the Tuesday night, triggering widespread criticism and allegations of political vendetta. Venkanna condemned the action, accusing municipal authorities of acting in a biased and arbitrary manner. He claimed that road widening and demolition notices were being selectively issued only to non-ruling party members, while structures belonging to ruling party supporters were either ignored or measured leniently. Questionable road measurements raise eyebrows In a scathing criticism of the ongoing road expansion works, Venkanna pointed out glaring inconsistencies in road width—78 feet in some areas, 85 in others, and even 95 feet in a few places. He alleged that these discrepancies reflect favoritism and political targeting. Vowing to challenge the injustice, he announced his intention to approach the High Court, asserting his faith in the judicial system. Political vendetta, cry BRS leaders The controversy deepened when former Munugode MLA Kusukuntla Prabhakar Reddy visited the demolition site the following day. Accompanied by BRS party leaders and local supporters, he labeled the act as a deliberate political vendetta, allegedly masterminded by current MLA Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy. Prabhakar Reddy accused the ruling MLA of failing to secure even a single rupee of development funds for Chundur. In contrast, he touted his own track record of bringing Rs50 crore in municipal grants during his tenure. Bring development, not demolitions: BRS to Rajgopal Reddy BRS leaders used the incident to challenge Rajgopal Reddy's leadership. 'If you have the courage, bring development to Chundur instead of targeting opposition workers,' said Prabhakar Reddy, accusing the MLA of misusing his power for political revenge. With legal challenges, public protests, and mounting political friction on the horizon, the midnight demolition may well be the beginning of a larger showdown in Chundur's civic and political landscape.
