Metallica to rock 2025 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Metallica will rock the 2025 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The heavy metal legends will play an after-race concert on Yas Island on December 6. On December 3, meanwhile, James Hetfield and co will play their first-ever concert in Bahrain at Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre. Tickets to the show in Bahrain will be available via on Thursday, April 24. The 'Nothing Else Matters' rockers first performed on Yas Island in 2011, and returned in 2013. David Powell, chief strategy and business development officer at Ethara, organisers of the Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, commented "Metallica deliver life-changing shows. They are the perfect addition to the 2025 F1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix and Yasalam offering. Saturday will be a day not to miss for F1 and rock fans alike." Meanwhile, Metallica are among the mighty metallers set to join Black Sabbath at their charity concert at Birmingham's Villa Park on July 5. Ozzy is set to reunite with Sabbath members Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward for the first time in 20 years. The Prince of Darkness will join the group for a select number of tracks, although his health issues - including Parkinson's disease - won't allow him to perform a full set. Drummer Bill hasn't played with the group since 2005, having skipped 2013's comeback record '13' and their 'The End' tour eight years ago, due to a contract dispute. As well as his old bandmates, the gig will also feature an all-star lineup also including the likes of Guns N' Roses, Slayer, Anthrax, and many more.

Metallica's ‘Enter Sandman' Helps The Band Reach A Never-Before-Seen Milestone

Metallica's 'Enter Sandman' has now spent an incredible 750 weeks on the Official Rock & Metal ... [+] Singles chart, solidifying its status as the band's longest-running U.K. hit. While the group has scored numerous bestselling hits in the United Kingdom throughout the decades, one track stands out as not just the most successful in many regards, but also the longest-running on one chart that the Grammy winners know very well. 'Enter Sandman' is Metallica's only hit in the United Kingdom this week. Sometimes, the group fills multiple spots with several beloved songs and a number of popular albums. This frame is a quiet one for the superstars, though even during its tamest periods, Metallica still manages to do what few before have managed. 'Enter Sandman' keeps on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart this week. It declines one spot to No. 15, but the number of frames it has spent on the tally is worthy of note. As of this period, 'Enter Sandman' has spent 750 weeks on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart. That means it has stood out as one of the 40 bestselling tunes in rock, metal, hard rock, and other closely related subgenres throughout the U.K., one of the world's most important music markets, for 750 terms. That's a nearly incomprehensible level of popularity and longevity that few artists could muster. 'Enter Sandman' is far and away Metallica's longest-running hit on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart. It doesn't quite double the length of time that 'Nothing Else Matters' has spent on the same list, but it's not far away from doing so. So far, 'Nothing Else Matters' has collected 416 stays on the tally and will likely add to that sum again. Three other Metallica classics have racked up triple-digit stays on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart. 'Mama Said' ranks third in the group's discography with 143 weeks. 'The Unforgiven II' and 'Whiskey in the Jar' come next, with 135 and 109 turns, respectively. Metallica may only claim just one 750-week charter, but several other tunes by different acts have managed to hold on for just as long, if not significantly longer, on the Official Rock & Metal Singles chart. The No. 1 bestseller this time around is 'Iris' by the Goo Goo Dolls, which is now up to 925 turns on the tally. A number of other tracks, like Queen's 'Don't Stop Me Now,' Linkin Park's 'Numb,' Guns N' Roses' 'Sweet Child O' Mine,' and Evanescence's 'Bring Me to Life,' which all still live inside the top 10, have already passed 800 stints on the ranking.

Kittie Team Up with Diamante and The Pretty Wild to Cover Metallica's 'The Unforgiven': Stream

The post Kittie Team Up with Diamante and The Pretty Wild to Cover Metallica's 'The Unforgiven': Stream appeared first on Consequence. Kittie have teamed up with Diamante and The Pretty Wild for a cover of Metallica's 'The Unforgiven,' included on the soundtrack for the upcoming Sumerian Films biopic Queen of the Ring. The cover, which also features composer Aaron Gilhuis, offers a chance for Kittie to mellow out, setting aside their usual aggressive thrash-metal sound, just like Metallica did when they recorded the iconic ballad. Kittie singer Morgan Lander and her fellow collaborators are backed by sweeping strings and acoustic instrumentation, with the song's crescendo unfolding into a lush Celtic folk arrangement. For Metallica fans, the cover might trigger a flashback to the cinematic treatment of 'Nothing Else Matters' for the Disney film Jungle Cruise. It's also the second cover song we've heard from the Queen of the Ring soundtrack to involve major metal-leaning artists. We previously reported on Corey Taylor and Bad Omens' version of the Kansas classic 'Dust in the Wind,' which was produced, mixed, and mastered by Gilhuis, and also relies on a similar Celtic folk influence and powerful vocal performances. The soundtrack for Queen of the Ring is set to release the day the film premieres on March 7th via Sumerian Records, the label of the movie's director/writer Ash Avildsen (American Satan). Per a press release, Queen of the Ring 'brings to life the untold story of wrestling legend Mildred Burke, who shattered barriers in the 1930s–1950s to become the first million-dollar female athlete and headline arenas over male competitors in a time when women's wrestling was outright banned across much of the US.' The film stars Emily Bett Rickards as Burke, alongside a cast featuring Josh Lucas, Walton Goggins, Gavin Casalegno, Tyler Posey, and Deborah Ann Woll, along with pro-wrestling stars Kamille, Toni Storm, Trinity Fatu, and Jim Cornette making appearances. Meanwhile, Kittie are coming off the 2024 release of their comeback album Fire. The reunited Canadian band toured in support of the release last year and currently has a festival appearance at Louder Than Life on the books for 2025. Stream the cover of 'The Unforgiven' below.
