Tadweer Group is set to host a major event under the theme of its Ramadan campaign, 'Naqa'a,' at Umm Al Emarat Park, taking place on March 14 and 15 from 8 p.m. – 12 a.m. The family-friendly event will provide an exciting opportunity for visitors of all ages to explore recycling, listen in to insightful workshops, and put on their creative hats with games and surprises in store. 11 Mar 2025 02:33 SARA ALZAABI (ABU DHABI)Tadweer Group's new campaign during Ramadan, titled Naqa'a, which is translated as purity, aims to connect the core values of the Holy Month with a statement to Aletihad, the group said the campaign encourages the community to adopt the 3 Rs (reduce, reuse, and recycle) to promote a cleaner and greener future. The initiative offers various public engagement opportunities, including events at the Sheikh Zayed Festival, family-friendly activities at Umm Al Emarat Park, and workshops at the Lammah Al Bahr Festival."The campaign promotes the values of Ramadan in ensuring sustainability within activities, which contribute to weekly competitions, videos, as well as community engagements to sensitise the public on the need to promote an understanding of responsible consumption and sustainable habits, the campaign also aims to tackle excessive waste at iftar and suhoor."By launching this initiative, Tadweer Group aims to instil sustainable habits that go beyond the Holy Month, encouraging individuals and communities to adopt the principles of the 3Rs as part of their daily lives. The campaign aligns with the UAE's broader sustainability goals and Tadweer Group's commitment to minimising environmental impact. By educating the public and providing practical solutions to manage waste effectively, the initiative seeks to create lasting behavioural change that supports a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future for the UAE," they can get involved in the campaign through activities at Umm Al Emarat Park on March 14-15, from 8pm to 1am and workshops at the Lammah Al Bahr Festival on March 22, from 9pm to 12am, the group group suggested some easy changes people can make during Ramadan to reduce waste."Create a meal plan to purchase only necessary ingredients, reducing the likelihood of food spoilage/waste. Offer smaller servings to prevent uneaten food, aligning with mindful consumption. Donate excess food to Hifz Al Nema. Properly refrigerate leftovers and creatively incorporate them into new meals to minimise waste. Opt for reusable shopping bags, water bottles, and single-use items."The past campaigns have been successful in improving the community's understanding of waste management, the establishment of eco-friendly habits, as well as increasing participation in environmental programmes, the group said. "Embracing the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle during Ramadan allows us to: honour the spirit of Ramadan by reflecting the month's values through mindful consumption and generosity, protect the environment by mitigating pollution and conserving untapped resources for future generations, strengthen community bonds by collaborating in sustainable practices, fostering unity and shared responsibility, and lead by example for future generations."
