Pope Leo XIV collectible released by National Bobblehead Hall of Fame

(NewsNation) — The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum released its Pope Leo XIV bobbleheads on May 9, selling 2,000 in its first week to customers across 47 states, according to a press release. The bobbleheads have been popular in Chicago where the pontiff was born and raised and in Philadelphia where he went to college, the museum said. The 8-inch bobblehead is on presale with an anticipated November shipping date. Each costs $30 plus shipping and taxes. One depicts the pope waving one arm, commemorating his first greeting in his new role to a crowd of over 150,000 in St. Peter's Square on May 11. Another is of him in the papal white robe called a cassock with his hands held by his chest. 'This is nuts': How Louis Prevost learned his brother became pope Pope Leo XIV was elected earlier this month after his predecessor Pope Francis died on Easter Monday. The museum also sells Francis bobbleheads for the same price. Some of the museum's best sellers include Dr. Fauci, Sen. Bernie Sanders and Sister Jean, a religious figure. Leo merch has quickly become a favorite among Catholics, Chicagoans and many more. The Chicago Sun-Times released 'Da Pope!' commemorate merchandise, including a special edition newspaper, T-shirts, sweatshirts, mugs, tote bags and magnets. The popular Chicago hot dog restaurant Portillo's released 'The Leo' Italian beef sandwich as well. The White Sox announced plans to unveil a graphic installation at Rate Field to mark the location where Leo cheered for Chicago in Game 1 of the 2005 World Series. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. Pope Leo bobbleheads already make their debut

These are some blessed bobbleheads. Two Pope Leo bobbleheads were unveiled Friday by the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum. The limited-edition papal creations are on presale for $30 online and are slated to start shipping out in November. One depicts Leo XIV, who real name is Robert Francis Prevost, when he was first introduced to the world as pope on the Vatican balcony at St. Peter's Square on Thursday — donning a red mozzetta and a stole over a white rochet and a pectoral cross, waving to the crowd. 'We are thrilled to continue the tradition of bobbleheads celebrating the newest Pope with the unveiling of these bobbleheads featuring Pope Leo XIV,' National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said on the Milwaukee museum's website. 'Bobblehead are the perfect way to show off your admiration for a given person, and with the excitement surrounding the first Pope from North America, we know the Pope Leo XIV bobbleheads are going to be very popular!'

You can remember Deep Thought, Milwaukee's abandoned boat, with this limited-edition bobblehead

Deep Thought, Milwaukee's favorite abandoned boat, may soon be gone, but you can remember its six-month stay on the lakefront with a limited-edition bobblehead. The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum in Milwaukee announced April 25 that the Deep Thought Milwaukee Abandoned Boat Bobble is available for pre-order in the museum's online store. "The bobble features the boat that has become an unofficial Milwaukee landmark after it was abandoned in mid-October 2024 along the city's lakefront ...," National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said in an email to the Journal Sentinel. "This bobble will give anyone who wants to remember Milwaukee's most famous boat the opportunity to have a replica version in bobble form!" The graffiti-covered bobble boat is positioned on two springs on an oval, blue, water-and-sand-textured base with "Deep Thought" printed in white letters on the front of the base. The bobblehead is about 8 inches long. Only 2,025 bobbleheads will be available, exclusively in the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum's online store. They're $35, plus a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order. They're expected to ship in November 2025, according to a news release from the museum. Deep Thought, a 33-foot Chris-Craft Roamer, became stuck between Milwaukee's McKinley Marina and Bradford Beach on Oct. 13 after its Mississippi-based owners ran out of gas. Weather, costs and other challenges repeatedly delayed the boat's removal. As the months went by, Deep Thought became somewhat of a Milwaukee icon, earning an entry on Google Maps, its own "I Closed Wolski's" sticker and T-shirts and other merch inspired by it. Eventually, it became covered in graffiti. Most of its electronics have been picked over or destroyed. Milwaukee Mayor Cavalier Johnson recently called it dangerous and an "eyesore." After uncertainty about who would be responsible for organizing and paying for the boat's removal, Johnson announced Wednesday that an anonymous donor had offered to cover at least part of the cost of removal. Jerry Guyer, the owner of Jerry's Silo Marina, and his team have been working to get the boat unstuck throughout the week. The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum is at 170 S. 1st St. in Milwaukee. Deep Thought is far from the museum's first bobblehead depicting a Milwaukee legend ― others include Bay View celebrity The Milverine and famous Brewers fan Front Row Amy. New bobblehead will feature Michigan State's Sparty kissing the court

EAST LANSING — A new licensed, limited edition bobblehead has Michigan State's Sparty 'kissing the court,' just in time for the Spartans' March Madness debut. The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum is unveiling its latest bobblehead Wednesday, two days before the Spartans' first 2025 tournament game against the Bryant Bulldogs of Bryant University in Rhode Island. The bobbleheads now available will be individually numbered to 2,025 and will ship out in September. They will run for $40 and there's an $8 flat-rate shipping charge per order. 'We're excited to unveil the first bobblehead featuring Sparty kissing center court at the Breslin Center – a well-honored Michigan State tradition,' National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said in a press release. 'The 30-year tradition is one of the best in college sports and is special for the seniors who have worn the green and white. 'This bobblehead will be a must-have for all fans of Michigan State!' As a bobblehead, Sparty wears a signature outfit while positioned on a rectangular, hardwood-textured base, ready to kiss the Spartan logo at Breslin Center's center court. The front and back of the base read 'Michigan State' and 'Spartans.' Legendary Spartan Shawn Respert began the kiss-the-court tradition at his final victorious 1995 home game against Wisconsin. After scoring 31 points, the senior kissed the Spartan 'S' at center court to show gratitude to MSU, the coaching staff and his teammates. Spartan basketball players – both men and women – have continued the tradition that has spread across campus. Spartan hockey players kiss the ice and the school's football players are known to huddle to kiss a helmet. Earlier this month, the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum released a licensed, limited edition Tom Izzo Win Counter Bobblehead to honor the MSU basketball coach's 354th Big Ten Conference victory, which surpassed former Indiana coach Bob Knight for the most conference wins in league history.
