Hotel prices shot up in Dublin for Oasis - but it's still cheapest spot on tour
Hotel prices have shot up across Dublin ahead of the Oasis shows this weekend - but the capital is still the cheapest spot to catch the Live Forever hitmakers. With the Mancunian icons set to play two nights at Dublin's Croke Park on August 16 and 17, new research from Grosvenor Casinos shows that the Irish capital is the cheapest stop on the reunion tour, but fans will still be paying more than usual for a place to stay. Hotel prices in Dublin have risen by 70 per cent for the concert dates, the second-smallest increase after London, with the average room costing €413 per night, up from €243 just three weeks later. When tickets first went on sale, searches for "hotels near Croke Park" and related terms peaked at 243,600 in August 2024, reflecting the surge in demand. But it wasn't just Dublin, accommodation costs across five major cities hosting the Oasis 2025 tour have soared, with some prices rising by over 450 per cent on concert night compared to exactly three weeks later. Manchester records the most extreme price hike, with hotel costs increasing by 454 per cent, from €88 on a typical night to €488 during the tour – a total rise of €400. Interest in the area also spikes, with Google searches for "cheap hotel near Heaton Park" rising by 1,300 per cent over the past 12 months. In August, when tickets were originally released, search volume peaked at 113k across this and related terms such as "places to stay near Heaton park" and "Heaton park hotels". A general view of Oasis fans arriving at the Oasis Live '25 Tour at Wembley Stadium on July 25, 2025 in London, England (Image:) Cardiff follows closely behind, with prices surging by 420 per cent, from €131 to €682, an increase of €551, making it the most expensive city overall to stay in on concert night. Google searches for "Cardiff hotel rooms" jumped by 13,355 per cent over the past year, with fans eager to secure accommodation for the opening weekend of the tour. Related search terms for "Cardiff Oasis tickets" also rose by over 50 per cent in June compared to May, increasing from 35,100 to 53,160. Dublin sees a notable increase, with hotel costs rising from €244 to €413. This is a 70 per cent increase (€169). Searches for 'hotels near Scottish Gas Murrayfield' reached 80,420 in August, aligning with the ticket launch. London sees the smallest price spike, with hotel prices rising by 22 per cent, from €501 to €611, an increase of €110. However, demand still grows, with Google searches for "hotels in Wembley Stadium area" rising by 200 per cent year-on-year. Searches peak in September at 101,980, a month after the ticket release. Tickets for the Oasis reunion sold out across all venues due to huge demand when they went online earlier in the year. However, there are still several options available for fans trying to snag a last-minute spot. Limited last-minute tickets can be bought from the official Ticketmaster resale site, where fans who can no longer go sell their seats, although these tend to go into and out of stock quickly. Elsewhere, resale sites like Viagogo, Vivid Seats, StubHub and Twickets are selling tickets for various dates, although fans should always bear in mind that many official sites, such as Ticketmaster and Live Nation, discourage the purchase of resale tickets. Meanwhile Seat Unique has some VIP tickets available offering a host of additional perks alongside access to the gig. Eye-watering price of an Oasis Edinburgh hotel room as thousands head for Murrayfield
Hotels in the capital city have seen an 88 per cent hike in price as fans clamour for a bed for the night after seeing their idols With Oasis set to play at Edinburgh's Murrayfield for three nights from tonight (Friday 8 August) new research has shown the staggering price of a hotel in the city while the Britpop idols are in town. Data shows that the capital city has seen prices surge meaning fans could face paying more for a bed than for their ticket. Hotel prices in every city on the Gallagher brother's reunion tour have seen massive spikes, but Edinburgh has seen one of the steepest, according to the study by Grosvenor Casinos. They found the average cost of a bed for the night on the dates Oasis are playing at Murrayfield has soared by 88 per cent. And that means Scottish fans are having to shell out £430 for one night's accommodation after the concert. The city is currently hosting the Edinburgh International Festival until August 24 which sees around four million visitors annually descend on Auld Reekie. Last August, brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher surprised fans by announcing they would reunite for the first time since their explosive split in 2009, with the landmark Oasis 2025 shows starting in Cardiff on Friday, July 4 and Saturday, July 5. This will be the first time the brothers have performed together in well