Planning to fly without a Real ID in Wisconsin? Here's what to bring to the airport
After years of postponements, the deadline to get a Real ID in Wisconsin has come and gone. If you still haven't gotten yours, you'll need another approved form of ID to fly domestically, or you may have to complete additional security screenings at the airport. Regular driver's licenses are no longer valid forms of ID to fly domestically or visit federal buildings following the May 7, 2025 Real ID deadline. Here's what to expect and how to prepare if you're flying without a Real ID. If you don't have a Real ID, you can still fly domestically and visit certain federal facilities if you have another form of ID approved by the Transportation Security Administration. If you don't have another TSA-approved form of ID, you may be asked to complete "an identity verification process" at the airport, according to the TSA. TSA officers will collect information including your name and current address, and if they can confirm your identity, you will be allowed to enter the security checkpoint. There, you may face additional screening. If you do not cooperate with the verification process or if officers cannot verify your identity, then you will not be allowed into the security checkpoint. Other TSA-approved alternatives include: U.S. passport or U.S. passport card State-issued enhanced driver's license DHS trusted traveler cards (GlobalEntry, NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST) U.S. Department of Defense ID (including dependents' IDs) Permanent resident card Border crossing card Acceptable photo ID issued by a federally recognized tribal nation HSPD-12 PIV card Foreign government-issued passport Canadian provincial driver's license or Indian and Northern Affairs Canada card Transportation worker identification credential (TWIC) U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Employment Authorization Card (I-766) U.S. Merchant Mariner Credential Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC) The TSA does not require children under 18 to provide identification when traveling domestically. A Real ID is a more secure version of your driver's license, marked by a star in the upper right corner for a Wisconsin ID. The switch is part of the Real ID act, passed by Congress in 2005, which required the federal government to create standards for identification, such as driver's licenses, according to the Department of Homeland Security. Under the law, ID cards have to meet certain standards for purposes like flying domestically or visiting federal buildings and military bases. To obtain a Real ID in Wisconsin, you'll need to go to your local DMV. You can visit the DMV's website at to start filling the necessary forms. The price to get a Real ID in Wisconsin is the same as getting or renewing a regular driver's license — $34. A regular photo ID costs $28. Opengame Foundation Completes Public Sale of CROSS Token, Burns Unsold Supply to Ensure Transparency and Value Stability ZUG, CH / ACCESS Newswire / May 28, 2025 / Opengame Foundation (OGF), the non-profit organization behind the open blockchain gaming platform CROSS, has officially concluded its public token sale for the CROSS utility token. The public sale, which ran for one week starting May 15, drew attention across the Web3 industry for its unique commitment to fairness and transparency. Tokens were offered at a fixed price of $0.10, the same as in the private sale, ensuring that all participants-whether early backers or new supporters-had access under identical conditions. In total, 96 million CROSS tokens, representing 9.6% of the platform's total supply of 1 billion, were made available during the public sale on a first-come, first-served basis. Approximately 92% of the allocation was sold by the end of the sale period. The remaining unsold tokens will be permanently burned-a move designed to reinforce both the integrity of the token's value and the foundation's long-term commitment to transparency. Henry Chang, CEO of NEXUS and key contributor to the CROSS ecosystem, described the initiative as 'an unprecedented experiment.' In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote: 'Another dot, placed. We've now completed an unprecedented experiment-offering the same price to private and public investors, including the founder and team ourselves. I appreciate the support and investment from all who believed in us. Time will reveal how this unfolds. As we head toward the next milestone, TGE, we'll keep doing what we've always done: Build-so that one day, we can connect the dots backward.' Planning to fly without a Real ID license? You'll need one of these documents
The deadline to obtain a Real ID-compliant license before TSA screeners require them at airports and some federal facilities passed weeks ago. If you still haven't upgraded, you could be kept from traveling or you'll face additional airport screening, but there are other options. It can take up to four weeks to receive a new Michigan license after filling out paperwork through the Michigan Secretary of State's office, which means you can't ask for one and receive it the same day. Instead, you will have to rely on other forms of approved identification. Even if you don't have an alternative approved form, TSA officers may simply ask you to complete an identity verification process that includes collecting information, such as your name and current address to confirm your identity. If your identity is confirmed, you will be allowed to enter the security screening checkpoint, where you may be subject to additional screening. If you don't have one of the approved alternatives, you need to take steps to obtain a Real ID compliant license or one of the other ID forms. Teens/ children typically don't need identification to fly with a parent or guardian. "Transportation Security Administration does not require children under age 18 to provide identification when traveling