Six persons detained in Karur
The Anti-Terrorism Squad on Wednesday busted a fake Permanent Account Number (PAN) and Aadhaar card racket and detained six persons in Karur.
Acting on inputs, a special team, assisted by the Karur police, raided a building and found the production of fake PANs and forged Aadhaar cards. The special team subsequently detained six persons from Karur. The police are conducting inquiries with Jayakumar, who acted as an agent, agent Karthick, who posed as Aadhaar enrolment officer, and Naveen Sekar, Sampath, Srinivasan and Kalaivani. All were found creating fake PAN cards to apply for Aadhaar cards.
The police seized around 130 PAN cards, 69 enrolment forms, a laptop and six mobile phones and other devices that were used to make PAN cards were seized from them.
