‘Godman' flees with Rs 20 lakh of lawyer who sought ‘divine help' to double money, Navi Mumbai police file FIR

Navi Mumbai: A self-proclaimed godman decamped with Rs 20 lakh of a 42-year-old lawyer from Mira Road under the pretext of performing rituals to double the amount using his divine powers. The incident took place at the apartment of the lawyer's acquaintance in CBD-Belapur on Tuesday, police said. On Wednesday, the lawyer filed a complaint against Premsing Sadhu Maharaj (40) and the flat owner, Anant Narhari (65). He alleged that Narhari had introduced him to Premsing claiming that he had divine powers to double money by performing rituals. On Tuesday, around 6pm, the lawyer brought Rs 20 lakh cash to Narhari's flat in Gomati Society, Sector 8B. Premsing instructed the lawyer, his wife, son, and Narhari to go to the bedroom and bolt the door from inside. Premsing, who was alone in the living room, fled with the cash bag and locked the main door from outside. After two hours, when the lawyer did not get any response from Premsing, he came out of the bedroom and found the tantrik and the cash missing. Police filed a case against Premsing and Narhari under the relevant sections of the BNS for the offence of cheating and dishonestly inducing the delivery of property and wrongful consignment, along with the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 21st Century Skills Start with Confident Communication Planet Spark Learn More Undo You Can Also Check: Mumbai AQI | Weather in Mumbai | Bank Holidays in Mumbai | Public Holidays in Mumbai CBD-Belapur police senior inspector Sandesh Revale said, "We have obtained CCTV footage of Premsing exiting the society with the bag of cash.
