University in Lincoln voted best in the UK for teaching
Staff at a university are celebrating after students voted it the best in the UK for teaching. Lincoln-based Bishop Grosseteste University, which has more than 2,000 students, ranked first in three categories in the 2025 National Student Professor Andrew Gower said it was "very encouraging to achieve such a notable performance".International Admissions Officer Heather Cliffe said samller campuses "are the future" as they allowed students to "be who they are and not get lost in a crowd". "We're a small campus and everybody is so friendly, you walk around, everybody will say hello to you," Ms Cliffe said. Bishop Grosseteste University is set to change its name to Lincoln Bishop University in September. In the 2025 National Student Survey, the institution was ranked as the best in the UK for teaching, for learning opportunities and for assessment institute was also voted second in the UK for learning resources."This sector-leading success is testament to the dedication and hard work of the staff team and the personalised experience we provide," Professor Gower said. Ms Cliffe said she believed any past "stigma" attached to the word "small" had changed . "People didn't want to go to a small university because they thought they were offering less," she said. She added she believed smaller campuses gave people "the option to really develop who they are". Top Marks for Aberystwyth University in UK Student Survey
Aberystwyth University is the top university in Wales for student satisfaction for the tenth year in a row, according to the latest survey of students' opinions on the quality of their courses. The 2025 edition of the National Student Survey (NSS) has been compiled using over 357,000 student responses from across the UK. With an improved and consistently high student satisfaction rate, 86% of Aberystwyth University students are satisfied with the quality of their course, 4 percentage points above the sector average in Wales. Based on the higher education institutions featured in the latest edition of The Times / Sunday Times Good University Guide, 90% of the University's students are satisfied with their teaching, putting Aberystwyth in the top 10 in the UK. Aberystwyth also features in the UK top 5 for 'Academic Support' and 'Learning Resources' and in the top 10 in the UK for 'Assessment and Feedback' and 'Organisation and Management. Aberystwyth also outperforms the UK sector in all seven core themes that are featured in this year's survey: Teaching on My Course, Learning Opportunities, Assessment and Feedback, Academic Support, Organisation and Management, Learning Resource and Student Voice. Professor Anwen Jones, Pro Vice-Chancellor for Education and Student Experience at Aberystwyth University, said: 'This is fantastic news. Our university has a long-standing and enviable reputation for student satisfaction and today's results underline that. They demonstrate that Aberystwyth University is rated by our students as one of the best universities in the UK, reflecting the dedication of our staff to provide the best possible learning experience. 'The survey results go to show that we are an excellent place to learn, and that our teaching is simply outstanding. 'Aberystwyth is an inclusive, welcoming and supportive place, located in one of the most inspiring locations to live and study in the UK. The NSS is an annual survey of students in universities, colleges and other providers across the UK. Final-year undergraduate students are asked to score their university across a wide range of measures of student satisfaction. Students in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland were also invited to express their overall satisfaction with their university. The NSS is managed by the Office for Students on behalf of the UK funding and regulatory bodies – the Department for the Economy (Northern Ireland), the Scottish Funding Council and Medr.

University of Wolverhampton scores highly with final-year students
The University of Wolverhampton has improved in several areas of student satisfaction, according to the latest National Student Survey (NSS).Final year attendees rated academic development and student learning above average, the university opportunities and student voice also received high marks in the independent survey which was completed by about 2,000 Gill Knight, pro vice chancellor, academic leadership and student experience, said she was "absolutely delighted" with this year's results which showed improvements across all seven core themes. Thanking the students who took part, she added: "This is a fantastic testament to the dedication and hard work of our academic and professional services staff, who work together to deliver an outstanding student experience."It's especially rewarding to see that we are performing above the sector average in four key areas, including teaching quality, assessment and feedback, and student voice. "These results show that our students recognise our commitment to excellent teaching, meaningful support and, crucially, that we listen and respond to their feedback."The UK-wide survey is carried out every year to gather feedback from final-year undergraduate students about their experiences in higher education.
