Battling land-pooling protests, Mann says will meet farmers

Replying to a media query about resistance to the policy, Mann said that it was not dictatorial. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now The chief minister described the land pooling policy as a progressive step taken for the promotion of planned and sustainable development. He assured that feedback from all stakeholders, including farmers, would be considered. Underlining the involvement of all stakeholders, CM Mann said that all decisions would be taken in consultation with people. "The policy has already been explained in details. In the days to come, meetings will be held with people, including farmers, about the land pooling policy. There is no dictatorship," he said. A week ago, Anandpur Sahib MP Malwinder Singh Kang, former chief spokesman of AAP's Punjab unit, posted on 'X', urging his party leaders to "earn the trust" of farmers regarding this policy. He suggested that the govt do this by communicating with farmers and farm organisations on this matter. However, hours after expressing his reservations about the land pooling policy on his social media handle, Kang deleted the post following backlash. His tweet was shared by opposition leaders too. Responding to another media query, the chief minister alleged that Congress leaders had previously patronised gangsters, which emboldened criminal elements. He noted that those very Congress leaders were now facing threats to their families from the same criminals they once supported. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that these leaders were now facing the consequences of their past misdeeds against the state and its people. A dose of new skills for ASHA workers in capital

New Delhi: Around 2,000 ASHA (Accredited Social Health Activist) workers, who act as vital links between the healthcare systems and local communities, will undergo training for the expanded healthcare initiative in Delhi at Ayushman Arogya Mandir sub-centres this year. The expanded healthcare services in the capital will now include mental health support, elderly care, palliative care, ear-nose-throat services and dental healthcare. Additionally, the central govt has granted approval for the recruitment of 1,064 new ASHA workers to supplement the existing team of 6,481 workers in the city. Officials said that the additional staff will assist in extending healthcare services to previously unserved regions, including the South East district. ASHA workers play a vital role in creating awareness and educating people about essential health factors, including nutrition, sanitation and hygiene practices. Health authorities noted that their initial responsibilities focused on maternal care, child welfare, and family planning services. These health parameters demonstrated considerable improvement from their earlier poor condition. Health officials assure that ASHA workers contribute to reducing maternal and infant mortality through their advocacy of hospital births and prenatal and postnatal care. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Tukarkan Bitcoin dan Ethereum - Tanpa Dompet Diperlukan! ASHAs facilitate 95% of the full immunisations for children up to one year. They improve healthcare accessibility in urban regions, particularly when it comes to maternal and child health, family planning and immunisation, and creating awareness about communicable diseases such as tuberculosis and non-communicable diseases like hypertension and diabetes. Officials confirmed that Delhi's ASHAs will receive training for an enhanced service package under the Ayushman Bharat scheme . From the current workforce, around 2,000 ASHAs will develop new competencies in areas such as mental health, elderly and palliative care, oral health, eye care and ENT services, previously excluded from their training curriculum. Govt officials said that the ASHAs will complete a 14-day training programme in four modules for Ayushman Bharat Expansion service in 2025-26, following central govt guidelines. The central govt began the National Health Mission as the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in 2005. In 2013, the Centre incorporated the urban component — National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) into the programme. Later, NRHM was renamed as the National Health Mission with two sub-missions, NRHM and NUHM.
