Miri district police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said the operation, carried out by Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division of Miri District Police Headquarters, took place at Jalan Bandaraya Miri, Jalan Marina Utama, Jalan Miri Bypass, Jalan Tanjong Lobang, Jalan Tudan, Jalan Permyjaya, Jalan Taman Tunku, and Jalan Canada Hill, from 10pm on July 26 until 3am on July 27. 'During the operation, 13 vehicles were inspected, and all of the motorcycles were seized under Section 60 of the Road Transport Act 1987 after being found modified from their original structure and for further inspection,' he said in a statement. He added that 13 individuals were also inspected and 57 PDRM (K) 257 summonses were issued for various traffic offences. Mohd Farhan said that similar operations will be carried out from time to time to ensure road users comply with traffic laws and regulations. MIRI (July 19): A total of six motorcycles were seized and 24 summonses issued during an anti-illegal racing operation dubbed Ops Samseng Jalanan, conducted here last night. The operation, aimed at curbing illegal street racing and ensuring compliance with traffic laws, was carried out between 10pm and 3am at multiple locations across Miri. These include Jalan Bandaraya Miri, Marina Utama, Jalan Miri-Bypass, Jalan Tanjung Lobang, Jalan Tudan, Jalan Permyjaya, and Jalan Canada Hill. Miri police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said 10 vehicles were inspected during the operation, of which six motorcycles were seized under Section 60 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for being illegally modified and sent for further inspection. 'A total of 10 individuals were checked, and 24 PDRM (K) 257 summonses were issued for various traffic offences,' he said in a statement. He said the operation by the Miri Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division sought to stop illegal racing and ensure road users comply with traffic laws and regulations. 'During this operation, a total of 25 vehicles were inspected, of which 18 motorcycles were seized under Section 60 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for being modified from their original structure and for further inspection. 'Throughout the operation that was held at Jalan Bandaraya Miri, Jalan Marina Utama, Jalan Miri-Bypass, Jalan Tanjung Lobang, and Jalan Canada Hill, 30 individuals were checked, and a total of 61 PDRM (K) 257 summonses were issued for various traffic offences,' he said in a statement.
