SalamAir expands fleet with new Airbus A321neo aircraft
Muscat – SalamAir, the Sultanate of Oman's budget carrier, has announced the arrival of its newest Airbus A321neo aircraft, named 'Mutrah' after a public vote by guests and followers on Instagram. The arrival of this aircraft brings SalamAir's fleet to 14 aircraft, underscoring its ongoing commitment to enhancing operational efficiency, improving customer experience, and reducing the environmental impact of its operations. The aircraft features advanced, highly efficient CFM LEAP-1A engines, which contribute to a 20% reduction in fuel consumption per seat and significantly reduced carbon dioxide emissions. The aircraft also complies with global environmental standards, achieving a 50% reduction in nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions and a noise reduction of more than 15 decibels compared to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standard. The aircraft features 212 seats with a modern interior design, including USB charging ports in every seat, allowing our valued customers to enjoy a comfortable and smooth travel experience. The aircraft's operational range reaches 4,000 nautical miles, giving Salam Air greater flexibility in operating medium- and long-haul flights. 'The addition of the new A321neo to our fleet is an important step in enhancing our operational capacity in preparation for the peak season,' said Adrian Hamilton Mans, CEO of SalamAir . 'This aircraft gives us greater operational flexibility, enhances our ability to meet flight schedules, and improves our operational KPI.' He added, 'With the addition of this aircraft and another expected later this month, our average fleet age will be reduced from 5.6 years to approximately 4.8 years, making us one of the youngest airlines in the region. This is in line with our strategy of focusing on enhancing operational efficiency and reliability, while delivering added value to our guests.' The addition of the A321neo aircraft further strengthens SalamAir's comprehensive strategy, which focuses on fleet modernization, network expansion, and operational efficiency. With a newer, more efficient fleet, the airline is fully prepared to explore new markets, increase flight frequencies to high-demand destinations, and further contribute to the growth of the aviation and tourism sectors in the Sultanate of Oman.

Awareness workshops target students to implement continuous healthy lifestyles
Muscat: Within the Wali of Mutrah Office's interest in promoting health prevention and positive behaviours in young people, the Health Committee in the Wali Office, in cooperation with several health and community entities, conducted the Mutrah Summer Health Forum from 13 to 17 July 2025 at Majan University College, targeting schools' students in Muscat Governorate. This forum is part of the 'Together in Mutrah for a Continuous Partnership' initiative, stressing the integration between institutions and entities concerned with health and development, and achieving the principle of community partnership to develop a healthy and aware society. This forum includes a series of training workshops and awareness lectures over five days, involving health institutions, community organisations and volunteer teams to inspire students to follow healthy lifestyles and promote early prevention. On the first day, a team from Khoula Hospital and the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority conducted a first aid workshop, where students were trained on rapid response methods and dealing with injuries and emergencies. This forum will continue on the second and third days with awareness seminars on chronic and genetic diseases, oral and dental health, food safety and nutrition, with the participation of specialists from Al Nahdha Hospital and Al Mina Health Centre. As well as, implementing a discussion on child protection in collaboration with the Oman Women's Association in Mutrah, and a lecture on the importance of pre-marriage screening in collaboration with Al Nahdha Hospital, to promote early screening and family planning. The forum delivered skill workshops for first cycle students to develop their health and behavioural skills. On the fourth day, participants will visit the Hospitality Institute in Mutrah, consisting of a lecture on healthy nutrition and a 'Little Chef' event. As well as, an educational workshop on smoking and its harmful effects, to raise awareness regarding the significance of stopping harmful habits. The forum will conclude on its fifth day through a lecture on psychological first aid, an Oman Colours Workshop, and honouring participants and supporters to appreciate their contributions to be the successful forum. The forum offered health corners provided by numerous contributing entities. They consist of tests for chronic diseases, psychological and behavioural consultations. Besides a corner on elderly care and children's rights, to promote health culture among students and their families. Abdul Hamid bin Abdulrahman Al Kharousi, Deputy Wali of Mutrah, confirmed the great significance of community partnership and constructive integration between various health, community and voluntary institutions as a cornerstone to achieving sustainable development and enhancing the quality of life. He explained that implementing the Mutrah Summer Health Forum follows the 'Together in Mutrah for a Continuous Partnership' initiative. It aims to unite efforts, gathering specialists and those interested in health and development, to be a source of exchanging experiences and health awareness. Thus advancing a conscious, healthy and cohesive society. He indicated that this event expresses the vision of the Wali Office to promote positive values and behaviours in young people, founding prevention and early health education, to raise generations able to practice a healthy and balanced lifestyle that benefits the individual and society. The Deputy Wali of Mutrah praised the efforts of institutions, entities and individuals who contributed to this forum's success. He confirmed the achievements reflect the spirit of cooperation and cohesion and effective community partnership. He remarked on excellent initiatives that enhance Mutrah as one of the most progressive cultural and healthy wilayats within the nation. He encouraged joint efforts to work together to fulfil the community aspirations and achieve the purposes of sustainable development.

Omran Group, Oman's leading entity for tourism development, has invited tenders from top global consultancy groups for design and supervision of utilities infrastructure and detailed design services for its prime development Souq Al Mina – Mutrah Waterfront. Souq Al Mina, a new market district next to the cruise ship harbour, is a central element of the new Muttrah project. One of city's most popular tourist destinations, Muttrah is known for its traditional souq, ancient mosque and seaport.
