Joe Jonas Scores His First Hit Album On His Own

Joe Jonas lands his first solo placements on multiple U.K. album charts with Music for People Who ... More Believe in Love, though the set misses the main albums ranking. NEW YORK, NEW YORK - APRIL 29: Joe Jonas visits SiriusXM at SiriusXM Studios on April 29, 2025 in New York City. (Photo by) Joe Jonas has been a musical superstar for nearly two decades now, but his commercial success has largely been tied to his siblings. As one-third of the Jonas Brothers, he's scored global smashes and several bestselling albums. His solo career, however, hasn't fared quite as well, especially in the United Kingdom. The singer lands his first hits on a number of charts in that country this week with his latest release on his own, Music for People Who Believe in Love. The title earns Jonas his first placement under his own name on several tallies, though, interestingly, it still trails behind his debut solo offering in one important manner. Music for People Who Believe in Love debuts on three charts across the Atlantic. It opens at No. 15 on both the Official Albums Sales and Official Physical Albums charts. The collection also enters at No. 36 on the Official Album Downloads list. These placements mark a first for Jonas as a soloist on all three rankings. The Jonas Brothers, meanwhile, have collected between two and five appearances on each and every one of them throughout the years. Despite its lofty placement on a handful of tallies, Music for People Who Believe in Love doesn't reach the Official Albums chart, the all-encompassing ranking of the 100 most consumed full-lengths and EPs in the nation. Jonas's debut solo album, Fastlife, did land on that tally. Released in late 2011, Fastlife spent one frame at No. 99 before disappearing for good. It never managed to appear on any of the other charts where Jonas currently appears. So far, Music for People Who Believe in Love has produced just one charting hit: "Heart by Heart." The catchy lead single debuts on a pair of tallies this frame in the U.K. It opens at No. 72 on the Official Singles Sales list and No. 69 on the Official Singles Downloads tally. Jonas is brand new to the Official Singles Sales chart, as "Heart by Heart" earns him his first solo win on the list of the bestselling tunes in the U.K. He's already placed on the Official Singles Downloads roster multiple times. In fact, "Heart by Heart" marks his fifth solo entry on that tally and his first since 2011. To date, Jonas has managed only one top 40 solo success on that U.K. ranking — a duet with Demi Lovato on "This Is Me," which peaked at No. 31 in 2008.

Olivia Rodrigo's Former No. 1 Is A Bestseller Again

Olivia Rodrigo has been sending mixed signals to her massive fan base lately when it comes to new music. In March, she shared a photo montage featuring musical instruments like keyboards and an electric guitar, hinting that she was hard at work on her next chapter. But not long afterward, in April, she posted a carousel of images from her vacation in Marrakesh, Morocco, captioning it simply: 'everywhere. but that damn studio.' That message could mean she's taking a break from creating— or that she's spent so much time in the studio recently, she's now happy to escape it. As fans continue to wait for what might be coming next from the Grammy winner, many in the United Kingdom are revisiting one of her biggest hits. They're not just streaming it, either, but buying the cut once more. Rodrigo scores a commercial win – again – with 'Vampire,' a tune that listeners in that country just can't seem to get enough of. This week, 'Vampire' reappears on two purchase-focused rankings in the U.K. It returns at No. 55 on the Official Singles Sales chart, which highlights the bestselling tunes across all genres and formats, whether digital storefronts or physical offerings. The same cut also shows up on the Official Singles Downloads tally, where it lands at No. 79. 'Vampire' has previously topped the Official Singles Sales chart, but narrowly missed ruling the downloads-only tally. Instead, it peaked in third place. The cut has now logged 46 frames on the Official Singles Downloads roster and 50 stays — just shy of a full year, a milestone it will likely reach at some point in 2025 — on the Official Singles Sales list. 'Vampire' stands as Rodrigo's longest-charting win on both of these U.K. tallies, and it continues to further its lead over her previous singles every time it returns. Her next-longest-running favorites on the lists are 'Good 4 U' and 'Driver's License,' both of which have racked up more than 30 weeks on the two rankings.

Lana Del Rey Scores Back-To-Back Hit Singles

Lana Del Rey is heavily promoting her upcoming new album, though some details remain under wraps. For example, fans still don't know when the project will arrive. The release has also gone through several name changes in the months since the singer-songwriter first began discussing it, and at the moment, no one is quite sure what the final title will be. But despite a lack of concrete information, Del Rey's fans are already enjoying a deluge of new music connected to this era. She has released two singles from the effort and earned back-to-back wins in the United Kingdom, with one tune arriving this frame and pushing its predecessor down on multiple rankings. 'Bluebird' is the latest single taken from Del Rey's upcoming, as-yet-untitled album. This frame, the song opens on a trio of charts in the U.K., thanks largely to her devoted following showing up to purchase it. 'Bluebird' debuts highest on the Official Singles Downloads chart, starting at No. 49. It doesn't open much lower on the Official Singles Sales tally, where it enters at No. 53. Del Rey's latest track also manages to find its way onto the Official Singles chart, coming in at No. 80. That tally accounts for both sales and streaming activity. However, as 'Bluebird' does not appear on the list of the most-streamed tunes in the country, it seems that purchases on platforms like iTunes and Amazon are largely responsible for its debut position. Last week, Del Rey scored another new hit. 'Henry, Come On' opened in an even loftier position than 'Bluebird' has this frame. Now in its second turn on multiple tallies, the cut is still present on all three of the charts where 'Bluebird' opens, though it has slipped behind its successor. Just days ago, 'Henry, Come On' launched at No. 30 on the Official Singles chart. Now, it has dropped more than 50 spaces to No. 84, which stands as its highest placement in the U.K. at the moment. It also descends noticeably to No. 89 on the downloads-only tally and barely holds on to a spot on the Official Singles Sales roster, where it plummets more than 30 slots to No. 96. A totally unrelated cut from Del Rey is also proving to be a bestseller in the U.K., helping her score multiple wins from different eras of her huge career. 'Candy Necklace,' which is featured on her album Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, returns to a pair of lists this frame. The cut, a collaboration with Jon Batiste — though he's not credited on the U.K. rankings — frequently drops off and reappears on both the Official Vinyl Singles and Official Physical Singles charts. This time around, it becomes a top 40 win on both tallies, landing at Nos. 34 and 38, respectively, after not finding space just a few days ago.

