Congress MLA Rajagopal Reddy slams CM Revanth; meets DK Shiv Kumar amid rift talk
Although the purpose of the meeting remains unclear, it assumes political significance as Rajagopal Reddy has been openly critical of the chief minister in recent days, posing a challenge to the party's internal cohesion.
Addressing digital media representatives at his
residence, the Munugode MLA advised the chief minister to let his work speak louder than words.
'There is a need to change your language and behaviour. Speak less, and allow other Cabinet ministers to express themselves. Maintain a calm and composed demeanour as you will be the chief minister for the next three years. Based on the people's mandate, the Congress high command will decide the next chief minister,' he said.
Rajagopal Reddy also urged the Revanth Reddy-led government to act against former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao based on the Ghose Commission of Inquiry report on the Kaleshwaram project, instead of engaging in political rhetoric.

Alluding to Bollywood movies, the Congress stepped up its campaign against alleged "vote theft" on Saturday by releasing a new video titled "laapata vote" to highlight the claim. Posting the video on X, former Congress president Rahul Gandhi said, "'Chori chori, chupke chupke' no more, the public has woken up." His party posted the video on its official social media account and said the "theft of your vote is theft of rights". "Let's raise our voice against vote theft together and save our rights," the party said. In the video, a man is seen pleading in the police station that his "vote has been stolen" and tells the officials there that "lakhs of votes are being stolen", leaving the police personnel wondering if their vote has also been "stolen". The minute-long video is titled 'laapata vote' with 'ladies' cut out from between, a reference to the Kiran Rao-directed movie 'Laapata Ladies'. The Congress released a video depicting how fake votes were being cast on Wednesday, too. Gandhi had shared that minute-long video and said, "Aapke vote ki chori aapke adhikar ki chori, aapki pehchaan ki chori hai (Theft of your vote is theft of your rights, theft of your identity)." That video depicts a family entering a polling booth with two people telling them that their votes have already been cast, and it ends with the two persons casting fake votes, showing a thumbs up to an officer sitting at the table with an 'election chori aayog' display plate on his table. The Congress has claimed that "vote chori" was a "do-or-die" issue for it, and announced a roadmap to take its allegations to the people through various activities. The opposition party has also launched a web portal for people to register and demand accountability from the poll panel against what it called "vote chori", and express support for the demand for digital voter rolls.

Rahul Gandhi dishonest, misleading people on SIR, claims Giriraj Singh
Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh on Saturday slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for "misleading" people on the Special Intensive Revision of the draft voter rolls in Bihar. During a visit to his parliamentary constituency, Begusarai, the Union Minister said, "Rahul Gandhi is claiming that the names of 65 lakh people have been removed from the voter list, but he has not even filed affidavits of 65,000 people in the Supreme Court. He only does politics of lies and nonsense." The Union Minister compared Rahul Gandhi to a habitual liar, saying, "First he lies and then apologises. This time, too, he will apologise. He is trying to spread anarchy in the country." Taking a dig at Rahul Gandhi's recent school visit in Karnataka, Singh said, "He was teaching in the school, but the real question is - when will he give the affidavit sought by the Election Commission?" He alleged that the Congress party has historically weakened democratic institutions. "Your party has been a party that has throttled democracy. You do not obey the orders of the Supreme Court or the High Court. You live with a dictatorial mentality," Giriraj Singh remarked. Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Minister Singh described him as a "messiah of the poor" while calling Rahul Gandhi a politician "engaged only in lies and vote bank politics". Recalling the Emergency imposed by Indira Gandhi, he said, "Rahul Gandhi's grandmother too did not obey the order of the Supreme Court and imposed Emergency in the country. These people are family thugs and are now coming to Bihar to cheat the voters. Their intention is to secure the votes of Rohingyas and Bangladeshis so that their politics continues." Giriraj Singh's statement comes ahead of Rahul Gandhi's Vote Adhikar Yatra, starting from Sasaram on Sunday.
