BJD MPs meet Odisha fire victim at AIIMS Delhi
Agency: PTI Bhubaneswar, Jul 21 (PTI) A delegation of BJD MPs on Monday met the 15-year-old girl, who is struggling for her life after suffering 70 per cent burn injuries, at AIIMS Delhi and enquired about her health condition, party sources said. The girl was set on fire by three unidentified miscreants when she was returning home from her friend's house in Balanga area in Odisha's Puri district on Saturday morning. She was first rushed to the government hospital in Pipili and later admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar. On Sunday, she was airlifted to AIIMS Delhi for better treatment. Her condition remained critical, as per the hospital bulletin issued on Sunday. The delegation of BJD MPs that visited AIIMS Delhi comprised Sasmit Patra, Manas Ranjan Mangaraj, Sulata Deo and Niranjan Bishi. They met the victim and also interacted with the attending doctors to enquire about her health condition. They also met the family members of the victim and assured them of all possible support. Taking to X, Mangaraj said, 'Under the directions of Hon'ble BJD President Shri @Naveen_Odisha, we, the BJD Rajya Sabha MPs, met the Balanga (Nimapada) burn victim at AIIMS, New Delhi. We discussed her health conditions with the medical team and also spoke to her uncle." Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who hails from Odisha, had also visited the Balanga victim on Saturday, sources said. Parida presents 1st yr achievements at Utkarsh Nimapada
Bhubaneswar: Deputy chief minister and Nimapada MLA Pravati Parida presented a comprehensive report card of her first year in office during the second session of the 'Utkarsh Nimapada Conference' on Friday. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Parida, who made history as Odisha's first female deputy CM, expressed gratitude for the support she received from constituents and highlighted her administration's achievements across various sectors. "Within a year, we brought 33 officers from 11 departments to the Utkarsh Conference. I fulfilled my election promise of bringing administration closer to the people," said the deputy chief minister. The development initiatives outlined include significant investments across multiple sectors, such as Rs 213 crore for different drinking water projects, Rs 146 crore for transportation, Rs 22.44 crore for education, and Rs 17 lakh for the 'Swarga Rath' service. Notable projects include the Gop mega drinking water project, renovation of eight temples, and introduction of animal care ambulance services. The administration focused on infrastructure development, including water drainage systems and road construction, officials said. The conference featured interactive sessions on various themes, including agriculture, industrial development, skill development, disaster resilience, tourism, arts, and culture. Stakeholders discussed the roadmap for Utkarsh Nimapada-2036 during the conference. The two-day conference saw active participation from the citizens, who shared their concerns and offered suggestions for improvement in various sectors. Officials noted that public suggestions would form the foundation for future development plans.
