Kaleb Johnson is a massive fantasy winner landing with the Pittsburgh Steelers
Kaleb Johnson is a massive fantasy winner landing with the Pittsburgh Steelers | NFL Draft Live Yahoo Sports' 'Draft Live' crew reacts to the Pittsburgh Steelers selecting Iowa RB Kaleb Johnson in the third round of the draft. View more Video Transcript Not gonna be your door. Caleb Johnson, running back Iowa, is the pick. Advertisement Yes, we, we talked about this. uh, Andy Barrens and I did a, uh, prospect wish casting episode, uh, right when I landed here on Tuesday. We both had Caleb Johnson. He's an Iowa fan, so we've seen a lot of, uh, he's seen a lot of Caleb Johnson. We both had him going to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and it's just, it's so obvious. Charles, when we broke him down, you compared him to Arian Foster, Caleb Johnson, who was just a menace in an outside zone scheme. The Pittsburgh Steelers under Arthur. Smith were 2nd in percentage of zone runs last year behind only your Atlanta Falcons who just, that's all they did was so perfect system fit for him, uh, from a fantasy perspective, he is a huge winner here because that depth chart is wide open. Advertisement Like, um, you know, uh, they've, they've got obviously Naji Harris has moved on. Jaylen Warren is a good player, but he's not a, a feature back. I think Caleb Johnson, like, get ready to learn 18 touches a game here, buddy. Because he's gonna get a lot of work in this offense. My comparison for him is, uh, honey I shrunk Derrick Henry. Well, Arthur, Arthur Smith. So he goes, Arthur Smith. I'm like, OK, there it is, same running style, little upright, great on zone because he gets north. That's where the Aaron Foster comparison comes from. Good size, better pass protector now than Derrick Henry has ever been. Advertisement I'm going on record and saying that has some hands too, yeah, well, I mean, no wonder Arthur Smith loves them. They're gonna run so much zone. got the the scat back with him or the kind of the other alternate back with him and Warren. That is so funny, yeah, but Johnson this rocks, uh, this rocks, they need a back. They had like 40, 14 running backs for top 30 visits. I'm actually really glad Johnson was my running back 3, but again part of this tier where I could see all these guys going on day two. This I love this. The football 301 running back episode was absolutely stellar and just such an eye opening reminder of how different systems matter so much like Carmen, you, you flippantly mentioned. Advertisement You know, the zone running scheme, and I just, I think for a lot of fans that are listening, it's just a reminder that not every running back, no matter their production is meant to run behind every offensive line and every call like it's so wildly different what's expected from running backs. So a really good fit there. Jacob Parish, corner out of Kansas State is the pick for the Tampa Bay Buckets.
