This new karaoke joint in Singapore has vibrant themed rooms and affordable $9.90/pax 2-hour sessions

Gone are the days where KTV joints were dark, nondescript, and filled with the telltale scent of cigarettes. Ever since opened its first outlet in Singapore, things have taken a fun turn with rooms boasting futuristic neon-lit decor and adorable character designs. The family-friendly chain now has multiple branches under its belt – including those at hotspots like Orchard and the revamped CQ @ Clarke Quay – and a new one has recently been added to the list. latest opening is located at Leisure Park Kallang. Unlike most of its other outlets, it's not quite central, but it's a stone's throw from the Singapore Indoor Stadium and National Stadium – making it a great spot to pre-game with your favourite songs just before a concert. Now, where was this when we needed it during Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour last year? The entrance and corridors of this particular outlet is similar to the rest – sleek, steely, and almost spaceship-like. But its rooms bring a colourful surprise with themes featuring your favourite childhood characters including Donald Duck, Super Mario, Doraemon, Barbie, and the gang from Toy Story. Rian O'Neill returns as Armagh survive late Derry blitz in nervy All-Ireland opener

RIAN O'NEILL'S confirmed return before throw-in drew as many cheers from Armagh fans as the hooter at the end did as their All-Ireland defence kicked off with a nervous win. But Orchard captain for the night Rory Grugan insisted that the victory was all that mattered — as his side stumbled over the line to take two points in the group of death from a game they should have cruised home in. 2 Rian O'Neill returned for All-Ireland champions Armagh on Saturday at the BOX-IT Athletic Grounds 2 Armagh's defence kicked off with a nervous win against a tough Derry outfit Second-half goals from Barry McCambridge and Conor Turbitt saw Kieran McGeeney's men take a commanding 13-point lead with just over ten minutes left. But Derry rallied, scoring two late goals from Conor Glass and Tommy Rogers to make the hosts sweat at the Athletic Grounds. Armagh hung on to banish the memories of another drama-filled Ulster final defeat to Donegal. Grugan said: 'The first few days are tough, getting the corner turned in terms of mentally and that, but we managed to do that and we put in a good ten days of training. read more on gaa 'We treated this like a final, basically, because if you lose this first game, you're scrambling away to Dublin, neutral to Galway, you don't know where it'll take you and suddenly you're fighting for your life. 'We want to push on now, see where this week takes us and I look forward to Croke Park.' Grugan admitted he was glad to hear the final whistle. He added: 'I went off just after we'd conceded the first goal and it went back to a ten-point deficit, and you're hoping that's still enough of a buffer. Most read in GAA Football 'But in the modern game we've seen those disappear really quickly. There was a significant wind there, Derry took advantage of it. Antrim GAA captain Dermot McAleese insists Ulster SFC clash against Armagh will be at Corrigan Park 'You could tell they were really going for goal and they never stopped fighting. They came at us hard, kicked a couple of two-pointers and it was more nervy than it needed to be there. 'It would have been a travesty if we threw it away.' Armagh came flying out of the blocks in the second half having only led by three points at the break despite dominating the opening period. The return of talisman O'Neill for his first game of the year came in the No 6 jersey after he had initially not been named in the matchday squad. That all changed on the day and he was among the scorers as his side led 0-9 to 0-2 after 19 minutes. Grugan, Andrew Murnin, Oisín Conaty with a two-pointer, Ross McQuillan and Turbitt all contributed. But Derry hit back with Conor Glass, Paul Cassidy, Ruairí Forbes and Shane McGuigan on target to cut Armagh's half-time lead to 0-12 to 0-9. Murnin, Jarly Óg Burns, Jason Duffy and McQuillan all helped extend the Orchard lead again before McCambridge steered Murnin's optimistic delivery into the net and then Turbitt displayed class to slip his shot past keeper Ben McKinless. However, Derry chipped away with a big two-pointer from McGuigan and then with ten minutes to play, Glass' low effort gave Armagh keeper Ethan Rafferty no chance. And Paddy Tally's men really started to believe when substitute Rogers rattled in another goal. Indeed, they came close to turning it around with Rafferty required to make saves from Rogers and his namesake Brendan. But Joe McElroy stemmed the tide with a vital insurance point as Armagh hung on and they now head to Croke Park to face Dublin next weekend with both sides having won their group openers. Derry will welcome Galway to Celtic Park as both teams look to get off the mark. Ahead of facing the Dubs, Grugan warned: 'The amount of goal chances Derry created and scored would be concerning.' ‘His ability isn't in doubt' – Armagh GAA great hails Rian O'Neill return as ‘unbelievable boost' to All-Ireland defence

