Roomies, Jaz has a serious conversation about their health. After undergoing weight-loss surgery, Jaz suffered an unexpected fall and was hospitalized again. Now back home and bedridden, she opens up about her fear of Nesha going through a similar battle in the future. 'We're going to have a serious conversation,' Jaz says. 'You might get mad at me. You may take it the wrong way, but it is what it is. And what I got to say is it's time for you to get your s--- together.' Immediately defensive, Nesha asks her to clarify what she means. 'I don't want you to end up like this. Look at all this medicine I got to take,' Jaz explains as the camera pans to several prescription bottles. 'I can't even walk. And that's something that I do not want you to go through.' 'Your health ain't nothing to play with. Don't play with it how I play with mine,' she continues, holding back tears. 'Because I'm telling you, when you laid up in that hospital, when you ain't got s--- to hold on to but your faith, when it feels like, is this the last day I'm going to be here? That s--- hurts. The thought of me not seeing my family hurts. I want you to get it together, Nesh. Don't wait like me.' 'I know it was terrifying and all of that. I was scared right along with you,' Nesha admits. 'Hearing Jaz, I could really understand where she's coming from,' Nesha says in a confessional. 'This has definitely been a wake-up call for me to make changes like with my eating habits and just a lifestyle change altogether because I don't want to be in the same situation that Jaz is in.' 1,000-LB Roomies ' Jaz Shares Need for Life-Saving Weight Loss Surgery

News' exclusive preview of the June 10 episode of the TLC series, the 41-year-old and her family have an emotional conversation over her desire to undergo bariatric surgery. After all, while her family is hesitant, she knows it's something she needs to do. "I don't want my family disappointed in me, but then it makes me scared because this right here is reality," Jaz says in her confessional, alongside costar and roommate Nesha. "If I don't go through with the surgery, I'm not going to be here much longer." Indeed, prior to her candid confessional, Jaz broaches the topic with her family over Sunday dinner. "I've been seeing a doctor,' she tells them.' So far I've lost 40 pounds, and I've been taking the weight loss shot." After hesitating, she adds, "I've been thinking about having weight loss surgery." More from E! But despite the pushback, Jaz simply says, "I need ya'll support." Indeed, in the June 3 series premiere, Jaz had a conversation with her doctor Dr. Sarvenaz Nouri during which he emphasized the serious risks she faces. 'If you don't lose weight and if you don't get the weight loss surgery to lose weight,' he explained, 'you will not survive for that long." He added that she still has "about 130 pounds" to lose before she can get the surgery, as he wants her to be around 500 pounds. And she took his words seriously as she thought of what's at stake, especially with a 10-year-old daughter at home. 'I'm very scared,' Jaz said. 'How many days I got left? How many days I got left to be a parent? How many days I got left to be an auntie, a sister, a daughter and a best friend?' And while Jaz's mom and grandma are worried for her when it comes to taking surgical measures, Nesha is standing by Jaz's side, as she emphasized in the first episode, "Whatever she has to do, I'm in full support." Nouri explains that Jaz needs to commit to her weight loss journey so that she can qualify for bariatric surgery. 'Our goal is to help you to get you to surgery,' she says. 'For the surgery I want you to be around 500 lbs. So you do need to lose about 130 lbs before surgery.' TLC is gearing up for the series premiere of 1000-Lb Roomies starring besties and —and the two larger-than-life personalities teased silliness, strength and a near-death experience. Starting on June 3, viewers will get to witness the BFFs—who weighed nearly a combined 1,000 pounds at the beginning of their wellness journeys—embark on a serious weight loss mission in Riverside, Calif. 🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬 "What inspired me was hearing my doctor tell me that I wouldn't be around much longer," Jaz, 41, exclusively told Parade. "And it scared me because of my daughter. I have a 10-year-old daughter, and my daughter has autism. And nobody's going to love your child like you." Ultimately, Jaz said her goal is to be active and able to travel with her daughter, Nana. "I want to be able to take her to Disney World. That's my ultimate goal. And to be able to walk around and ride the rides with her." Jaz qualified for and underwent weight loss surgery as a tool to help with her progress. "It's definitely going to be a lot being shared this season," she explained. "A lot of emotion, a lot of happiness. Currently, I'm dealing with mobility issues. But it's getting better." Meanwhile, Nesha, 37, has opted not to have the gastric bypass procedure. "For me, I'm taking the natural route," she told Parade. "I'm terrified of surgery." Nesha continued, "For me, it's just more about, like, adapting more of a lifestyle change than a diet. And just taking those baby steps to, like, you know, like, stop drinking soda and stop drinking too much sugar and no more fried foods." So, what else can viewers expect from Season 1 of 1000-Lb Roomies? "It's definitely a lot of silliness," Jaz said, adding with a completely deadpan expression, "And Nesha tried to kill me." She elaborated, "Nesha tried to push me in a wheelchair and almost made me fall out." After laughing, Nesha defended herself, explaining, "Listen, I thought I was stronger than I am, OK? I had like this false sense of confidence, and it just didn't work out for me. "I almost died," Jaz insisted. During their chat with Parade, Jaz and Nesha also touched on their reality TV experience—specifically as Black women sharing their stories. "I'm super grateful for TLC to even like think about us, really, because not everybody gets the opportunity to have such a large platform to share their story," Nesha said. "It's kind of a catch-22 thing, because it's like, yeah, everybody's in my business," she continued. "But at the same time, I feel like both of our stories are very powerful, and they can help someone." "It also adds to the fact that we're Black women," Jaz added. "TLC's giving us that chance. And us being able to, you know, show like how strong we are." "I think that's one of the biggest feedback that we get, is that, 'Oh, you guys are Black,'" Nesha shared. "But everybody is kind of shocked and excited at the same time that we got a little chocolate in the sea." Through it all, the besties have supported each other every step of the way. Jaz explained, "Whatever it is that I'm going through, whether it's a high or a low, Nesha's there to back me up each time." TLC's '1000-Lb Roomies' Bursts on the Scene With Besties Jaz & Nesha's Weight Loss Journeys

TLC just announced a brand new show, 1000-Lb Roomies, starring sassy best friends Jaz and Nesha and their weight loss journeys. On May 8, the network unveiled a trailer and premiere date for the upcoming series, describing it as "unfiltered and heart-filled." Nesha, however, isn't quite ready to undergo weight loss surgery. "The decision to change their lives and embark on this endeavor will test their commitment, willpower and unbreakable bond in unimaginable ways," TLC teased in a news release shared with Parade.
