Government Approves Recognition for NMMC CBSE Schools
Navi Mumbai: Two CBSE schools of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) received permanent recognition from govt, extending their affiliation with CBSE board until 2030. The schools, School No 93, CBSE School Seawood Sector 50, and School No 94, Koparkhairane Sector 11, were inaugurated on Aug 4, 2018, to provide quality English medium education to lower and lower middle-class students in Navi Mumbai civic area. The recognition marks a significant achievement for the NMMC Education Department. Municipal commissioner Dr Kailas Shinde, along with his team, played pivotal roles in securing this status, said an official from the education department of NMMC. Admissions for Class 1 began in the academic year 2018, with subsequent classes introduced each year through class rotation. Currently, both schools offer education from Class 1 to Class 8 and are equipped with smart TVs, CCTV cameras, computer rooms, digital classrooms, supplementary nutrition, sports facilities, and qualified teachers, said Shinde. School No 94, Koparkhairane, was honoured as a 'PM Shri School' at the central level, reflecting the high standards achieved. "The schools have witnessed increasing student enrolment and positive responses from the community," said an official. "This is a milestone in the quality educational journey of NMMC," stated Shinde. An atmosphere of enthusiasm prevails among students, bolstered by the schools' government recognition and the continuous efforts of the education department. Porn clip played on LED in MP classroom: Rajgarh school scandal triggers action; principal blames blackmail bid
BHOPAL: Students at PM Shri School in Suthalia, Rajgarh district, of Madhya Pradesh allegedly played a pornographic movie on a classroom LED screen during school hours, with a video of the act going viral. The footage shows around 13 students watching and recording the clip while no teacher was present. District Education Officer Karan Singh Bhilala has ordered an inquiry by the Biaora block education officer. Child Welfare Committee chairman Saket Sharma called the incident 'unfortunate' and said notices have been issued to the principal and DEO. Principal Hemant Yadav, who took charge in May, claimed the clip is from the previous academic session and accused a youth of trying to blackmail him for Rs 50,000 before releasing it online. Ranchi unites in spirit of well-being on International Yoga Day
1 2 Ranchi: From schools to public parks and campuses to correctional centres, Ranchi reverberated with deep breath and calm stretches as the city marked the 11th International Yoga Day with mass participation across institutions. The day-long celebrations, anchored around the theme "Yoga for One Earth, One Health", reflected Jharkhand's growing commitment to holistic wellness and mental peace. At the city's central venue, Birsa Munda Fun Park, hundreds joined the grand yoga practice session led by health minister Irfan Ansari. "Yoga is not merely physical exercise; it is a lifestyle rooted in Indian tradition. In these times of stress, yoga provides mental clarity and physical strength," he said, adding that chief minister Hemant Soren envisions a "Swasth Jharkhand" and yoga is a cornerstone in that direction. He highlighted that nearly 1,000 trained yoga instructors are active in Jharkhand's 745 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, and emphasised the govt's plans to build Dhanvantari AYUSH hospitals in Ranchi and East Singhbhum. The state is also running yoga training for students in classes 6–12. "If every citizen devotes even a few minutes daily to yoga, the result will be a healthier society," said Ansari. Union minister of state for defence, Sanjay Seth, present at the event, told students, "You are the power of this young nation. Let yoga help you shape your future and the country's destiny." The programme also featured a broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's address from Visakhapatnam. At Raj Bhavan, Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar joined schoolchildren and staff for a yoga session inside the Birsa Mandap. "Yoga is India's unique gift to the world. It harmonizes the body, mind, and soul," he said, noting PM Modi's global contribution in institutionalizing Yoga Day. CMPDI held yoga sessions across all its regional units and telecasted the PM's address.
