Perak Lines Up Exciting Programmes, Activities For Launch Of National Month Ceremony

IPOH, Aug 14 (Bernama) -- Various exciting programmes and activities have been lined up for the state-level launch of the National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang 2025 ceremony at the Sultan Azlan Shah Roundabout here tomorrow. Perak Communications, Multimedia and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGO) Committee chairman Mohd Azlan Helmi said the event, which will start at 3 pm, would be officiated by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad at night. He added that among the activities and programmes lined up are exhibitions, various government and private sector services, the Rahmah Sales Programme, sales of coffee and pastries, e-sports competition as well as a Merdeka children's fashion competition by Kemas pre-school children. "Visitors will also be entertained by the likes of Zamani Slam and several other renowned local artistes,' he told a media conference after an exclusive interview session with PerakFM radio station today. He added that some visitors also stand the chance to win various lucky draw prizes. Mohd Azlan said this year's National Month launch would be further enlivened with the presence of Pentarama Merdeka@HOHO programme, incorporating various educational elements and reigniting patriotic spirit through the activities that will be held, such as quizzes, information sessions and National Day publicity. He said that through the strategic collaboration with Perak Transit, the Pentarama Merdeka@HOHO programme would also pass through areas around Ipoh and stop at several stops to draw closer to the public. "These efforts are part of the 2025 National Day and Malaysia Day publicity plans under the Communications Ministry. "We welcome all Perak folk to turn up to enliven the ceremony on Friday as a sign of their support for the country,' he said.

REGION - SOUTHERN > NEWS MELAKA, May 18 (Bernama) -- The unemployment rate in Melaka for the fourth quarter (Q4) of last year dropped to 1.8 per cent, down from 2.6 per cent in 2023, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said. He said the achievement demonstrates the effectiveness of the state government's policies in creating job opportunities, especially for the youth in Melaka. 'Today, Melaka is home to more than 200,000 youths. They are not just a number, they represent the future energy of the state and the country, and are among the most valuable assets that will shape Melaka's future,' he said. bootstrap slideshow 'Therefore, various initiatives have been and continue to be implemented, focusing on job marketability, entrepreneurship, education, personal development, as well as social and religious values. Confident in the strong government-youth relationship, he believes it will nurture visionary and competitive young leaders, and the state government will continue providing infrastructure, opportunities, and guidance to ensure sustainable youth development. He said the state government established a Youth State Assembly with 33 representatives from each state constituency to provide leadership training and involve youth in grassroots policy-making.
