Tracee Ellis Ross Shared 1 Thing A Date Did That Made Her Cringe

Tracee Ellis Ross' recent dating excursion turned out to be a series of unfortunate events. Ross moseyed on down to 'Jimmy Kimmel Live,' guest-hosted by comedian Nicole Byer, to discuss an array of topics — including the ongoing quest to find one's soulmate. 'It's rough out there. The streets are bad,' Byer said, commenting on the current dating climate. Finding the perfect man is like scoring a one-of-a-kind Gucci purse at a thrift store: to find it, you'll have to dig. And scoring the metaphorical bag was not the case when Ross shared a dating story that left audience members shocked and appalled. 'I'm not gonna tell the whole story, but in a nutshell, [he] sat down, the drinks came, and he took out his phone, put it and leaned it on the glass and watched a basketball game,' she recalled — labeling it as one of the 'worst dates' she's had recently. Ross said she assessed the situation — and after she realized it wasn't a practical joke, she tried to make the best of an awkward situation. 'So I was like, 'So who's playing?' And he put his hand up. As in like, 'Don't let me miss anything.'' In lieu of the ground opening up and swallowing her whole, Ross said she texted her friends, 'I need to leave here.' Byer asked if she stayed and ordered another round, to which Ross replied that it was strictly a one-and-done situation. But, the plot? It thickens. 'My favorite is that he's continued texting me,' she said. Related... Late Night Hopes Trump's New Hosting Gig Will Keep Him Busy

Welcome to Late Night Roundup, a rundown of the previous night's highlights that lets you sleep — and lets us get paid to watch comedy. Here are the 50 best movies on Netflix right now. Not So Humbly Accepting the Honor President Trump announced this year's Kennedy Center honorees on Wednesday, along with the news that he will host this year's ceremony. 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' guest host Nicole Byer said she's glad Trump is going to play host. 'I mean, let him host the Emmys, the Grammys, a podcast with Theo Von, ' she said. 'He could be the host at an Applebee's. Anything that distracts him from running this country into the ground.' — NICOLE BYER 'Yeah! Give him something stupid to do to keep him out of trouble. Hosting award shows is what he envisioned being president is in the first place. [imitating Trump] 'I'll now present the award for Sexiest NATO Ally — and congratulations to the women of Latvia!'' — SETH MEYERS 'Well, guys, after naming himself chairman of the Kennedy Center, today President Trump announced this year's honorees, including Sylvester Stallone and the band Kiss. Sylvester Stallone makes sense. I mean, he really deserves it, and when you think about Trump's first seven months in office, the word 'Rocky' definitely comes to mind.' — JIMMY FALLON 'And Trump said he picked Kiss, because 'they're one of the greatest rock 'n' roll bands of all time.' And also 'cause they wear as much makeup as he does.' — JIMMY FALLON 'Giving Kiss a Kennedy Center honor is like giving Garth Brooks a B.E.T. Award.' — NICOLE BYER 'Other honorees include country legend George Strait and disco legend Gloria Gaynor. Trump was like, 'Something for the straights, something for the gaynors.'' — JIMMY FALLON The Punchiest Punchlines (Putin and Trump Take Alaska Edition) 'Meanwhile, Trump's meeting with Vladimir Putin is almost here, and today Trump warned that Russia will face severe consequences if Putin doesn't agree to end the war. Yup, severe consequences. Putin responded, 'Like what, a second meeting?'' — JIMMY FALLON 'Ahead of Friday's summit with President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the White House is reportedly trying to temper expectations. Of course, now the question is, how do you temper nothing?' — SETH MEYERS 'Well, get this — Trump is hosting Putin at a U.S. military base because it's peak tourist season in Alaska, and the options were limited. This meeting could end a war, and Alaska's like, 'Ooh, sorry, but the Marriott conference room is all tied up with a Rotary Club salmon retreat.'' — JIMMY FALLON 'While speaking yesterday about his upcoming summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, President Trump told reporters that he expects to know whether he can make a peace deal 'probably in the first two minutes.' Or, more likely, he just doesn't wanna stay longer than that: '[imitating Trump] Whelp, we did our best! Thanks for coming in on a Friday!'' — SETH MEYERS Want all of The Times? Subscribe.

Taylor Swift's New Album Is So Major That Fox News Paused Bashing Jimmy Kimmel to Cover It, Nicole Byer Says

The late night guest host's jokes come as Trump says "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" is "next" on the chopping block to be canceled Nicole Byer, who stepped in as a guest host for 'Jimmy Live Live!' Tuesday night, shared the news that Taylor Swift's 12th studio is on the way — a major development that has everyone excited … including Fox News, who Byer said paused their anti-Jimmy Kimmel coverage just to discuss it. 'First, I must address the major news that rocked the nation last night and could forever change the course of human history,' Byer told the audience. 'Taylor Swift is releasing her 12th studio album. So, congratulations white women, you're finally back on top!' Watch the segment below: 'This was such a big news story, Fox News even took a break from bashing Jimmy Kimmel to talk about it,' Byer stated, pulling up a clip of Fox News enthusiastically previewing the announcement meant to be made Wednesday on Travis Kelce's 'New Heights' podcast. Unfortunately, said Fox News broadcast hit a snag when instead of playing a preview of the podcast episode they pulled up news footage of an unidentified street fight from another news story on the broadcast. 'Well, that was not the clip,' the anchor said before Byer jumped back in. 'OK, but I'm still going to pretend it was!' she said. Byer's jokes about Fox News targeting Kimmel came amid heightened speculation that President Donald Trump has his thumb on the scale of network staffing decisions after Paramount and CBS canceled 'The Late Show With Stephen Colbert' last month. While the president has maintained he wasn't responsible for CBS canceling the program, the Trump camp has continued to suggest certain programs that criticize him are at risk of a similar fate. Back in July, the Trump administration said 'The View,' which has continuously criticized Trump, is 'next to be pulled off the air.' That same month, Trump stated that he 'absolutely' loves that Colbert was fired and said he heard Kimmel was next to go. He later doubled down on his predictions that Kimmel would be 'next,' and added Jimmy Fallon into the mix. 'Fallon has no talent. Kimmel has no talent,' Trump said during a press conference on Aug. 6, according to Fox News. 'They're next. They're going to be going. I hear they're going to be going. I don't know, but I would imagine because they'd get — you know, Colbert has better ratings than Kimmel or Fallon.' Swift announced the news of her upcoming album 'The Life of a Showgirl' via her website on Monday. On Wednesday, she shared that the album will drop Oct. 3. 'Kimmel' Guest Host Nicole Byer Makes A 'Dangerous' Example Out Of Trump's D.C. Talk

Jimmy Kimmel Live! guest host Nicole Byer on Monday had a blunt reminder for President Donald Trump over his false claims about 'out of control' crime in the District of Columbia — talk he pushed while announcing plans to take control of the police force in the nation's capital. 'I mean, the man's got a point. D.C. can be a very, very dangerous place. I remember, on Jan. 6, 2021, when someone told an angry mob to get their steps in by storming the Capitol. And that someone was the president!' quipped the comedian in a nod to the deadly riot. Byer went on to suggest that she went too far, adding that she didn't want to get Kimmel in 'trouble' before his return to the program. She proceeded to take a much more flattering tone, 'Great job, Mr. President! Oh my God, you go, girl! We love what you're doing! You're the smartest man alive, you're hung like a tarantula!'
