Rahul Gandhi accuses Nitish government of turning Bihar into a hub of crime and unemployment
Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government, accusing it of turning the state into a hub of crime, unemployment, and forced migration. His remarks came in response to a disturbing incident in Gaya, where a doctor was allegedly assaulted for treating the mother of a rape survivor. In a strongly worded post on X (formerly Twitter), Gandhi cited a video posted by the Bihar Congress that showed Dr. Jitendra Yadav tied to a tree and brutally beaten. The incident reportedly occurred after the doctor visited the home of a rape survivor in Gaya to provide medical care to her mother. The assailants, believed to be linked to the rape accused, reportedly attacked the doctor in retaliation after one of the accused was arrested. 'Despite being in power for 20 years, Nitishji's double-engine government could neither provide security, nor respect, nor development to Bihar,' Gandhi wrote in Hindi. 'Crime, unemployment, and migration — this has become the real identity of the Nitish-BJP government. Their agenda is to cling to power by making the public helpless.' Calling for an end to what he described as the 'politics of power,' Gandhi added, 'Now it is enough. The time has come to break this cycle of injustice and take Bihar ahead on the path of security, self-respect, and dignity.' Congress spokesperson Shama Mohamed also condemned the state of law and order in Bihar. Referring to a separate recent incident where a 9-year-old rape victim was allegedly denied treatment and died, Mohamed said, 'Who is running Bihar? The Modi-Nitish Kumar government has completely surrendered the state to criminals and goons.'

Congress stages march for justice to Muz rape victim after her death
1 2 3 4 Patna: Congress organised a 'halla-bol' march in Patna on Monday to demand justice for the 11-year-old Muzaffarpur dalit girl, who was raped and brutally assaulted on May 26 and died at the PMCH during treatment on Sunday morning. The accused, who was arrested, had partially slit her throat and stabbed the girl multiple times after rape. Her vocal cords were badly damaged. Congress has alleged negligence in her treatment and said she was referred from the SKMCH on Saturday to the PMCH where the poor girl struggling for life was kept waiting in the ambulance and taken to different wards for almost 4 hours before she was provided a bed. Her uncle also alleged gross negligence and delay on the part of the PMCH doctors. However, the PMCH administration refuted all the allegations. The Congress men, led by state party president Rajesh Kumar, Youth Congress national president Uday Bhanu Chib and AICC in charge of state Congress Krishna Allavaru, started the march from Sadaquat Ashram to CM house before the police stopped them near Rajapur Pul and detained some of the leaders when they tried to jump the barricades. Those detained included Chib and Bihar Youth Congress state president Shiv Prakash Garibdas. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Der geniale 7-Minuten-Trick gegen Nagelpilz Heilratgeber Weiterlesen Undo There was a scuffle between the Congress leaders and the police. "Agar ye sarkar nahi mani to hum int se int baja denge…Jab jab Nitish darte hain to police ko aage karte hain," Rajesh said when the police stopped them from moving forward. Chib alleged that dalit women are being exploited during the Nitish Kumar rule, while the double engine govt has no control over crime or corruption. He also said the "irresponsible" Nitish-BJP govt pushed a minor dalit rape victim towards death due to govt mismanagement. RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav also attacked the state govt and said all the NDA people were busy only in holding political meetings. "Everyone is busy with elections. No one in the govt is ready to share the pain of the people of Bihar or get them justice," he said. Rajesh slammed the BJP for criticising Congress for raising questions and calling it politics. BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal had said there should be no politics on such issues and "strict action will be taken against the culprits. This is a very sad incident, Congress should not do politics on this".

'Janata sab yaad rakhegi': RJD slams PM Modi and Nitish for holding rally in poll bound Bihar just days after Pahalgam terror attack
NEW DELHI: The Rashtriya Janata Dal ( RJD ) launched a strong criticism against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar for conducting a political rally in Bihar while the nation mourned the victims of the recent Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. RJD leader Sanju Kohli put up posters featuring PM Modi and Nitish Kumar, bearing the message: "Ek taraf matam mana raha hai, doosri taraf rally. Janata sab yaad rakhegi" (On one side, the country is mourning, on the other side, a rally. The public will remember everything). This follows Prime Minister's rally in Bihar's Madhubani, from where he issued a stern warning to terrorists on April 22, pledging to "identify, track, and punish" those responsible for the Pahalgam terror attack that claimed 26 lives. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Invest $200 in Amazon without buying stocks to earn a second salary Marketsall Sign Up Undo Addressing his first public gathering since the attack, PM Modi expressed the nation's grief and assured decisive action against the perpetrators. "On April 22, terrorists killed innocent people of the country in J&K's Pahalgam... The country is sad and in pain after this incident. We stand with the families of the victims. The terrorists will not be spared, strong action will be taken against them," PM Modi said. Ahead of PM Modi's rally, RJD took a jibe at PM Modi and alleged that the state administration is pressuring local officials and representatives to ensure crowd attendance at the event. "The pyres of the victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack have not yet been lit, but the country's Prime Minister will come to Bihar tomorrow to campaign and deliver speeches because Bihar is holding elections this year," RJD had said in a post on X. "The Nitish-BJP government is exerting immense pressure on BDOs, DTOs, DMs, SPs, and others to mobilize crowds. On government orders, officials are intimidating and threatening panch, sarpanch, ward members, committee members, and mukhiyas to gather and bring crowds. They are being forced to go to Madhubani," it added. The attack, carried out by terrorists at Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam on Tuesday, is one of the deadliest in the Valley since the 2019 Pulwama strike in which 40 CRPF jawans were killed. The attack was one of the biggest terror attacks in the region after the abrogation of Article 370 in 2019.

"All top JDU leaders are engaged in the Prime Minister's program in Madhubani district today, so we are not able to attend the all-party meeting. Whatever decision will be taken in the meeting, JDU will stand with the government decision and support the Government in the country's interest," JDU working president Sanjay Kumar Jha said. The Centre will brief leaders of various political parties on the Pahalgam terror attack and hear their views at the meeting. India on Wednesday announced a series of steps to give a strong message to Pakistan for its support of cross-border terrorism, stating that the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 will be held in abeyance and the integrated checkpost at Attari will be closed with immediate effect.
