According to The Times of India, Sushant secured an impressive All India Rank of 7 in the 2003 Delhi College of Engineering Entrance Exam. He went on to pursue mechanical engineering at Delhi College of Engineering (now Delhi Technological University), but left in his third year to chase his passion for acting.

Apparently, I was going to be an engineer. Maybe the drama I did that day should've given everyone a clue! But truly, I was gutted," he told the publication.
In the same interview, Sushant shared that even after securing a scholarship at Stanford University, he chose to follow his passion for the arts by joining Shiamak Davar's dance academy. He began his journey in showbiz as a background dancer and was part of the ensemble in the popular Dhoom Again track from the 2007 film Dhoom 2.
Tragically, in June 2020, Sushant was found dead at his residence in Mumbai. According to his post-mortem report, conducted at Mumbai's Cooper Hospital, the cause of death was 'asphyxia due to hanging".

Bengaluru's Lalbagh likely to ban all photoshoots amid concerns over ecology, public decency: Report

After Cubbon Park, Bengaluru's iconic Lalbagh Botanical Garden is now preparing to clamp down on all kinds of photo and video shoots, including wedding shoots, baby portfolios, fashion photography, Instagram reels, and commercial film productions, reported The Times of India. The horticulture department is in the final stages of drafting a proposal that could soon restrict such activities within the heritage garden's premises. Also Read - Karnataka Dy CM DK Shivakumar visits Air India plane crash site, calls tragedy 'heartbreaking' According to the report, the move aims to protect the park's delicate ecosystem and ensure that the space remains accessible and comfortable for regular visitors. 'Lalbagh is not merely a recreational space—it's a biodiversity hotspot that must be preserved,' said a senior official from the horticulture department is quoted as a saying. M Jagadish, joint director (parks and gardens), confirmed to the publication that the department is working on a formal proposal, following the footsteps of the recent restrictions imposed at Cubbon Park. 'We are aligning with the expert committee's suggestions to adopt a conservation-first approach at Lalbagh as well,' he said. Also Read - Bengaluru woman witnesses rare 'peaceful accident': 'No fights, just handshakes' The committee, led by former IFS officer and ecologist A.N. Yellappa Reddy, has raised multiple red flags. Loud noises and artificial lighting commonly used during shoots can disturb bees, butterflies, and nesting birds. In one incident, a swarm of bees attacked visitors after being agitated by strong flashlights during a shoot. Beyond environmental disruption, the committee has also flagged public decency concerns. Officials have received complaints about inappropriate poses and public costume changes during photoshoots, which many families and senior citizens have found disturbing. In some instances, photographers and subjects were spotted climbing trees or trampling on flowerbeds, causing physical damage to plants and landscaping. The department has emphasized that this is not a move to restrict leisure photography by everyday visitors, but an effort to strike a balance between public enjoyment and ecological responsibility. Once finalized, the proposed rules are expected to bring stricter guidelines or a complete ban on organised shoots at Lalbagh.

A year before Sushant Singh Rajput's death, IITian CEO recalls visiting the actor's Mumbai flat and his receiving his help

A moving remembrance for the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput has stirred emotions across the internet, thanks to a Mumbai-based startup founder. Shikhar Agrawal , an IIT alumnus and entrepreneur, shared a deeply personal story that highlighted the actor's compassion and unexpected support. Agrawal recalled a moment from six years ago, back when he was just a student building his ambulance startup . It was during that time that a meeting with Sushant changed his life. The opportunity arose when Agrawal pitched his idea to Rajput during the actor's visit to IIT Bombay for the filming of Chhichhore in 2019. What followed was a surreal moment for the young entrepreneur. Sushant took a genuine interest in the project, not just listening patiently but diving into detailed questions about its technology, scalability, and logistics. Agrawal was astonished when, after the thoughtful conversation, the actor expressed his desire to contribute—not as an investor, but as someone who wanted to publicly represent and support the cause. He had no financial interests in mind. Instead, he simply believed in the mission and wanted to be a part of something meaningful. Agrawal emphasized how rare it is to meet someone who listens with such intent and shows that much belief in students barely beginning their journey. Rajput's response wasn't rehearsed or for show—it came from a place of authenticity. The actor's passion for innovation, social good, science, and startups was evident in every word. He was more than just a celebrity; he was a thinker with a heart full of purpose. "He listened like very few people do. He asked questions about tech, dispatch, scale, everything," wrote Agrawal. As June 14 marked another year since the actor's passing, Agrawal reflected on the emotional void left behind. He shared a powerful message—that often, those who brighten the world the most may not realize their own light. And when darkness feels overwhelming, it's important to hold on, because the world still needs that light—not less of it. Reactions poured in from people who were equally moved. One person remembered the day of Sushant's passing as deeply distressing, one that still haunts them. Another described him as a soul so radiant that it brought light to everyone around him. His kindness, they said, continues to echo through stories like Agrawal's. Sushant Singh Rajput was discovered dead in his Mumbai apartment in June 2020. The initial investigation pointed to suicide, reportedly linked to mental health challenges. Though official findings ruled out foul play, the incident remains under public scrutiny, sparking ongoing conversations and tributes like this one.
