KearsargePress Release A 54-year-old Concord woman was rescued Sunday after injuring her leg while hiking down Mount Kearsarge in Warner. Lee Lewis had reached the summit and was descending the Barlow Trail about 8:30 a.m. when she suffered a lower leg injury and was unable to continue, according to New Hampshire Fish & Game. Lewis was hiking with family members, who called 911 for help. Firefighters from the Hopkinton and Warner fire departments carried Lewis down the mountain in a litter, with assistance from several conservation officers. The rescue team transported her three-quarters of a mile to the trailhead on Kearsarge Mountain Road. Lewis was then taken to Concord Hospital by Hopkinton Fire Department ambulance.
