DGP distributes prizes to winners of shooting competitions

The Tamil Nadu Police organised State Police Shooting Competitions for Men and Women – 2025 at Tamil Nadu Commando Firing Range, Othivakkam, Chengalpattu District from July 24 to 26. In these competitions, 13 types of events were conducted in three categories. Nine teams of men comprising 204 police personnel and eight teams of women comprising 101 police personnel from various cities/ zones/ special units of police took part. In the competitions for Men category, the South Zone Team won Overall Championship Trophy while Headquarters team won Overall Runners- up Trophy Similarly, in the competitions for Women category, West Zone Team won the Overall Championship while North Zone team won the Runners up Trophy. On Saturday, the Director General of Police Shankar Jiwal presided over the prize distribution ceremony and felicitated the winners and presented trophies, medals and certificates. The competitions were organised by Additional Director General of Police, Operations, In this event, Inspector General of Police, B. Vijayakumari, acted as Jury of Appeal.

Vijayawada: Students from Andhra Pradesh showcased exceptional talent at the Inter State Word Power Championship organised by Vibha – Leap For Word in Mumbai and clinched the Overall Championship Trophy. Students from 11 states participated in the championship. State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha B Srinivasa Rao felicitated the winners at the Samagra Shiksha State Office on Tuesday. The event was attended by additional state project director Dr MR Prasanna Kumar, SAMO additional director K Nageswara Rao, Vibha South India Manager T Veeranarayana and others. The winners from NTR District are B Sindhu Priya (Class 2) who secured the second position and B Revanth (Class 4) who got the first position from Kanimerla Mandal Parishad Primary School. Their guide teacher was Vijayalakshmi. Winner from Krishna district is G Jethin Manikantha (Class 3) of Vakkapattulavaripalem Mandal Parishad Primary School who secured the first position. His guide teacher was Vijaya Nirmala. Winners from SPSR Nellore district is P Charan Srinivas (Class 5) of MPPS Vandalur who secured the third position. His guide teacher was Sirisha. The success of these students reflects the strong foundation of language education under Samagra Shiksha and the dedication of teachers across AP.

AP students shine in inter-State word power championship

Students of Andhra Pradesh showcased exceptional talent and clinched the Overall Championship Trophy in an Inter-State Word Power Championship held in Mumbai. The event was organised by Vibha-Leap for Word (LFW) and a total of 11 States participated in the competition. The winners include B. Sindhu Priya of Class-2 who secured the second prize and B. Revanth from Class-4 who bagged the first prize from the Kanimerla Mandal Parishad Primary School from NTR district, under their guide teacher Vijayalakshmi. G. Jethin Manikantha of Class-3, who bagged the first prize, from the Vakkapattalavaripalem Mandal Parishad Primary School in Krishna district, under his guide teacher Vijaya Nirmala and P. Charan Srinivas of Class-5, who secured the third prize under his guide teacher Sireesha, from the Vandalur Mandal Praja Parishad School in SPSR Nellore district. State Project Director of Samagra Shiksha B. Srinivasa Rao said to enhance reading and spelling skills among students of Classes 2 to 5, Experiential Learning Programme (ELP) was being implemented in the State-run schools in collaboration with the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Vibha Foundation and LFW. The ELP is currently being implemented across seven districts of NTR, Krishna, Alluri Sitarama Raju, Guntur, Nellore, Tirupati and Annamayya. Director of School Education V. Vijay Rama Raju and others congratulated the winners on their achievement.
