Sabrina Carpenter, Busta Rhymes to perform at MTV Video Music Awards
Aug. 18 (UPI) -- MTV has announced a first round of performers and honorees for the MTV Music Video Awards. Alex Warren, Busta Rhymes, J Balvin ft. DJ Snake, Ricky Martin, Sabrina Carpenter and Sombr will take the stage at the awards show in September. J Balvin will perform the live premiere of "Noventa," his song with DJ Snake, as well as "Zun Zun" with Justin Quiles and Lenny Tavárez. In addition, Rhymes will be honored with the first-ever MTV VMA Rock the Bells Visionary Award, while Martin will receive the first-ever Latin Icon Award. LL Cool J was previously announced to host the MTV VMAs Sept. 7 at UBS Arena in New York. The show will air at 8 p.m. EDT on CBS and MTV, and also stream on Paramount+. Lady Gaga leads this year's nominees with 12 nominations, including Video of the Year. Bruno Mars follows with 11 nominations, Kendrick Lamar with 10, and Rosé and Sabrina Carpenter with eight each. J-Balvin hires family to dance in 'Noventa' music video
Michelle Batista submitted an audition video for a dancing role in a music video. J-Balvin liked it so much, he hired all three of them to be in his "Noventa" music video.

DJ Snake and J Balvin Reunite With a 90s-Inspired Summer Anthem 'Noventa'
DJ Snake and J Balvin are back together and the result is pure reggaeton nostalgia. Their new track 'Noventa' dropped today, July 2, channeling the explosive chemistry fans first witnessed on 2019's 'Loco Contigo.' Fusing DJ Snake's genre-defying production with Balvin's signature cool, 'Noventa' nods to the colorful chaos of the 90s. The single comes with a VHS-style music video shot in New York City, complete with street cyphers and lo-fi energy that bring the throwback vision to life. 'Noventa' leads the rollout for DJ Snake's upcoming album Nomad, due later this year and sets the tone for a project built to move across borders, genres, and generations.
