Assembly polls will end sufferings of people under DMK regime: Nainar Nagendran
State Bharatiya Janata Party president Nainar Nagendran said he could comment on the issue of the Enforcement Directorate probe into irregularities in Tasmac only after the final outcome of a case filed in the Supreme Court. Mr. Nagendran was here to offer prayer at the Andal Temple, along with Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan, on Thursday. Talking to reporters, Mr. Nagendran said the Apex Court had given only an interim stay on the issue. The final judgement would come only when the court reopened after summer vacation, he added. Asked about the Tamil Nadu Government taking legal recourse over the Union Government denying ₹2,000 crore for the State under Samagra Shiksha Scheme, he said the DMK had not kept its poll promises. 'Even the ₹1,000 monthly assistance to women, promised during the 2021 Assembly elections, was given only on the eve of Lok Sabha polls to garner votes. The DMK was not for the welfare of the people but only for votes,' he said. The ensuing Assembly election would put an end to the increasing burden on the common man by way of increasing property tax, electricity tariff and milk price, he said. When his attention was drawn to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin claiming that the AIADMK had rejoined the BJP only out of fear of raids by the Central agencies, Mr. Nagendran said the AIADMK had no reason to fear any such raids.

Patriotic fervour marks BJP's National Unity public march in honour of Operation Sindoor martyrs
A National Unity public march for paying tribute to martyrs of Operation Sindoor organised by BJP in Tiruppur on Friday witnessed a huge turnout of people taking part enthusiastically, waving national tricolor all through and chanting patriotic slogans. The rally in which BJP State president Nainar Nagendran, former president K. Annamalai, and party's national secretary Arvind Menon, took part was led by a band troupe comprising school children, and featured an open van with a replica of Brahmos Missile mounted on it in a motorcade that also encompassed vans with children in the attire of armed forces. The flag of BJP was not visible anywhere all along the one-km long rally route from Kumaran Statue to Gandhi statue in the city. Speaking at the end of the rally, Mr. Annamalai said the purpose behind the exercise was to explain to the citizens the circumstances in which India had to take military action against Pakistan, and to infuse in young minds the trait of patriotism. India, through the military action, established that it was only after the terrorists and not civilians. The rally educated citizens about India's policy of restraint despite various provocations in the past decades, he said. Mr. Annamalai said .Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said there was now only a temporary pause in military action, and that here on, every act of terrorism by Pakistan on Indian soil will be deemed start of war. While appreciating the support of all parties, rising above political considerations, for India's handling of Pakistan's insinuation, Mr. Nagendran sought to know why Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has not issued a strong statement in this regard. The BJP leader admonished the Chief Minister for not dealing firmly with those who criticised our country for the military action on social media platforms. It was tantamount to acknowledging their perspectives, he pointed out. BJP State general secretary A.P. Muruganandham also spoke.

Crime up 52% in TN, govt must take responsibility: Nainar Nagendran
Trichy: BJP state president Nainar Nagendran on Thursday accused the DMK government of failing to control crime in Tamil Nadu, claiming the crime rate has risen by over 50% in the past year. Speaking to reporters in Trichy before leading a 'Tiranga Rally', Nagendran said, "Crimes including murder, robbery, and sexual assault driven by alcoholism are on the rise. The overall crime rate has increased by 52% compared to last year." He said the DMK government has yet to act decisively to address the situation. Welcoming the court's verdict in the Pollachi sexual assault case, he said justice had been served. In the evening, Nagendran led a Tiranga Rally from the railway junction to Major Saravanan roundabout—the second such rally after one held in Chennai on Wednesday in support of the armed forces. Later, he warned of escalating tensions with Pakistan, stating, "If these attacks continue, Pakistan may no longer exist on the world map. The ceasefire was agreed to only because Pakistan requested it." He criticised anti-national comments being circulated on social media and accused the Tamil Nadu chief minister, M K Stalin, of inaction. Echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he added, "Water and blood are not the same, and no war is stopped for anyone."