AARON KERNAN believes Rian O'Neill can give Armagh an 'unbelievable boost' as they prepare to put their All-Ireland SFC title on the line. Orchard boss Kieran McGeeney said in March that 2 Rian O'Neill has returned to the Armagh panel Credit: Ray McManus/Sportsfile 2 Aaron Kernan backed him to be the difference in their All-Ireland defence Credit: Seb Daly/Sportsfile But now a first appearance since last July's Sam Maguire showpiece looks to be imminent for the All-Star forward, who rejoined the Armagh panel ahead of the The availability of such a key player should aid the Orchard's All-Ireland defence, which begins at home to Derry this weekend. Crossmaglen Rangers club-mate Kernan said: 'The best place for him is being involved in the playing group and with his friends. 'His brother is involved as well and he seems like he's in a good place himself. Read More on GAA 'I think it's just allowing him to find his feet, have a bit of patience and give it a bit of time. I don't see there being any issues for the remainder of the season with him. 'Once he's happy and in a good place, Kieran and the boys will be delighted to have him around.' O'Neill is tailor-made to avail of some of the game's new rules. His long-range kicking ability could be a potent weapon in helping Armagh to collect the bonus points on offer beyond the 40-metre arc. Most read in GAA Football Speaking in his role as a BoyleSports ambassador, former Armagh ace Kernan said: 'His potential and his ability aren't in doubt. 'The fact he's back in that squad and if he's showing a semblance of what we all know he's capable of, it's an unbelievable boost. Limerick GAA fans troll RTE pundit Donal Og Cusack after win over Cork 'But I don't think management, Rian or anyone would be putting any pressure on what's going to happen in the weeks to come. 'I think he'll find his feet, form and build up his game-time organically. 'And with the new rules, it'll help him to settle in to whatever game-time he does start to get. 'With the two-point arc, there is more space for his foot-passing ability where he likes to get his head up. 'Or if he ends up playing in that front three, he has that ball-winning ability where he wouldn't have the same workload he would have playing off No 11 or eight.' HANGOVER CURE Having rebounded from a penalty-shootout defeat in last year's provincial decider to be crowned All-Ireland champions, Kernan is confident that Armagh will not be afflicted by any hangover from their latest dose of Anglo-Celt Cup agony. But he admits He said: 'You're sitting watching the game, and as exciting as it was, I was starting to wonder if this is actually a good thing from an Armagh point of view. 'To be fair, Armagh have shown in the past few years that they can park the provincial final disappointment. 'Granted, it's a different draw this time around. 'They've had Westmeath at home in the first game in the two years previous to this All-Ireland series. 'Obviously they have Derry but it's about what Derry is going to turn up. 'Rumour has it that they've been going quite well in recent weeks since the Donegal game in terms of what's happening in challenge games and in terms of personnel getting back fully fit. 'That will certainly make it more difficult for Armagh.' l AARON KERNAN is an ambassador for BoyleSports, who are paying out early if your team goes seven points ahead – even if they draw or lose.

'Like a second home:' Orchard Software remains a Central Indiana Top Workplace

Makenzie Bell says she feels like the 'poster child' for internal career growth opportunities at Orchard Software. Bell, who started at Orchard seven years ago as a support receptionist, has been promoted into roles as a project specialist, project coordinator, support project lead, and now in her current position as a support projects and migrations manager. '(It) will be remembered as one of my personal highlights in my career,' Bell said of her latest promotion, adding that the company also supported her returning to college to complete her bachelor's degree. 'I have been in this role for a little over a year now and the challenges, rewards, and experiences I have had are invaluable. None of this would not have been possible if support leadership had not taken their chances on me seven years ago.' Employees highlight the leadership's commitment to fostering employee growth, coupled with a strong emphasis on learning and continuous development, are key factors driving the Carmel-based software firm's success. This forward-thinking approach has solidified the company's position as a leader in the health care laboratory information system industry, where it serves over 2,000 labs across the United States. In addition to its comprehensive employee health benefits and retirement savings packages, Orchard also offers its employees access to fertility benefits, adoption assistance, paid parental leave, volunteer time off and pet insurance. The company notes its support of the Special Olympics of Indiana and that it pledges to be a stigma-free workplace. Equally as important, employees say, the company prioritizes employee mental wellness and a healthy work-life balance. 'As a manager, maintaining a good work-life balance can sometimes be a challenge,' Bell noted. 'However, Orchard acknowledges the extra time and effort that these roles may require. I've always been encouraged to take flex time when my workload goes beyond the normal office hours, which helps maintain a healthier balance. We also have a fantastic Employee Assistance Program (EAP) that offers a wide variety of resources to those in need.' The company encourages open lines of communication at each level, said Colin Holzer, a technical support specialist. 'Leadership makes an active effort to ensure they are available to assist us when we are struggling with any issues at work,' Holzer said. '(They are) active in making sure we grow and develop for success. Employee appreciation is taken very seriously.' Orchard leaders focus on celebrating even the smallest wins, and acknowledging employee success and growth. Employees say they feel heard by leadership and that everyone is able to contribute to the company's strategic direction. 'Orchard provides opportunities to express new ideas and act on them,' Bell said. 'There is always someone willing to listen to your ideas and help bring them to fruition. 'It honestly felt like I was meant to be here and I still feel this way, every day. Orchard has always felt like a second home.' Bottom Line

Jim McGuinness admits dismay at heated brawl after inspiring Donegal to ‘special' Ulster victory over Armagh

Jim McGuinness says that post-game brawls 'shouldn't happen' as his squad's sensational Ulster Final win over Armagh was marred by a bust-up between sections of the teams after the hooter sounded. Donegal emerged victorious by a single point, but some of the Orchard players took exception to the way their opponents chose to celebrate in their faces and a melee quickly broke out.
