‘Bonkers!': Ginnifer Goodwin Reflects on Once Upon a Time Musical Episode Anniversary — WATCH
When I most unexpectedly reunited with the age-defying Ginnifer Goodwin on the Disney Upfront's blue carpet earlier this month, I had recently gotten a Facebook 'memory' about the Once Upon a Time musical episode, which aired eight years prior (and for which I was on-set, in March 2017). So after talking a bit about her voice acting encore as police rabbit Judy Hopps in Disney's Zootopia 2 (due in theaters Nov. 26!), I had to invite Ginny to reflect on OUAT's 'The Song in Your Heart,' which aired May 7, 2017, saw her duet with husband Josh Dallas' Charming, and teed up that season's two-part finale. For one, she had a nine-year-old at her hip (her and Dallas' second-born child, Hugo). Plus, 'I was terrified' about singing on-camera, she admits. 'It was a big deal for me to not go running.' We then give props to Dallas' own pipes, which were put to good use in the musical episode's opening number, 'Powerful Magic.' For 'The Song in Your Heart,' OUAT creators Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis enlisted songwriters Alan Zachary and Michael Weiner to hash out the grand plan, which led to seven original tunes being penned: 'Powerful Magic,' 'Love Doesn't Stand a Chance' (led by Lana Parrilla), 'Revenge Is Gonna Be Mine' (led by Colin O'Donoghue), 'Wicked Always Wins' (Rebecca Mader), 'Charmings vs. Evil Queen' (Goodwin, Dallas and Parrilla), 'Emma's Theme' (Jennifer Morrison), and the #CaptainSwan wedding song 'A Happy Beginning' (ft. Morrison, O'Donoghue, Goodwin, Dallas, Parrilla, Mader and kinda-sorta Jared Gilmore). 'I said that in theory I was keen' on doing a musical episode, Goodwin told me on-set back in 2017, 'but the truth is when it became a reality I grew terrified, and asked if I could be a doo-wop girl in the background. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurates temporary KV building, lays foundation for permanent campus in Dhenkanal
Dhenkanal (Odisha) [India], May 23 (ANI): In a step toward strengthening foundational education, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated a temporary building for Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) on Friday and laid the foundation stone for its permanent campus in Dhenkanal, Odisha. The occasion also reaffirmed the government's commitment to implementing the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 across all states. Speaking to ANI, Pradhan emphasised the NEP's focus on regional languages in early education. 'Under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, we have decided that in all the states of India--in the foundational and preparatory stages, in Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), and in the NIPUN Bharat Mission--education must be provided in the children's mother tongue in the initial years,' he said. He noted that the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has already issued a circular directing schools across the country to commence school education in regional languages. 'This move aligns with NEP's vision to make learning more inclusive and effective for young students,' Pradhan stated. 'To take our country's new generation to the global level, we must fully implement the National Education Policy,' Pradhan added, underlining the importance of culturally rooted yet globally competitive education. Earlier in the day, Dharmendra Pradhan also inaugurated the newly constructed auditorium at the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT) in the Chiplima region of Sambalpur district. According to his post on the social media platform X, Rs 10.5 crores were invested to upgrade the auditorium. 'OUAT, Chiplima will be a bridge between 'Developed Odisha' and 'Developed India'.I am happy to inaugurate the new state-of-the-art auditorium of OUAT Chiplima Agricultural College in Sambalpur. This auditorium will be of great help in the intellectual development of the students and in enhancing the skills of the farmers of Sambalpur and the surrounding districts. I thank the Chief Minister @MohanMOdisha for taking steps to upgrade this auditorium with an investment of about Rs 10.5 crore,' Pradhan post on X read. He also thanked Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi for his efforts in facilitating the auditorium's development. (ANI)

Ganjam KVK develops app to aid crab farming
1 2 Berhampur: The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Ganjam-II, under Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), has developed an app to assist farmers in crab farming. The 'Crab Farming' app, claimed to be the first of its kind, was launched by Arabinda Padhee, principal secretary, agriculture and farmers' empowerment department, during the state-level research and extension council meeting held at OUAT in Bhubaneswar recently. The app was developed by a team of scientists from KVK (Golanthara), including S K Nath, senior scientist, S S Das (fisheries), and B R Palai, an IT professional. "The app is available on Google Play Store. It is designed to provide comprehensive information and guidance to farmers interested in starting or improving their crab farming ventures," said Nath. "The main objective of the app is to promote crab farming for fostering entrepreneurship, technological advancement and sustainability in the brackish water fisheries sector," he added. He said with practical tips on the best farming techniques, feed management, water quality control and disease prevention, the app addresses almost all queries of farmers to conduct successful crab farming. "It will help rural youths, small and marginal farmers, as well as well-to-do interested persons, to adopt crab farming as a successful and profitable venture," he further said. "With a long coastline of 575 km, the state has ample opportunity for brackish water aquaculture. Apart from shrimp culture, mud crab cultivation and fattening is a profitable enterprise for the coastal saline ecosystem. Depending on the farming method and market price, a farmer can earn up to Rs 6 lakh per annum per acre through scientific crab farming," Nath said.