over a decade. From superstar gigs to cosy pubs, find out What's On in Wales by signing up to our newsletter here . READ MORE: Oasis fan encounter that shows Liam Gallagher's true colours LATEST: Noel Gallagher's net worth and how he got in trouble sticking up for a pop icon 20-year-old Jas Griffin-Jones had travelled all the way from Widnes to Liverpool to get to the Welsh capital at 10.30pm on Wednesday night. When asked what it was like to camp overnight, she said: "It's all right. I thought it was nice. "It was a bit noisy, but it was to be expected. I slept a little bit, maybe like four hours. I was just really excited, so I just couldn't sleep properly. "We are camping here again tonight, I'm going to need all the sleep tonight because the gig is tomorrow." Jas has been joined by her friend 37-year-old Laura, who has travelled from Paris to get to the gig. The two became friends through a mutual friend and their love for Noel Gallagher's band - Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. While Jas has camped in the city centre on Wednesday, Thursday would be Laura's first night sleeping in her Union Jack themed tent. As she showed, the two had come prepared for the camping experience with bottles of water, sun cream, apples and their sleeping bags. Jas explained that she had been to the Welsh capital a few times in the past for various gigs and concerts. "I don't know why it's Cardiff, but I always end up here for gigs," she said. "It's always just been the most convenient, even though, getting here is so inconvenient because I have to get like a three and half hour train. "But the atmosphere here is really good and I like the venues here." When asked if they ever thought the Gallagher brothers would reunite and their band would be touring once again, Laura said: "We weren't expecting it at all. "During Noel's show last summer, there were rumours going round. But we were saying, never. And they kept shutting the rumours down too. "He was like, 'it's not happening'. So obviously, we were like, we'll just take his word." Jas then added: "It wasn't even a month after, during his Halifax show, that they announced the reunion". The two got their tickets for £450 respectively, which they feel they were "lucky" to get. "I'm lucky to get it," Jas said. "That was because it's the VIP one, so we get front stand in a merch package and then there's an exhibition in like a lounge you can go to before." While the two would remain in their tents on Thursday, July 3, the two were planning on taking their belongings to their hotel ahead of the gig on Friday, July 4, where the two hope to get a front row view of the memorable performance. "We just can't wait," Laura said. The disparity is largely due to Noel receiving more royalties, according to Moneyweek. Famous ex-wife Noel Gallagher and his girlfriend at the time Meg Mathews at the premiere of 'Mission: Impossible' at the Empire Leicester Square, London in July 1996 (Image: Getty Images ) Noel first wife was interior designer, who also worked in music management, Meg Mathews. In the '90s, Meg was known for being an It girl and was said to be the third most written-about female in the UK, following Princess Diana and The Spice Girls, as reported in The Standard. She was a part of the famous 'Primrose Hill set', which according to The Independents were a host of "musicians, actors and general celebrities [that] lived next door to each other and seemed to be having a whale of a time with drink, drugs and bed-hopping". As part of the set, Meg was good friends with supermodel Kate Moss and Fran Cutler. She married Noel in 1997 and lived in a house called Supernova Heights, according to The Sun. But the pair split four years later, with Meg reportedly deciding to ditch the London life for a quieter one in Cornwall. Noel went on to marry Sara MacDonald in 2011, two years after Oasis split. Getting into trouble for sticking up for a pop icon The singer-songwriter landed himself in hot water back in the late '90s when he defended former East 17 singer Brian Harvey, who was sacked from the boy band after saying that Ecstasy was safe. As reported by the Independent, Gallagher claimed during an interview with BBC Radio that taking drugs was "like getting up and having a cup of tea in the morning". He further added that most people in Britain took drugs and claimed that it was hypocritical of Members of Parliament to lecture pop stars as drug use was widespread in the Houses of Parliament. Following the outcry, however, Noel issued a statement and said: "I've never condoned the use of drugs. I just slam as hypocrites those politicians who simply condemn drug abuse as a criminal activity and think they're doing something positive". He continued: "I urge all youngsters to educate themselves about the harmful effects of drug taking. I've said it before and I'll say it again, the best policy is don't start in the first place."
