Immigration nabs 32 foreigners in raid on 'Mini Pakistan' near Ayer Hitam
AYER HITAM: Thirty-two foreigners were detained in a raid conducted by the Johor Immigration Department at a place dubbed 'Mini Pakistan' in Ayer Hitam town near here. Johor Immigration director Datuk Mohd Rusdi Mohd Darus said the raid was carried out following complaints from the public and intelligence gathering. He said the operation codenamed Ops Belanja, Ops Selera, Ops Sapu and Ops Kutip was held on Wednesday (Aug 6) starting from 2.25pm. 'We also detained three local men who are the business owners and supervisors of the detained foreigners," Mohd Rusdi said in a statement. He said the foreigners were 20 Pakistani males, nine Bangladeshi men, an Indonesia man and two Indonesian women adding all detainees including three local men aged between 20 and 54. Mohd Rusdi said the illegal foreign workers have committed offences under the Regulation 39(b) of the Immigration Regulations 1963, Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Act 155) and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Act 155). 'We will continue to work closely with other enforcement agencies to eradicate the influx of illegal immigrants in the state," he said. Mohd Rusdi said Johor Immigration will not compromise and will take stern actions against employers and business owners for employing illegal foreign workers.

Johor immigration detains 27 foreign workers in ops
JOHOR BAHRU: The Malaysian Immigration Department detained 27 foreign workers without valid permits during Ops Selera at a food premises in Bandar Baru Permas Jaya. Johor Immigration director Datuk Mohd Rusdi Mohd Darus said the operation involved 25 officers following intelligence and public reports. Those arrested included eight Indonesian men, eight Indonesian women, five Myanmar men, and six Myanmar women aged 18 to 50. All detainees are suspected of violating Section 6(1)(c) and Section 15(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63. A local man, the premises owner, was also detained under Section 56(1)(d) for harbouring foreigners. Mohd Rusdi confirmed the detainees were taken to Setia Tropika Immigration Depot for investigation. He warned the public and employers against hiring or sheltering illegal immigrants. Employers were advised to verify foreign worker management claims with the nearest immigration office. – Bernama

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Immigration Department detained 35 undocumented migrants during a series of enforcement operations in Inanam and Luyang between Thursday and Friday. The operations, led by 38 enforcement officers from the Kota Kinabalu division, took place from 11am until 12.30am and targeted residential areas, business premises, and known gathering spots for foreign nationals. Acting on public tip-offs and prior surveillance, officers launched five operations - Ops Mahir, Ops Kutip, Ops Selera, Ops Belanja, and Ops Sapu - across multiple locations. Those detained include 17 Chinese nationals (16 men and one woman), six Pakistani men, and 12 Filipinos (10 men and two women), suspected of various immigration offences. Offences cited include staying without valid documents, overstaying visas, and breaching permit conditions under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and related regulations. All detainees have been transferred to the Kota Kinabalu Immigration Depot for documentation and further investigation. 26 foreign nationals detained in Kuching immigration raids

In a statement, the Sarawak Immigration Department said the operations, dubbed Ops Belanja, Ops Selera, and Ops Sapu, were part of ongoing efforts to curb the presence of undocumented migrants in the country. A total of 29 enforcement officers inspected 92 individuals of various nationalities during raids on business premises, including restaurants and workers' quarters at construction sites. The raids were carried out based on prior intelligence. 'Following inspections, a total of 26 individuals comprising 20 men and six women were detained for various offences under the Immigration Act 1959/63 and the Immigration Regulations,' the department said. The offences included overstaying, failure to hold valid passes or permits, and misuse of social visit passes. The department also issued a stern reminder to employers and premises owners not to hire or shelter undocumented foreign workers. 'The department will not hesitate to take legal action against any individual or entity found to be violating existing immigration laws,' it said. 23 Held In Immigration Raid On Puchong Entertainment Outlet
PUTRAJAYA, April 26 (Bernama) -- The Immigration Department (JIM) of Selangor detained 23 undocumented migrants under Ops Selera and Ops Gegar at an entertainment outlet in Puchong yesterday. Selangor Immigration director Khairrul Aminus Kamaruddin said those detained comprised a woman each from Thailand, Vietnam and Morocco, who worked as a waitress, as well as 16 male workers from Myanmar and four from Bangladesh. 'All those detained are aged between 22 and 44 and have worked here for over six months. Some tried to avoid detection either by hiding in cupboards or pretending to be customers during the raid, but to no avail,' he said in a statement today.
