Community Yard Sale and Celebration on the Courthouse Lawn take place next weekend
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- Next weekend is a busy one in Warrick County, with several fun events planned. Petersburg resident reflects on 35th anniversary of F-4 tornado A community yard sale will take place at the Newburgh Museum from June 12-14 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. June 14 is also Flag Day, and there will be a celebration on the Boonville Courthouse Lawn to commemorate the day. Newburgh Museum hosts classic car show
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- If you're a fan of classic cars or own one, an event hosted by the Newburgh Museum may be for you. Owensboro renames West 2nd St. to BBQ Blvd. during weekend festival Later this month, the museum will host the Classic Boomer Car Show as part of its post-World War II series. The event will take place on May 31 at the Newburgh Museum from noon to 4 p.m., and car entries will cost $25. Classic Boomer Car Show coming to Newburgh
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) — This summer the Classic Boomer Car Show is coming to Newburgh. Organizers say the show is chance to show off cars from 1945-1965, while raising funds for the Newburgh Museum. Who's in the News? Ivy Clark
NEWBURGH, In (WEHT) – Ivy Clark is the Executive Director at the Newburgh Museum. Being born in Owensboro, Clark has lived in Newburgh most of her life, graduating from Castle High School in 2019. Clark says archelogy is a main interest in her life and has been since she was seven, more specifically architectural archelogy, so much so that she memorized every single Woman's Club Historical Marker in downtown Newburgh. Who's in the News? Sheila Patterson Becoming executive director started as being an intern with the museum to finish her degree at the University of Evansville. Clark is also the museum's first executive director. 'As a nonprofit, they have been functioning as a 100% volunteer board and volunteer staff,' she said. 'It took a long time in the making.' Clark is also a substitute teacher where connecting to the younger generation and exposing them ideas and contents about history she finds most intriguing. She gives some insight to the new Boomers Exhibit. 'We're working through a chronological timeline, and this past year we ended with World War II. We're moving into that post war era, and we really want to grab the attention of the Newburgh boomers. This is a time where the population was booming, civil rights movements and so many things were happening. They can come in and share their stories. Share what it was like.' What makes the job worth it for Clark? Meeting the community. 'We have so many wonderful supporters. People come in, tell me their stories. The Newburgh Museum hosts new exhibit and events
HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT)- The Newburgh Museum invites the public to visit and experience its newest exhibit, Newburgh Boomers (1946-1960) and some upcoming events. Mesker Park Zoo welcomes new baby howler monkey On February 27, the museum will host 'Museum Mingle' at 5 p.m. and show a film about Newburgh's African American community during the 1950's.
