What is next for Notre Dame football recruiting in 2026 and beyond
This weekend saw Notre Dame football continue its hot streak in recruiting, as they added 2026 safety Nick Reddish to the class. As it stands now, there are twenty-six commitments, meaning there isn't much room to continue to add prospects to the already impressive group. That doesn't mean that the Irish coaching staff can safely move onto the 2027 class, as none of these current players have signed. There obviously will be more focus on future cycles, but there is still plenty of work to be done with the current group. Find out below what I believe is next for Notre Dame football recruiting, in 2026 and beyond. Land the last big fish, Elijah Golden There is really just one current uncommitted prospect that the Irish are going hard after, the 6-foot, 4-inch and 275-pound Floridian. Golden has concluded his official visits, with the last one being to South Bend on June 20th. He will make his commitment on July 26th, so Notre Dame will soon know if they can add one of the nation's best defensive linemen. Keep the current commits Notre Dame has five commitments from 247Sports top-100 Composite players (Rodney Dunham, Ian Premer, Joey O'Brien, Khary Adams and Javian Osborne), and any school across the country would surely love to add them to their class. This handful is the foundation of this class, and losing any of them would hurt. The Irish can't let off the gas with any of these players, not to mention the rest of the class. Continue to recruit a few committed prospects This era of college football recruiting is littered with players flipping their commitments, and while the Irish's are looking to prevent this, they'll likely be looking at others who could be wavering on their picks. One position that I'd like to see another prospect added at is linebacker, where there are just two current commits. It's not that I don't think that Thomas Davis Jr., and Jakobe Clapper aren't great players, it's more of a depth concern for me. Figure out 2027 quarterback recruiting Notre Dame has fixed its issue with quarterback recruiting under Marcus Freeman, as they'll bring in Noah Grubbs in the 2026 class. He committed over a year ago, and that won't be the case with the 2027 cycle, with just two offers out in Peyton Houston and Teddy Jarrard. Both of them are national-type prospects, and I don't think it's wise for Notre Dame to have waited so long to offer them, and they clearly don't have enough of them out. I'd like to see at least 4-5 more offered, even if they aren't committable. Win the battle for in-state star receiver Monshun Sales It's been a few years since Indiana has had a 5-star prospect, and in 2024 wide receiver Mylan Graham ultimately picked Ohio State. Another one is in the state in 2027 with Sales, who the Irish offered in early-March. At 6-foot, 5-inches and 205-pounds, he's the type of prospect that the Irish are missing in their wide receiver room. A track star as well, Sales is the whole package, and Notre Dame needs to win out in his recruitment.

Notre Dame football offers 4-star Florida 2027 defensive lineman, Santana Harvey
With Notre Dame football adding 2026 safety Nick Reddish on Friday, its is looking like that class is almost full and the focus will now be turned to the 2027 cycle. That proved true on Friday, as the Irish went to Florida and offered Santana Harvey, a 6-foot, 5-inch and 220-pound defensive lineman. He's considered one of the top players in the state, previously holding offers from teams like Oklahoma, Florida State, Michigan State and others. Harvey is ranked as the nation's No. 312 overall player in the 247Sports Composite, is coming off a sophomore season which saw him have 8.5 sacks, 16.5 tackles-for-loss and 60 total tackles. Those are extremely impressive numbers for a prospect who still has two more high school years left. While he has yet to make a visit to South Bend, according to John Garcia Jr. of Rivals, Harvey is working on scheduling a visit to see the Irish. Notre Dame has had very good success recruiting the state of Florida, as three of their 2026 commits hail from the state. They'll look to continue landing prospects from the Sunshine State, and Harvey is one of their next targets.

Wisconsin top class of 2026 safety target Nick Reddish committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Friday. Reddish, who recently whittled his list of finalists down to four, elected to join Marcus Freeman's program over opportunities with the Badgers, Indiana Hoosiers and Virginia Tech Hokies. He becomes the second high-profile 2026 safety target to commit elsewhere in the past few days, following three-star Jowell Combay. Advertisement The rising senior joins a Notre Dame class of 2026 that currently ranks No. 4 in the nation with 26 commitments, including 15 four or five-star recruits. The rising senior received his offer from UW on May 14 before officially visiting Madison the weekend of May 30. He then made a trip to Virginia Tech the weekend of June 6 before a visit with Notre Dame the weekend of June 12. 247Sports considers the Independence High School product the No. 681 overall recruit, No. 57 safety and No. 31 player from his home state of North Carolina. Reddish's chance of landing with Notre Dame did not shock those invested in his recruiting journey. Several recruiting outlets projected the Charlotte, North Carolina, native to join the Fighting Irish, including On3's recruiting machine. Four-star wide receiver Jayden Petit and four-star running back Amari Latimer impacted the program's national standing in late June. Notre Dame football stays hot recruiting adding 2026 3-star safety Nick Reddish
It seems like every time Notre Dame is a finalist for an uncommitted prospect, they're winning out the battle and the trend continued on Friday with 2026 safety Nick Reddish. The 5-foot, 11-inch and 185-pound North Carolina star picked the Irish over Wisconsin, Indiana and Virginia Tech. Notre Dame's 2026 recruiting class now is up to 26 verbals, and there isn't much room left to add any other prospects. Advertisement Reddish is the third safety in the class joining two elite others in Joey O'Brien and Ayden Pouncey. He's a bit smaller than his future teammates, as both of them have the size and frames to outgrow the position. As the No. 681 overall player in the 2026 class according to the 247Sports Composite. He's set to join an absolutely loaded position group, as Adon Shuler is expected to be a starter, while Luke Talich, JaDon Blair, Ben Minich and others battle out for the opposite starting job. That's not including either of the two transfers in Devonta Smith and Jalen Stroman, as the Irish possess one of the deepest units in the country. Reddish is a great addition to the room, as Notre Dame's class continues to impress.
