SANDAKAN: Assistant Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Isnin Aliasnih advised the public against falling for viral links circulating on messaging apps and social media offering applications for the People's Housing Project. (PPR) He said remaining vigilant is vital to avoid becoming victims of online scams. The public must verify PPR-related information directly with the Ministry, local councils or district offices, he said after officiating the 2025–2027 swearing-in and appointment ceremony for 18 new Beluran District Councillors on Thursday, attended by Assistant Rural Development Minister Datuk Samad Jambri. The new councilors are urged to prioritise community development and council performance. Isnin was proud of the achievements of various district councils, including Beluran, which reported higher revenue than last year. Samad hoped the newly appointed councilors would work hard together. 'Carry out your duties well, especially in helping the community and supporting the development of Beluran,' he said. Earlier, Isnin highlighted the importance of councilors in meeting the needs of the people. He was also proud that the Beluran District Council achieved a 5-Star rating in the Local Authority Star Rating System and the Human Resource Management Information System (SM2) for 2024. The council won a Silver Award in the Landscape Competition at the Sabah Landscape Architecture Awards (SLAA) 2024 and has maintained a Clean Audit Certificate with no remarks for its financial statements from 2008 to 2023.
