Soybeans Up Double Digits on Wednesday
Soybeans are 15 to 18 cents higher heading into midday on Wednesday. Futures slipped lower on Tuesday, settling 5 to 6 cents in the red. Tuesday's preliminary open interest was up 5,374 contracts, hinting at some net new selling interest. The cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price is up 18 cents this morning, at $9.71. Soy oil is up for a fifth consecutive day, buoyed by the confirmation of tight stocks in the Tuesday NOPA report (1.366 billion lbs). Soymeal futures are trading $4-5/ton higher than on Tuesday, as Soy Oil futures are up 10 to 14 points. President Trump announced a preliminary trade deal with Indonesia on Tuesday, reportedly including commitments to purchase $4.5 billion in ag products. This morning, USDA reported an export sale for 2025/26 marketing year under the daily reporting system. Private exporters reported 120,000 MT of US soybeans sold to 'unknown' destinations. July exports out of Brazil are estimated at 12.19 MMT according to ANEC, a 0.26 MMT increase from last week's estimate, and would be an increase from the 11.25 MMT last year. Chinese importers are estimating July soybean arrivals there to hit about 10.5 MMT from all origins, up from 9.85 MMT a year ago. Soybeans are trading with gains of 9 to 10 cents so far on Wednesday. Futures slipped lower at midday, with contracts closing 5 to 6 cents in the red on Tuesday. Tuesdays preliminary open interest was up 5,374 contracts. The cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price was down 4 3/4 cents at $9.56 1/4. Soymeal futures were down $2.20 to $2.70/ton, as Soy Oil was 30 to 43 points higher. Crop Progress rating improvement came in IL (+15), with MO (+10), ND (6), MN (+5), and IA (+1) all seeing stronger ratings. Conditions in MI were down 7, with SD slipping 3 and NE 1 point lower. Soybeans Losses Continue as Ratings Improve
Soybeans are 3 to 5 cents lower as Tuesday morning trade kicks off. Futures slipped lower on the Monday session, with contracts fractionally to 4 cents in the red. July expired on Monday, with 204 deliveries and 1,327 for the month. The cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price was down 3 ¼ cents at $9.61 1/2. Soymeal futures were down $1.50 to $2.60/ton, as Soy Oil was 25 to 42 points higher. There were 111 deliveries for July meal futures on Monday night, taking the total for the month to 4,703 as the contract expired. Monday afternoon's Crop Progress data indicated 47% of US soybean crop was blooming by Sunday even with the 5-year average, with% setting pods. On Monday morning, President Trump threatened Russian with secondary tariffs (on Russian trade partners) if there is no deal to end the Russian/Ukraine war in 50 days. USDA tallied soybean export shipments at 147,045 MMT (5.4 mbu) during the week ending on July 10. That was down 63.2% from last week and 16.1% below the same week last year. Mexico was the largest buyer of 32,507 MT in that week. Marketing year exports have totaled 46.411 MMT (1.705 bbu), which is 10.4% above the same period last year. Rains are expected to be rather widespread this next week according to NOAA's 7-day QPF, with much of the Corn Belt seeing 1 to 3 inches. NOPA data will be updated later today, with traders looking for an average of 185.19 mbu of soybeans crushed during June, which would be up nearly 10 mbu from last year.