with a companion within the United States," according to the Michigan Department of State. Here's what to know about Real ID alternatives. If you have a passport, you can use that instead of a REAL ID to board domestic flights, according to the Department of Homeland Security. If you want the convenience of using your driver's license or identification card to board domestic flights, then you'll need to get a REAL ID. Passports (or passport cards in some cases) are always required for international travel. Routine passport applications take 4 to 6 weeks to process. Expedited applications take 2 to 3 weeks. Urgent requests can be completed in person in 14 days. TSA-approved Real ID alternatives include: U.S. passport U.S. passport card Michigan enhanced driver's license DHS trusted traveler cards (Global Entry, NEXUS, SENTRI, FAST) U.S. Department of Defense ID, including IDs issued to dependents Border crossing card An acceptable photo ID issued by a federally recognized Tribal Nation/Indian Tribe HSPD-12 PIV card Foreign government-issued passport Canadian provincial driver's license or Indian and Northern Affairs Canada card Transportation worker identification credential U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Employment Authorization Card (I-766) U.S. Merchant Mariner Credential Veteran Health Identification Card (VHIC) The deadline to have a Real ID-compliant identification was May 7, 2025. The Department of Homeland Security offers an online tool to check whether you have acceptable ID. Real ID compliance is part of a larger act passed by Congress in 2005 to set 'minimum security standards' for the distribution of identification materials, including driver's licenses, USA TODAY reported. "Transportation Security Administration does not require children under age 18 to provide identification when traveling with a companion within the United States," according to the Michigan Department of State. More: Your guide to Real ID in Michigan: Deadline, how to get it, what it looks like, more The law means certain federal agencies, like the Transportation Security Administration or the Department of Homeland Security, won't be allowed to accept state-issued forms of identification that don't include a Real ID seal. Yes, the Michigan Secretary of State will continue to offer Real ID-compliant licenses in the future. You can upgrade your license when you renew or by making an appointment. More: Can I still travel without a Real ID? Here are the alternatives You can update your ID by visiting your local Michigan Secretary of State branch office. You'll need to bring the following documents, per the department: Your current Michigan driver's license or ID. A valid, unexpired U.S. passport, birth certificate, or other proof of legal presence document. A certified legal name-change document, if your name is different from what is on your birth certificate. From Feb. 23 to May 17, the Michigan Secretary of State said, workers issued 202,571 real ID-compliant driver's licenses or state IDs to Michiganders. The week of May 4 was the busiest of the year, with 28,289 converted IDs issued. More than 76% of Michigan residents have compliant licenses, the SoS said. Michigan had about 7.0 million licensed drivers as of 2020, according to the Federal Highway Administration. This article originally appeared on Detroit Free Press: Real ID rules are in effect. Prince Harry's Ex Turns Heads With Growing Baby Bump in Rare Appearance
Prince Harry's ex-girlfriend, Cressida Bonas, 36, who is expecting her second child with her husband, Harry Wentworth-Stanley, made a rare appearance in London on May 22. The Daily Mail reported that Cressida and her half-sister, Isabella Branson, went to South Kensington's private members' club NEXUS for an event, hosted by Scottish poet Donna Ashworth. During the event, which was held because of mental health awareness month, Cressida showcased her baby bump while wearing a polka-dotted jumpsuit underneath a yellow sweater. She also sported layered gold necklaces and a straw tote. The Daily Mail reported that Cressida, whose parents are Lady Mary-Gaye Curzon and Jeffrey Bonas, and Prince Harry had a two-year relationship until 2014. Cressida and Wentworth-Stanley wed in 2020. The couple welcomed their first child, Wilbur, in 2022. According to the publication, Cressida has been open that she conceived her children via IVF. The publication reported that Cressida shared how she was feeling during her pregnancy with her second child in a January 2025 essay for The Spectator. "This second pregnancy is very different from the first, partly because I've been battling morning sickness. I've never had it before and now feel like I've been swaying on a boat for months," wrote Cressida. "Although the second pregnancy is less consuming than the first, I still lie in bed trying to detect a heart beat. But I don't compare the size of the baby with items in my fruit bowl each day (yes, there is an amazingly popular app that does that). And I don't stress over the pepperoni I had on my pizza last night. My two-year-old ensures I don't have the time for any of these things." Cressida wished her husband a happy birthday in a May 2025 Instagram upload. The post featured several pictures of the couple with their 2-year-old son and dachshund, Budgie. "Happy birthday to my dream guy 💫," read the caption of the post. Several fans took to the post's comment section to compliment Cressida and her family. "You guys look so blissfully happy together which is lovely ♥️," wrote a commenter. "Gorgeous family! Send you lots of happiness! 😍❤️❤️🙌," added another. 'Happiest of Birthdays!!! What a beautiful family you have and you are such a beautiful soul... Much love," shared a different Instagram user. Some commenters also referenced that Cressida used to date Prince Harry. "You missed a bullet and found a real prince," commented a social media user. "Two Harrys???" asked another person.
