Oliver Antman to Rangers takes fresh twist as winger clear on transfer non negotiable
The Go Ahead Eagles wide man is on the Ibrox shopping list this summer Go Ahead Eagles winger Oliver Antman has reported for training on Monday morning despite Rangers ramping up their interest. A wide man is high-up on Russell Martin's shopping list having already expressed an interest in Crystal Palace 's Jesurun Rak-Sakyi – but the Eredivise side are also expecting an offer from the Scottish Premiership side for the 23-year-old Antman. A fee of around £5million has been reported for the Finland international after he netted seven goals and an impressive 17 assists to help fire his club to Dutch Cup glory last term. But Voetbal International claim that progress has faltered in a deal and Antman has now reported "to the training ground in Deventer on Monday morning." Sheffield United had been strongly linked with Antman along with Club Brugge with Eagles' director Jan Willem van Dop insisted Antman wouldn't leave on the cheap. The forward doesn't appear to be in any rush to leave - insisting it is more important for him to enjoy his football rather than land a big money move. He told Finnish outlet YLE last month: 'The big thing is also that I enjoy myself on and off the pitch. "I like living in Deventer and I like playing for Go Ahead Eagles. It's really good to be there. 'It wouldn't be a bad thing if I stayed in Holland. I enjoy playing there. But we'll see what the summer brings.' Rangers 'to make' £5m offer for Jesurun Rak Sakyi alternative as winger feelings made clear despite injury
The Crystal Palace wide man limped off during a pre-season clash with Crawley Town on Friday Dutch side Go Ahead Eagles have reportedly been "primed" to expect an offer from Rangers for winger Oliver Antman. The Light Blues are ramping up their search for a new wide man having already expressed an interest in Crystal Palace 's Jesurun Rak-Sakyi – with Russell Martin admitting to being a fan having previously tried to sign him while he was still Southampton manager. It was reported earlier this week the Ibrox side made the first move to sign the winger with a loan bid tabled that included a stunning £10million buy option for the 22-year-old. But Rangers now face a sweat over an injury to Rak-Sakyi after he went down on Friday night and he was substituted in the 89th minute after coming on midway through the second half. The winger spent two minutes receiving treatment before he walked off the pitch. But Martin appears to have come up with an alternative to Rak-Sakyi in Finnish international Antman. The Herald report that Rangers have taken a "firm interest" in the 23-year-old after his debut Eredivise campaign having signed for the Eagles from Nordsjaelland last summer. It is claimed the club want a £5million payday for their key man and "have been told to prepare for an offer from Ibrox by intermediaries." Unfortunately for Poland, their superstar player, Robert Lewandowski, will not be playing in these qualifying matches. Initially, this was due to not being fit to play, but it was later revealed that he does not want to play for Polish coach Michal Probierz. He will be a massive loss for the club, but they still have confidence they can rally without him, and might be better off, chemistry-wise. The Finland squad will rely on some combination of Oliver Antman and Joel Pohjanpalo on the offensive side of things. They have both scored a goal in three international matches and will look to take advantage of a Lewandowski-less Poland team. They are second in Group G, right behind their competitor in this matchup. This is a great World Cup qualifier matchup; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.
