PCB, BCB discuss BD tour of Pak
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has confirmed that it is in "active and ongoing discussions" with their Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) counterparts regarding the upcoming white-ball tour of Pakistan later this month. The development comes late of Saturday, where the officials emphasised that the safety and security of its players and support staff remain its top priority. "The BCB wishes to reiterate that the safety and security of its players and support staff remain the Board's highest priority," an official statement on Saturday said. "All decisions concerning the tour will be made with careful consideration of the current situation in Pakistan, ensuring they align with the best interests of the team and Bangladesh cricket," the statement added. The Bengal Tigers are scheduled to play five T20Is in Lahore and Faisalabad. Their arrival is expected on May 21, while the series is expected to commence from May 25. However, escalating tensions along the India-Pakistan border have cast uncertainty over the tour. This also resulting in postponement of both the Pakistan Super League and the India Premier League. The Bangladesh team is set to travel to Dubai later this week as part of their tour preparations. Meanwhile, Bangladesh cricketers Rishad Hossain and Nahid Rana — who were involved in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 before it was postponed indefinitely — returned home on Friday. Rishad, who represented Lahore Qalandars, and Rana, who played for Peshawar Zalmi, arrived in Dhaka on Friday evening. They are expected to depart for the UAE along with the rest of the Bangladesh squad on Wednesday. Given Bangladesh's upcoming international commitments, it is unlikely that the duo will rejoin the PSL if it resumes in the near future. The series between Bangladesh and Pakistan now hangs in the balance as uncertainty looms. According to sources, the remaining PSL matches are likely to be held in Rawalpindi, pending a formal announcement of a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. PSL authorities have advised franchises to keep their overseas players in Dubai and asked local players to remain ready for action. Efforts are reportedly underway to gather all six teams in Islamabad, with Rawalpindi being considered the frontrunner to host the remainder of the tournament. The BCB had already announced its squad on May 4 for the five-match T20I series, which included both the UAE and Pakistan legs of the tour. Litton Das was named captain, with off-spinner Mahedi Hasan appointed as vice-captain. Bangladesh squad for T20Is in UAE and Pakistan: Litton Das (c), Tanzid Hasan, Parvez Hossain, Soumya Sarkar, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Towhid Hridoy, Shamim Hossain, Jaker Ali, Rishad Hossain, Mahedi Hasan (vice-capt), Tanvir Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Hasan Mahmud, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Nahid Rana and Shoriful Islam 'I would like to play' Bangladesh spinner Rishad Hossain, 21, who was representing Lahore Qalandars in his maiden overseas franchise stint, discussed his concerns and potential participation in PSL 10 as tensions between India and Pakistan escalated. He admitted that if the PSL resumes, he would approach his participation with caution. "If the tournament resumes, I would like to play," he said. "But yes, the fear will remain." Rishad, along with pacer Nahid Rana, returned to Dhaka on Saturday after the PSL was temporarily halted following reports of an incident near the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and growing fears among foreign players. "We heard about the situation, and yes, we were a bit scared," Rishad told reporters at the airport. "Everyone supported usfrom the team management to the BCB. They were constantly checking in." The leg-spinner also shared how he tried to reassure his teammates during the tense period. "Nahid Rana was a bit shaken and remained quiet. I kept telling him not to worry, that we were together. And of course, Allah is with us," he said.

PSL Star Exposes PCB: "There Were 2 Drone Attacks, They Tried To Hide From Us"
Bangladesh all-rounder Rishad Hossain has blasted the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), following the postponement of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Amid escalating political tensions between Pakistan and India, the PCB decided to indefinitely postpone the PSL on Friday. The PCB initially tried to relocate the games to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), but there request was rejected by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB). Rishad, who was playing for Lahore Qalandars, has blasted the PCB for how they handled the evacuation of overseas players. Rishad accused the PCB for lack of transperancy, revealing that the board tried to hide details of drone attacks. Rishad also revealed that the PCB initially planned to hold the remaining PSL matches in Karachi, but reversed it after players expressed their safety concerns with PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi. "The meeting was basically called to know our concerns, what we think about the current scenario. Almost all the foreign players said that the only safe place available for the later part of the tournament is Dubai. Yes, the PCB chair tried to convince us to conduct the remaining matches in Karachi. At that time, he tried to hide from us that there were two drone attacks just the day before, which we came to know later. Later all of us took the decision (to shift to Dubai), and the PCB Chairman helped us a lot to reach Dubai safely by the grace of god. Thanks to him and the Pakistan Cricket Board," he revealed. Rishad recalled the difficulties faced by overseas players, saying, "Thank god, we have reached Dubai after overcoming a crisis, and I am feeling well now. After landing in Dubai when we heard that a missile struck the airport 20 minutes after we took off from the airport. The news was scary as well as sorrowful, and now, after reaching Dubai we are feeling relieved." "Whenever I go out to play, my family worries for me whether the situation is good or not and now when they heard the news about Pakistan - the bomb-blasts and the missile-strikes here and there - naturally they were in tension. I personally tried to console them and tell them not to worry about me and they were quite normal," he said, as per a Cricbuzz report quoted by Wisden. Rishad went on to reveal that his Bangladeshi teammate Nahid Rana, who was playing for Peshawar Zalmi, was shaken by the events. "Nahid Rana was very quiet, maybe for the tension, as I understood. I kept telling him not to be tense and hopefully nothing would happen to us. Thank god, we reached Dubai safely," Rishad said. Listen to the latest songs, only on

BCB not sure about Bangladesh's tour to Pakistan, says 'safety and security of players is board's highest priority'
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is unsure about taking a call on whether the men's national team should travel to Pakistan for a five-match T20I series scheduled from May 25 to June 3. Amid the tensions escalating between India and Pakistan, the BCB is prioritizing player safety above all else, leaving the tour's fate hanging. 'The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is in active and ongoing discussions with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) regarding the Bangladesh National Team's forthcoming tour of Pakistan,' the BCB stated. "The BCB wishes to reiterate that the safety and security of its players and support staff remain the Board's highest priority," it added. According to the board, decisions regarding the tour will be taken after considering the ongoing situation in Pakistan and only after ensuring they align with the best interests of the team and the BCB. It all started with a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, which killed 26 people. India retaliated with a strike at terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Pakistan then attacked with drones and missiles, and despite a brief ceasefire, they launched fresh assaults. This has disrupted cricket in the region, with the Indian Premier League (IPL) pausing for a week and the Pakistan Super League (PSL) also being stopped midway. During PSL's abrupt end, two of their players, Nahid Rana and Rishad Hossain, were playing in the league. They found themselves caught in the turmoil and were desperate to leave Pakistan like other foreign players. On Saturday, BCB directors met at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium to discuss their next steps. The board is weighing every detail of the situation in Pakistan, determined to protect their players and staff. Before the potential Pakistan tour, Bangladesh is gearing up for a two-match T20I series against the UAE on May 17 and 19 at Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The games will offer a chance to sharpen their T20 skills and they can take a little detour from the current situation. 'The Bangladesh National Team will tour the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for a two-match T20 International series against the host nation as scheduled,' the BCB noted. While the UAE series is on the cards for Bangladesh for sure, it's the Pakistan tour that is grabbing the headlines. As the BCB continues talks with the PCB, the cricketing world waits to see if safety concerns will keep Bangladesh from traveling.
