Avoid controversy, think before you speak, Amit Shah's advice to MP mins

Bhopal: Union home minister Amit Shah on Saturday afternoon inaugurated the three-day training session organised by the state BJP for ministers, MPs, and MLAs at a private hotel in Pachmarhi. After the controversy over minister for tribal welfare Vijay Shah's sexist and communal "sister of their community" remark on Colonel Sofiya Qureshi that shocked the nation last month, Amit Shah gave a strong word of advice to the state BJP top brass and elected representatives. He asked them to avoid making controversial statements. Shah also said that if a mistake was committed by someone, such an error should not be repeated. "Think before you speak," he said. Minister for tribal welfare Vijay Shah was present in the training camp during Shah's inaugural speech. At the beginning of the training session, condolences were expressed and homages paid to the victims of the Ahmedabad plane crash. Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke to the congregation of 201 participants on the party's journey "From Jan Sangh to BJP – 1951 to 2025". "When Pt. Nehru imposed Article 370 in Kashmir because of the Nehru-Liaqat Pact, Dr Shyamaprasad Mukherjee resigned from the post of minister. He felt the need for a political party in the country that is connected to our history, religion, tradition, and culture. With this idea, he founded the Jana Sangh," he said. Shah explained that Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay sowed the seeds of the ideology of this party. "He (Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay) said that this party will be a party based on organisation, whose soul will be its workers. Forming a govt will not be our goal, rather we will form a govt for our principles," Shah said. "At that time people made fun of the Jan Sangh, but today the BJP, formed from the Jana Sangh, is the largest political party. We have govts in 18 states. We have the most MPs, MLAs, district panchayats, municipalities, janpad panchayats, and gram panchayats. Today, from Panchayat to Parliament, only BJP is visible. This development and expansion of the party is the result of hard work and virtue of eight generations of workers," he said. Speaking on Article 370, Amit Shah recalled that Dr Shyamaprasad Mukherjee proclaimed that 'do vidhan, do nishan, do pradhan' cannot work in one nation. "He marched to remove Article 370 and was murdered. While agitating against Article 370, Dr Mukherjee protected every inch of the country's land. Ban on cow slaughter, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi program is a symbol of cultural nationalism," he said. He argued that the govt should be nationalist, dedicated to development, a promoter of cultural nationalism. "Whoever forms govt, it should be prosperous for the state and the country. The path to prosperity should be Antyodaya. It is a process to take the poor section of society to becoming the most prosperous person and making the country prosperous is our only goal. The term Bimaru State was a big topic of discussion. The term Bimaru was created by using the words 'B' for Bihar, 'M' for Madhya Pradesh, 'R' for Rajasthan, and 'U' for Uttar Pradesh," Amit Shah maintained. "Today the country is seeing that these four states have become progressive and prosperous, leaving other states behind and are constantly moving ahead," he claimed. He said that when the BJP govt was formed in Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chauhan took over the reins. In his tenure of 20 years, he took that state out of the BIMARU category. Similarly, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh transformed after the formation of BJP govts there. Shah said that it was due to the hard work of BJP workers that the party came to power. "In 2014, the BJP got a full majority and formed govt under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the last 11 years, the BJP is following the basic principles laid down by Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and Deendayal Upadhyaya. Antyodaya was the main goal in these 11 years. Schemes like providing pucca houses, electricity, water, health guarantee up to Rs 5 lakh, five kg free grain to 60 crore people worked to bring about a change in life. Work was done to open 52 crore Jan Dhan accounts; free gas connections were given to women under the Ujjwala scheme," he said. Talking about national security, he said that Article 370, which separated Jammu and Kashmir from the country, was removed on 5 August 2019. "Not even a single stone was thrown in Jammu and Kashmir. Whatever things the Congress leaders used to say, did not happen. Another very big achievement of our govt is that after the formation of the govt under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, not a single youth of Jammu and Kashmir is holding a gun in his hands," Shah said. "In Operation Sindoor, the Pakistan Army headquarters was attacked and damaged. After the Pahalgam attack, the Indus Water Treaty was postponed. This treaty was made during the time of Jawaharlal Nehru. Within three years, the water of Indus will be taken to Sri Ganganagar through canals and irrigation facility will start in a large area. Pakistan will crave for every drop of water," Shah said. "In Pahalgam, they attacked by asking about religion, now they will crave for food grains to eat. They will have to ask for food grains from foreign countries," he added. Follow more information on Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad here .
