Christopher Schwarzenegger Details 30-Pound Weight Loss Transformation
Originally appeared on E! Online Christopher Schwarzenegger has a total recall of his fitness transformation. The associate producer—youngest of exes Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver's four kids—recently shared insight into his six-year weight loss journey, including what inspired him to get in shape and lose 30 pounds. 'It was a big process,' Christopher said during his May 10 appearance at the Inaugural Beacher Vitality Happy & Healthy Summit. 'I started in 2019 when I was living in Australia. I was on this big trip. I made it a big [deal] like, 'Oh, I'm going to go out and do all this stuff in Australia,' and I just saw how much my weight was prohibiting me from doing the everyday activities.' In fact, the 27-year-old—whose siblings are Katherine Schwarzenegger, 35, Christina Schwarzenegger, 33, Patrick Schwarzenegger, 31, and half-brother Joseph Baena, 27, who Arnold shares with his former housekeeper Mildred Baena—wanted to 'go skydiving' with his friends, but due to his size at the time, he believed the activity wasn't safe enough for him to do. 'I was doing meal delivery things in high school, and I remember feeling like a weirdo when I was bringing weird lunches to school,' he recalled. 'It's not an overnight thing, but it took a lot of trial and error. And even still to this day, when [you see] before and after photos, I don't feel like I'm an after yet.' Though he hasn't hit his dream weight, Christopher shared the one food item he's ditched to help him reach that goal: bread. He specifically 'gave up' the starch for Lent, the Christian religious observance that lasts for 40 days. 'I was like, 'Well, if I'm giving up bread, I might as well just take the opportunity and I'm a good Catholic boy, so I'm not going to break it,'' he explained of his decision. 'And so I lost 30 pounds just through that.' While this is the first time Christopher (who often avoids the spotlight) has detailed his impressive fitness journey, he's been showing his weight loss transformation in the last few months. In fact, several weeks before he attended the recent panel, he made a rare appearance on his older sister's Instagram. On National Siblings Day last month, Katherine—mom to kids Lyla, 4, Eloise, 2, and Ford, 5 months, with husband Chris Pratt—shared a photo of her fittingly smiling with her siblings, sweetly calling them her 'favorites forever and always.' Arnold Schwarzenegger's son turned heads during an Easter outing with his family. The "Total Recall" star's 27-year-old son, Christopher Schwarzenegger, was photographed looking fit when he arrived at a restaurant in West Hollywood with his siblings. In the photos, Christopher can be seen wearing a long-sleeved navy blue shirt with khaki pants and white sneakers, pairing the look with a pair of brown glasses. Christopher was joined by his brother, Patrick Schwarzenegger, who arrived with his fiancée, Abby Champion, as well as his sisters Christina Schwarzenegger and Katherine Schwarzenegger, who attended the event with her husband, actor Chris Pratt. Katherine took to Instagram to share a peek into how the famous family spent the holiday, sharing a video of actor Rob Lowe dressing up as the Easter Bunny to surprise the kids and hide eggs for an Easter egg hunt. However, he was spotted leaving a gym in Los Angeles in 2023 looking considerably more buff. It's possible his transformation came after taking advice from his famous father. "My advice to beginners is really simple: begin. And then don't stop until it is a routine," Arnold wrote in his weekly newsletter, The Pump Daily, in February 2023, per The Independent. "For a lot of people, that first step is the hardest. So find something, anything, you can do." The Terminatoractor added, "Once you begin, the key is keeping your momentum... Traitors star becomes learning disability charity ambassador
A finalist of The Traitors has teamed up with a learning disability charity to become its newest ambassador. Alexander Dragonetti appeared on the third series of the show and said if he had won he would have donated some of the prize money to Mencap, after the charity helped his late brother. Fans of the show have since helped raise £95,000 for the Peterborough-based charity, which Mr Dragonetti said was "nothing short of incredible".He said: "People with a learning disability still face stigma and exclusion every day - I want to help Mencap increase visibility of learning disability and hope that in doing so we can promote acceptance and inclusion." The charity announced the news on National Siblings Day on 10 April in a series of videos shared on social media. Previously speaking to BBC Radio 4, Mr Dragonetti said he did not know whether or not to talk publicly about his brother, who had global development delay and autism. He said: "I talked about a summer camp I used to attend. This was a place where he could shine. He could be himself, he'd have infinite attention, he could be silly and my parents could get a break."My brother was the most wonderful human being and I miss him so deeply. I also know how hard it can be for parents looking after children with special needs." The Traitors, which is filmed in the Scotland, sees contestants engage in challenges, "murders", roundtables and banishments to build up a prize pot of money. He said: "It's remarkable how many people have experience or are impacted by learning disability. Hearing their stories has been humbling, and often surprisingly moving. "I am also passionate about raising awareness, and am so excited to continue doing this. Being different isn't easy and I'm proud to play a role for an organisation that breaks down barriers and improves understanding." Jon Sparkes, the chief executive at Mencap, said the charity was "thrilled" to welcome Mr Dragonetti to the "family". "He has already done so much to raise awareness of our essential work by bravely sharing his family's story, and in doing so has opened people's minds about learning disability."
