Blue Jeep hits man standing at busy Glasgow bus stop
The car was said to have collided with a man while he was standing at the bus stop on Dyke Road in Yoker. The incident occurred around 1.20pm, yesterday, May 19 in the West of the city. The Jeep then fled the scene as it failed to stop and sped away in the direction of Culbin Drive. The victim, a 41-year-old man, was said to have not needed any medical treatment following the ordeal. Police Scotland is appealing for information following the hit and run. Around 1.20pm on Monday, 19 May, 2025, a blue Jeep was involved in a collision with a pedestrian who was standing at a bus stop on Dyke — Police Scotland Greater Glasgow (@PSOSGreaterGlas) May 20, 2025 A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 1.20pm on Monday, 19 May, 2025, a blue Jeep was involved in a collision with a pedestrian who was standing at a bus stop on Dyke Road. "The car failed to stop and drove away in the direction of Culbin Drive, Glasgow. "The pedestrian, a 41-year-old man, did not require any medical treatment." Sergeant Iain Allison said: 'I am appealing to anyone who may have witnessed anything to please come forward. 'From our enquiries so far, we understand there were other members of the public at this bus stop and we are keen to speak with them as they may be able to assist with our investigation. 'In addition, anyone with dash-cam footage is asked to contact us as this may be significant. "Anyone with information should contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting reference 1809 of 19 May, 2025. "Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously."

'On duty means no pints': Glasgow cop runs into Still Game star
A Glasgow community police officer was pictured with a Still Game actor in the city. PC Barry, from Partick Community Policing Team, ran into Scottish actor and comedian Gavin Mitchell while at a bike marking event in Kelvin Way. On social media, the force shared a picture of the two, saying: "PC Barry, from Partick Community Policing Team, had a nice wee chat with 'Boaby the Barman' whilst carrying out a recent bike marking event in Kelvin Way. "It was lovely to meet you but, unfortunately, being on duty means no pints." Stolen car found months after disappearance in Glasgow
Police have found a stolen car months after it was first reported missing. Glasgow violence reduction officers came across the Audi A4 while carrying out patrols in Maryhill on February 1. The theft was initially reported in November. The vehicle has been seized and enquiries are ongoing. On Sat 1st Feb, Glasgow Violence Reduction Unit officers were carrying out proactive patrols when they observed this Audi A4 in the Maryhill area. Enquiries revealed this vehicle was reported stolen in November 2024.
