A special bulletproof car has been added to his security detail. Security measures around his residence in Delhi have also been tightened. India on Tuesday expelled a Pakistani official working at the Pakistan High Commission for allegedly indulging in espionage. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the official was indulging in activities not in keeping with his official status in India and that he had been given 24 hours to leave the country. Hours after India's action, Pakistan's foreign office said it declared an Indian staffer at India's mission in Islamabad as a "persona non grata" on charges of espionage. India and Pakistan reached an understanding on May 10 to end the conflict after four days of intense cross-border drone and missile strikes. 'The ceasefire is holding. I think we have seen we're in a better place than we were before. After announcing the understanding, Indian government sources in New Delhi have maintained that the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan reached the understanding to stop all firings and military actions on land, air and sea, with immediate effect. They said no third party was involved. With inputs from PTI Pakistan on Tuesday said that 11 military personnel were killed and 78 others injured during the recent military confrontation with India. In a statement, the military also claimed that 40 civilians died and 121 others were injured in the "unprovoked and reprehensible dastardly attacks" by India on the night of May 6-7. India and Pakistan reached an understanding on Saturday to end the conflict after four days of intense cross-border drone and missile strikes. While defending the motherland, 11 personnel of Pakistan's armed forces were killed and 78 others were wounded, the Pakistan military said.

Former Defence Attache to Pakistan, Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, took over as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), South Western Air Command (SWAC), an official release stated on Thursday. Kapoor has succeeded Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari, who has taken over as Vice Chief of Air Staff, the release added. The release stated that Kapoor graduated from National Defence Academy in December 1985 and was commissioned in the IAF on December 6, 1986. 'He is a highly experienced fighter pilot, qualified flying instructor and a fighter combat leader who has flown a variety of combat and trainer aircraft. He has flown all variants of MiG-21 and the MiG-29 with more than 3,400 flying hours to his credit,' the release said. As per the release, 'During his illustrious career, he (Kapoor) has held numerous field and staff appointments. His operational tenures include being the Commanding Officer of a fighter squadron in the Central Sector, Station Commander of a flying base in the Western Sector and Air Officer Commanding of a premier air base. He has also done instructional tenures as Directing Staff at the Defence Services Staff College and Chief Instructor (Flying) at Air Force Academy during which he was instrumental in the induction and operationalisation of PC-7 MK II aircraft in the Indian Air Force.'

Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor takes charge as AOC-in-C of SW Air Command
Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, a highly experienced fighter pilot with more than 3,400 flying hours to his credit, on Thursday took charge as the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of the South Western Air Command (SWAC). He succeeds Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari, who is set to take charge as the Vice Chief of the Air Staff on May 2. South Western Air Command is headquartered in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. On arrival, he was presented with a ceremonial guard of honour at the headquarters in Gandhinagar. The air marshal graduated from the National Defence Academy in December 1985 and commissioned in the IAF on December 6, 1986, according to a statement shared by the IAF. He is a highly experienced fighter pilot, a qualified flying instructor and a fighter combat leader who has flown a variety of combat and trainer aircraft, it said. The air marshal has flown all variants of MiG-21 and the MiG-29 with more than 3,400 flying hours to his credit. His senior staff appointments include Assistant Chief of Air Staff Operations (Strategy) at Air HQ, Air Defence Commander at South Western Air Command, Senior Air Staff Officer at HQ Central Air Command and Air Officer-in-Charge Personnel at Air HQ, it said. Prior to assuming the charge as the AOC-in-C, SWAC, the air marshal was AOC-in-C, Training Command. For his distinguished service, the air marshal has been awarded the Vayu Sena Medal in 2008, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2022 and Param Vishisht Seva Medal in 2025.

Work begins for complex at Command Hospital in Bengaluru
BENGALURU: Foundation stone was laid for the construction of a new modern multi-storied hospital complex at Command Hospital Air Force Bengaluru here on Tuesday. Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Training Command, unveiled the foundation stone in the presence of Air Marshal, Director General Medical Services (Air), Sandeep Thareja from the Air HQ. The present structure of the Command Hospital is 157 years old and can handle an OPD of nearly 3 lakh patients, with 21,000 admissions yearly. According to a press release, with the increasing workload, along with the need to incorporate rapid advancements in healthcare technology, the hospital demands a modern infrastructure with adequate scope for expansion in the future. The project on completion shall be a state-of-the-art 800-bed facility, with 16 modular operation theatres, modern ICUs, high-end diagnostic services including advanced imaging and laboratory facilities with a pneumatic chute system. Intelligent design components of the hospital, like OPDs on lower floors, spacious lifts and escalators, will offer convenient access for patients, including the differently-abled. Digitisation and an Integrated Hospital Information System will reduce patient wait times. The facility will adhere to GRIHA 3-star norms, incorporating rainwater harvesting systems, solar power generation of one megawatt capacity and a high capacity effluent treatment plant contributing towards a sustainable and environment friendly ecosystem, the release added.

New military hospital complex coming up at Bengaluru CHAF, foundation stone laid
Air Marshal Nagesh Kapoor, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C), Training Command, laid the foundation stone for a new state-of-the-art multi-storey hospital complex at Command Hospital Air Force (CHAF), Bengaluru, on Tuesday. According to the Defence Ministry, the new complex with an 800-bed facility will have 16 modular operation theatres, modern ICUs, and high-end diagnostic services, including advanced imaging and laboratory facilities with a pneumatic chute system. The facility is aimed at easing the workload at CHAF, which handles an OPD of nearly 3 lakh patients, with 21,000 admissions yearly at the 157-year-old structure, and also to incorporate rapid advancements in healthcare technology, authorities said. The event was also attended by Air Marshal Sandeep Thareja, Director General Medical Services (Air)from Air HQ. The complex will be equipped with a smart building management system and operations room that will monitor efficient lighting, security, and energy consumption, and ensure effective management of infrastructure and smart climate control, thereby ensuring seamless delivery of healthcare services, the Defence Ministry stated. Intelligent design components of the hospital, like Out Patient Departments (OPDs) on lower floors, spacious lifts and escalators, will offer convenient access for patients, including the differently-abled. The project will make use of digitisation and an Integrated Hospital Information System to reduce patient waiting time. In alignment with national green building standards, the facility will adhere to GRIHA 3-star norms, incorporating rainwater harvesting systems, solar power generation of one megawatt capacity and a high-capacity effluent treatment plant contributing towards a sustainable and environment-friendly ecosystem.
