Senior dies after rockslide in New Richmond, Que.
Man was found next to loose rocks Saturday morning A man in his 80's died after a rockslide in New Richmond, over 100 kilometres from Gaspé, Que., according to provincial police. They said emergency services were called to Henderson Beach on Saturday at around 9:45 a.m. where they found the man beside loose rocks. According to Sûreté du Québec (SQ) spokesperson Frédéric Deshaies, he was taken to hospital and police said they feared for his life. His death was confirmed Saturday afternoon. An investigation into the cause and circumstances surrounding the man's death is underway. In a Facebook publication on Saturday, the municipality of New Richmond announced the closure of the site where the senior was injured until further notice, adding that civil security officials had been called in along with a team of ground movement experts to assess the area. "We ask the public to rigorously follow the instructions and avoid all access to Henderson Beach," wrote the municipality.

Quebec man wanted for intimate partner violence arrested in N.B.

(CTV Atlantic/Avery MacRae) Saint John Police Force officers arrested a 33-year-old man who was wanted on an arrest warrant in Quebec. The police force received information from the New Richmond PQ, Surete du Quebec on June 30, that an arrest warrant had been extended to New Brunswick, a news release from Saint John Police Force reads. The warrant was in relation to an alleged intimate partner violence incident. Police received information the suspect was staying at an address in Saint John. EF-2 tornado touched down in New Richmond, Wisconsin, NWS says
An EF-2 tornado touched down in New Richmond, Wisconsin during Thursday evening's severe storms, the National Weather Service says. There were more than a dozen tornado warnings and multiple observed tornadoes across Minnesota and Wisconsin. Video captured children on a New Richmond school bus watching the tornado in the distance. A fast-acting school bus driver took the students, as well as kids on another bus, to his shed to ride out the storm. According to the NWS, crews are also investigating damage in St. Croix, Dunn and Barron counties in western Wisconsin. There are also reports of damage in Rusk County, Wisconsin. The NWS says there are also tornado and damage reports in western Minnesota, including in Chippewa, Swift and western Stearns counties. Officials are determining if they need to send crews to survey the damage.

Video shows Wisconsin students on bus with what appears to be a funnel cloud in distance
Several social media videos are making the rounds showing kids on a Wisconsin school bus during Thursday's tornado warning. The video shows kids in the New Richmond, Wisconsin area, on a moving school bus. A brief glimpse of ominous skies and what appears to be a funnel cloud can also be seen. Jessica Turner The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for the New Richmond area, lasting until 4 p.m. Thursday afternoon. The NWS stated as of 3:30 p.m. they were getting several reports of a tornado between Hammond and New Richmond. The school district partners with Kobussen Buses, Ltd, according to the district website.
