Morgan Wallen Manages A Very Rare Feat For Country Musicians Outside Of America

Morgan Wallen earns his first U.K. No. 1 album with I'm the Problem, topping multiple tallies and ... More sending two songs to the Official Singles chart. KNOXVILLE, TENNESSEE - SEPTEMBER 22: Morgan Wallen performs onstage for night two of his One Night At A Time tour at Neyland Stadium on September 22, 2024 in Knoxville, Tennessee. (Photo byfor for Morgan Wallen's One Night At A Time 2024) Morgan Wallen may be one of the biggest musical stars in America right now, but since he's such a central figure in country music, his work doesn't usually reach a global audience like some rappers or pop stars might. With his latest full-length I'm the Problem, the Grammy nominee has finally scored a major win in the United Kingdom, where he's been steadily building an audience for years. His newest release debuts at No. 1, earning the superstar his first leader on several tallies. I'm the Problem opens at No. 1 on the Official Albums chart, which ranks the most consumed full-lengths and EPs in the U.K. That's the most important list of albums in the country — but it's not the only one where I'm the Problem runs the show. Wallen also starts his latest project atop the Official Albums Sales, Official Physical Albums, and Official Country Artists Albums rankings. Wallen dominates three of those four lists for the very first time. He has previously hit the top spot on the Official Country Artists Albums chart – several times, in fact. The singer-songwriter has only placed a trio of titles on the list, and all of them have spent at least one turn at No. 1. Dangerous led for half a dozen frames, while One Thing at a Time only managed a single stint in charge. Coincidentally, I'm the Problem also reaches the same starting point — No. 4 — on three other tallies. It kicks off its boots and makes a home in that spot on the Official Albums Streaming, Official Album Downloads, and Official Vinyl Albums charts simlutaneously. In almost every instance, Wallen collects his first top 10 win with I'm the Problem. He has previously entered the coveted top 10 on the Official Album Downloads chart and, of course, on the Official Country Artists Albums list, where he has accrued three leaders. Country music is not nearly as popular in the U.K. as it is in America, and it's rare for acts working in that style to top any ranking — let alone U.S.-based superstars. Wallen's reach now clearly extends beyond album rankings, as he scores two new hits on the Official Singles Chart. 'What I Want,' a collaboration with Tate McRae, launches highest, as it starts at No. 32. 'Just in Case,' another previous single from the set, finally debuts at No. 75, weeks after it was first released. Wallen has now accrued 10 placements on the most competitive songs ranking in that nation with these two wins.

Willie Nelson Scores A New No. 1 Album After First Missing The Top Spot

Just last week, Willie Nelson nearly secured a new No. 1 album in the United Kingdom. The legendary singer-songwriter missed out on the throne by just one space, as Oh, What a Beautiful World had to settle for the runner-up slot. Typically, where an album debuts on the charts ends up being its all-time peak. Interest in a musician's newest offering is usually greatest right after its release — during the initial promotional period and when it's brand new — when diehard supporters rush to both stream and buy the collection. That's not always the case, however, and Nelson benefits from a fairly unusual climb this time around, one that shows yet again just how hugely popular he remains into his nineties. Oh, What a Beautiful World climbs one space on the Official Country Artists Albums chart this week. The set lifts from No. 2, where it began, to No. 1 on the ranking of the biggest full-lengths in the U.K. from artists typically known for creating country music. Last frame, Send a Prayer, My Way by Julien Baker and Torres led the charge on the Official Country Artists Albums chart. That set spent its first two turns at No. 1. Now, it trades places with Oh, What a Beautiful World. With this latest champion, Nelson earns his eighth No. 1 on the Official Country Artists Albums list. He has previously reached the summit with all of the following releases: Spirit, Heroes, To All the Girls, Ride Me Back Home, First Rose of Spring, That's Life, and Last Leaf on the Tree. It's been less than a year since Nelson collected his most recent chart-topper. Last Leaf on the Tree debuted in November 2024 and quickly reached the summit. While Oh, What a Beautiful World climbs on the Official Country Artists Albums chart, it drops on the Official Americana ranking. After debuting at No. 11 last time around, it now dips to No. 34. Two of Nelson's other collections — Legend: The Best Of and Greatest Hits — sit side-by-side at Nos. 7 and 8, respectively, on the Official Country Compilations list in the U.K.

Taylor Swift's First Re-Recorded Album Hits A Huge Landmark

Fearless (Taylor's Version) celebrates four years on the Official Country Artists Albums chart in ... More the U.K., becoming Swift's first set to hit 104 weeks on the tally. THE TONIGHT SHOW STARRING JIMMY FALLON — Episode 1549 — Pictured: Singer-songwriter Taylor Swift during an interview on Thursday, November 11, 2021 — (Photo by: Mike Coppola/NBC/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images) Taylor Swift's dominance on the charts — both in the U.S. and across the pond — feels practically routine at this point. This week in the United Kingdom, the singer-songwriter continues to demonstrate her incredible staying power as several of her albums return to various rankings and, in some cases, even rise. This time around, one of her re-recordings hits a special milestone no other title in her discography has achieved on a specific tally. When Swift first announced she would re-record and re-release her earliest albums years ago, she chose to start with Fearless, the project that launched her into the mainstream and won the star her first Grammy for Album of the Year. Originally released in 2008, the collection is now considered one of the most successful country-pop crossovers of all time, and it marked a major turning point in her career. More than a decade later, Fearless (Taylor's Version) arrived to massive success. By then, Swift had transformed into a global icon who'd conquered pop, indie, and alternative sounds, so it wasn't surprising that her return to country found an enthusiastic audience. This week, that project rises again on the Official Country Artists Albums chart, moving from No. 7 to No. 6. That slight improvement in position is a special movement for the re-recorded Fearless (Taylor's Version). The title has now spent 208 weeks on the Official Country Artists Albums chart — exactly four full years. Over that lengthy span, the set has rarely faltered. In fact, it's only fallen out of the top 10 once during its entire run. Fearless (Taylor's Version) is now the first of Swift's releases to spend four years on the Official Country Artists Albums chart. It's a milestone she had never reached before with any other title, original or re-recorded. The new version of Fearless surpassed the original months ago, as that initial offering has thus far managed 185 total appearances on the list. Her debut effort, Taylor Swift, is currently up to 163 turns on the same tally. While that record hasn't been re-released yet, Swift has promised fans that it will eventually be reimagined and shared under her updated vision. Beyond its impressive longevity, Fearless (Taylor's Version) has also dominated the Official Country Artists Albums chart like few other titles have in the tally's history. When it arrived in April 2021, it debuted at No. 1, and that turned out to be only the beginning. Since then, the full-length has earned 53 stays in the top spot, meaning it has ruled for more than a cumulative year out of the four it has spent on the roster.
