Blumhouse Drops First Poster For ‘Five Nights At Freddy's 2'

Blumhouse has dropped the first poster for the sequel to its box-office horror phenomenon Five Nights at Freddy's. The reveals were made Sunday night at the CCXP festival in Mexico City. Based on the blockbuster game series, Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is directed by acclaimed returning filmmaker Emma Tammi. Five Nights at Freddy's 2 is again produced by Jason Blum and Scott Cawthon. Lee And Blumhouse The highest-grossing horror film of 2023, its sequels plot hasn't been disclosed. Shattering expectations in 2023 with a $300M worldwide gross, Five Night at Freddy's adapts Scott Cawthon's popular video game franchise of the same name and follows Mike (Josh Hutcherson), a troubled young man who reluctantly takes a job as a night security guard at an abandoned theme restaurant, Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria, hoping it will help him retain custody of his young sister. That fateful decision instead drags him into the black heart of a supernatural nightmare. The film was one of several items that were unveiled at the festival Sunday including a new trailer and poster for the upcoming sequel to The Black Phone. Blumhouse Founder and CEO Jason Blum took the stage in Mexico City to mark the company's 15th anniversary and unveil a slate of updates, exclusive footage and surprise reveals. James Wan, Atomic Monster CEO + Founder, was also in attendance and introduced the trailer for Blumhouse's big summer pic M3GAN 2.0, which bows on June 27.

‘Phasmophobia' Film In The Works: Blumhouse To Adapt Paranormal Horror Game

Popular paranormal horror game Phasmophobia is getting a film adaptation from Blumhouse. The production company known for its horror films made the announcement at its first-ever The Business of Fear in Hollywood. The game has surpassed 23 million in global sales and has become a genre-defining title in multiplayer horror gaming. The game is a horror investigation survival game played from a first-person point of view. The player can work alone or with a group of people to identify the type of ghost haunting a specific location. Blumhouse and Atomic Monster will produce the film in association with Kinetic Games Limited. In July 2024, Blumhouse commissioned a survey to classify 100 prominent horror films from the past 50 years into subgenres. The results identified the paranormal subgenre as one of the 24 thriving subgenres, with other examples including survival, slasher, and psychological thriller, among others. During its first The Business of Fear event today, Blumhouse CEO/Founder Jason Blum and President Abhijay Prakash, Atomic Monster CEO/Founder James Wan and horror analyst/author Stephen Follows spoke about the ways in which horror has grown and expanded in recent years, with subgenres an important way to entertain the diverse tastes of its audience. Blumhouse's latest releases include Drop, The Woman in the Yard, Wolf Man, House of Spoils, Speak No Evil, Afraid, Imaginary, Night Swim, Five Nights at Freddy's, and The Exorcist: Believer. The studio's upcoming releases include M3GAN 2.0 (June 27, 2025), Black Phone 2 (October 17, 2025), and Five Nights at Freddy's 2 (December 5, 2025).