Pink Floyd Star David Gilmour Earns His First Solo Top 10 Smash

David Gilmour's Between Two Points hits No. 10 on the Official Singles Sales chart, giving him his ... More first solo U.K. top 10 hit on this tally. LONDON, ENGLAND - SEPTEMBER 30: David Gilmour joins Richard Thompson on stage at his 70th Birthday Celebration Show the Royal Albert Hall on September 30, 2019 in London, England. (Photo by Gus Stewart/Redferns) David Gilmour earned his place in rock history many years ago. As an integral member of Pink Floyd, he accomplished more than most musicians will ever come close to, and even though he's no longer with the group, he's still hard at work. This week, it's Gilmour himself — not the band that made him a star — who claims the spotlight. Thanks to a special Record Store Day release, the veteran rocker nabs a brand new solo win that pushes him into territory he's never seen before on his own. Gilmour participated in Record Store Day 2025 by issuing a 12-inch vinyl edition of his song "Between Two Points," and that limited drop becomes a quick success. The tune reemerges on the Official Singles Sales chart, landing at No. 10. It's the first time the cut has ever reached the top 10 on the U.K.'s list of bestselling individual tracks.. "Between Two Points" has actually appeared on the Official Singles Sales chart before, though not at nearly the same level. The track first landed back in September 2024, debuting at a modest No. 78. After disappearing for several weeks, it made a surprise return in November, jumping to a new high of No. 48 before fading again. With "Between Two Points," Gilmour earns his first solo top 10 placement on the Official Singles Sales chart. It's a career milestone that comes more than five decades into his tenure as a musical powerhouse. The cut is now his third song as a solo artist to appear on the U.K.'s purchase-only singles tally. His first solo entry came in mid-2020, when "Yes, I Have Ghosts" peaked at No. 47. A few years later, "The Piper's Call" barely made an appearance, reaching just No. 98 in May 2024. The track also gives Romany Gilmour — David's daughter — her first top 10 credit on the tally in the U.K., as she's officially featured on the song. While this is Gilmour's first solo top 10 hit on the Official Singles Sales chart, he's already reached the summit as part of Pink Floyd. In 2022, the band released "Hey, Hey, Rise Up," a standalone single designed to support Ukraine during its war with Russia. The powerful track, which featured Ukrainian musician Andriy Khlyvnyuk, soared to No. 1 on the same list. "Hey, Hey, Rise Up" spent nine weeks on the chart, two of which were at the top. That release marked the first time Pink Floyd had ever ruled the ranking, and easily it's biggest success on that one tally.

Post Malone Earns His First No. 1 With Some Help From A Famous Friend

Post Malone and Taylor Swift's "Fortnight" reaches to No. 1 on three U.K. sales charts, including a ... More debut appearance atop the Official Vinyl Singles list. ELMONT, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 11: (L-R) Taylor Swift and Post Malone attend the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards at UBS Arena on September 11, 2024 in Elmont, New York. (Photo byfor MTV) Post Malone is having a massive week on the U.K. charts, and he has Taylor Swift –and a new vinyl pressing – to thank for some of his success. The multi-genre superstar is back at No. 1 on several rankings with the blockbuster duet 'Fortnight,' and the song even earns him a brand new chart-topper on a list that had previously eluded him completely. 'Fortnight' finds its way back to the summit on two tallies in the U.K. The hit collaboration returns to No. 1 on both the Official Singles Sales and Official Physical Singles charts, both of which track pure purchases in different formats. The same cut also launches atop the Official Vinyl Singles chart, becoming the bestselling individual song on wax in the U.K. this week. That's a new placement for the track — and a milestone for Malone. Despite his global fame and chart dominance across multiple other rankings, Malone had never appeared on the Official Vinyl Singles chart before this week. That changes as 'Fortnight' doesn't just break onto the ranking, it debuts at No. 1. It's not often that musicians open in first place with their first wins on any roster, let alone a sales-focused list. 'Fortnight' has now appeared on the Official Physical Singles chart in only two weeks — and both times it's run the show. The single debuted at No. 1 back in May 2024 before vanishing entirely from the tally. Nearly a year later, it's back at No. 1 once again. That isn't quite the case when it comes to the Official Singles Sales chart. On that roster, 'Fortnight' started at No. 8, then quickly climbed to No. 1 the following frame. Over the past year, it has now spent 18 weeks on that ranking in total, with just two of them in the top spot. 'Fortnight' is back following another hugely successful edition of Record Store Day. The song was reissued as a white 7-inch vinyl, featuring the original duet on one side and a remix on the other. The limited-edition pressing instantly became a collectible for fans of both Swift and Malone – which means, to a lot of people. The smash also returns to the main U.K. singles ranking. This week, the cut reappears at No. 29 on the Official Singles chart, the country's primary list of the most popular tracks. While not a new peak – it's already topped the tally – it's an impressive resurgence for a tune that many assumed had run its course.
