Bengaluru's Yellow Line Metro inauguration

KNOW YOUR SERVICE ■ From Monday to Saturday, Yellow Line trains will start at 6.30am from Delta Electronics Bommasandra & at 7.10am from RV Road. For security reasons, BMRCL shut stations between RV Road and Lalbagh, while police diverted traffic from Jayadeva towards RV Road, affecting buses to Banashankari. "Seven of our family members boarded a bus from Marathahalli to Banashankari, but after Jayadeva it was diverted to Jayanagar," said Harsha D, a commuter. Residents of Marenahalli also struggled to access the main road. The diversions caused congestion on several stretches, and police temporarily closed the double-decker flyover from Ragigudda to Silk Board. ----- PINK LINE DEADLINE PUSHED TO SEPT 2026 The 21km Kalena Agrahara-Nagawara Pink Line of Namma Metro will now be fully operational only by Sept 2026, according to BMRCL. The line will open in two stages — a 7.5km elevated stretch from Kalena Agrahara to Tavarekere by March 2026, followed by the 13.8km underground section to Nagawara six months later. The elevated section's opening will also allow full-scale operations at the Jayadeva interchange station, linking the Yellow and Pink lines. Phase II of Namma Metro covers 75km of expansion, of which 54km are already running. Once the Pink Line is completed, Bengaluru's Metro network will approach 120km.
