According to The Times of India, Sushant secured an impressive All India Rank of 7 in the 2003 Delhi College of Engineering Entrance Exam. He went on to pursue mechanical engineering at Delhi College of Engineering (now Delhi Technological University), but left in his third year to chase his passion for acting. A National Olympiad winner in Physics, Sushant also cleared 11 engineering entrance exams, including the prestigious ISM Dhanbad. He also had a deep love for science, particularly astronomy. In a 2017 interview with Hindustan Times, Sushant Singh Rajput revealed that pursuing engineering had never been his ambition. The Shuddh Desi Romance actor shared that his true dream was to become an astronomer. 'Engineering wasn't my choice. I wanted to be an astronaut, and later, an Air Force pilot. I remember tearing up my Top Gun poster when my parents told me that was not going to happen. Apparently, I was going to be an engineer. Maybe the drama I did that day should've given everyone a clue! But truly, I was gutted," he told the publication. In the same interview, Sushant shared that even after securing a scholarship at Stanford University, he chose to follow his passion for the arts by joining Shiamak Davar's dance academy. He began his journey in showbiz as a background dancer and was part of the ensemble in the popular Dhoom Again track from the 2007 film Dhoom 2. Tragically, in June 2020, Sushant was found dead at his residence in Mumbai.
