Arjun Kapoor pens heartfelt tribute for dadi Nirmal Kapoor: ‘A part of my life went away with her'
Producer Boney Kapoor and actors Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor's mother, Nirmal Kapoor, died on May 2 at Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. Actor Arjun Kapoor took to his Instagram account on Thursday to pen a heartfelt tribute to his late grandmother, sharing a series of throwback pictures from his childhood with her. Arjun said that even though she is not here anymore, her 'legacy will live on'. In a video, Arjun asked her to tell the people on Instagram how she liked his movie. Nirmal smiled and said, 'Bohot acchi (very nice).' Arjun giggled and said that's all she could say. Another throwback picture saw Nirmal carrying little Arjun on her arms and feeding him cake. In another picture taken many years ago, Nirmal was seen smiling with little Arjun and his sister Anshula. I bid goodbye to Dadi last Friday at the hospital, it felt like a part of my childhood & my life went away with her… thru all the ups & downs life gives us somehow our grandparents give us only love & reasons to smile…' He added, 'Age is a cruel mistress who confines us to issues at some point in life but dadi for me was always just the same always feeding us always worried about us always there…now she won't be… but I feel thru her 4 children & all of us grand children her legacy will live on…' 'Everytime we come together for a festival or a meal or an event her memories will continue to make us remember her in all her glory… Love u dadi Aapka khabsoorat grandson ARJAN( she always said my name like that 🥹)' he said in the caption. Nirmal Kapoor was married to Surinder Kapoor, a well-known producer in the film industry. They had four children: Boney, Anil, Sanjay, and Reena Kapoor Marwah. After the news of her death, several Bollywood celebrities like Javed Akhtar, Rani Mukerji, Anupam Kher, Jackie Shroff, and Veer Pahariya visited the family to offer condolences. Her funeral took place on Saturday at Vile Parle Crematorium, Pawan Hans, Mumbai.

Cabinet nod to extension of Nidaan, Nirmal health schemes
Bhubaneswar: Odisha govt on Wednesday approved the continuance of free diagnostic and dialysis programme (NIDAAN) and strengthening of ancillary services at public health facilities (Nirmal) schemes for the next five years. The decision was taken in a cabinet meeting held here is designed to augment free diagnostic and dialysis services at public health facilities at an estimated budget of Rs 2,459.5 crore. Under this scheme, patients will have access to 16 types of tests at sub-centres, 65 at primary health centres (PHCs), 103 at community health centres (CHCs), 121 at sub-divisional hospitals (SDHs), 146 at district headquarters hospitals (DHHs), and 221 at medical colleges and hospitals (MCHs) for diagnosis and management of various diseases and health Nirmal scheme is being implemented to strengthen ancillary services at public health facilities, including linen and laundry services, security services, and attendant services, at an estimated budget of Rs 5,174.7 crore for five years. The scheme aims to provide a better ambience for patients and their attendants at public health facilities, to minimise hospital-acquired infections, to improve patient satisfaction, and to prepare public health facilities to receive good certificates on cleanliness.

Anil Kapoor's mother Nirmal Kapoor dies at 90: Karan Johar, Ananya Panday and other pay last respects
Veteran Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor's mother, Nirmal Kapoor, passed away on Friday evening at a private hospital in Mumbai. She was 90 and had been suffering from age-related health issues, PTI reported citing its source. Various actors like Karan Johar and Ananya Pandya from the industry arrived at Kapoor's residence to say her a heartfelt goodbye. "Nirmal Kapoor ji passed away today at around 5:20 pm due to age-related issues at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. She was admitted to the hospital a few days ago," the report said. Her last rites will be held on Saturday morning at Pawan Hans crematorium. CEO and Executive Director of Kokilaben Ambani Hospital, Dr Santosh Shetty said Nirmal 'passed away peacefully at the hospital around 5.25 pm today', ANI reported. On Friday night, several Bollywood biggies, including Raveena Tandon, Ramesh Sippy, Jackie Shroff and other visited the actor's home to pay their last respect. Nirmal Kapoor was married to film producer Surinder Kapoor, who died in 2011. Known for producing films like Woh Saat Din, Hum Paanch, Loafer, Judaai, and Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai, he was a venerated personality in the industry. Their four children are -- Anil, Reena, Boney and Sanjay and grandchildren include Sonam Kapoor, Rhea, Harshvardhan, Arjun, Janhvi, Khushi and Anshula, Shanaya, Jahaan, and Mohit Marwah. Anil had put a carousel of heartwarming pictures which comprised one of his childhood with his mother Nirmal on her 90th birthday in September. In another picture, the Kapoor family can be seen taking part in festivities together with Nirmal in the centre. In the post, Anil stated, '90 years of love, strength, and endless sacrifices. Your presence fills our lives with joy and positivity every day. Blessed to be your child. Happy birthday, Mummy!'
