SheShakti 2025: Nimrat Kaur Reveals Her Biggest Dream Post-Hollywood, Says 'I Aspire To...'
Last Updated: At SheShakti 2025, Nimrat Kaur revealed her dream after Hollywood success—becoming a symbol of inspiration for young girls from small towns across India. At the recently held Lions International Presents News18 SheShakti in Mumbai — the regional chapter of one of India's largest celebrations of women achievers — actor Nimrat Kaur brought a dose of grounded grace and global perspective. Known for her nuanced performances across both Bollywood and Hollywood, Nimrat opened up about her journey, ambitions, and what she truly hopes to leave behind — not just on screens, but in hearts. The Lunchbox star, who has also played pivotal roles in international hits like Homeland and Wayward Pines, was in conversation with journalist Rubika Liyaqat. When asked about the arc of her career — especially her transition from Indian cinema to playing an ISI agent on American television — and where she envisions herself in the next 5-10 years, Nimrat offered a refreshingly unpretentious answer. 'I'm on my way to creating a space where I won't say it's a legacy I want to leave — that sounds too self-important," she reflected. 'If it happens because of the choices I make, wonderful. But I want to reach a place where a girl from a small town, a galli or a kasba, can look at me and say, 'She's one of us. If she can go there, so can I.'" This sentiment — rooted not in red carpets but real aspirations — perfectly encapsulates why Nimrat Kaur remains a force to reckon with, both onscreen and off. In 2024-25, Nimrat has continued to diversify her portfolio. She starred in the high-flying action drama Sky Force opposite Akshay Kumar and newcomer Veer Pahariya. She also made a special appearance in Kaalidhar Laapata, reuniting with Dasvi co-star Abhishek Bachchan, lending a heartfelt dimension to the narrative. Next up? A detective comedy with Sunny Kaushal and 12th Fail breakout Medha Shankr — a film that promises to show Nimrat in a breezier, fun avatar, breaking away from her more intense past roles. As SheShakti continues its journey to Delhi on August 21, voices like Nimrat's are a reminder that empowerment isn't always about dominance — sometimes, it's about quiet, persistent evolution.
