Marie Curie fundraiser at Morrisons in Haverfordwest
Marie Curie, the UK's leading end-of-life charity, is calling on Haverfordwest residents to volunteer for its Paint it Yellow fundraising campaign taking place at Morrisons stores this August. The fundraiser aims to support Marie Curie's work in providing care for people with terminal illnesses and their families. In Haverfordwest, collections will take place at the Morrisons store from August 14 to 17 and again from August 21 to 24. Anna Currenti, Marie Curie community fundraiser, said: "We believe everyone deserves expert end-of-life care and support. "Getting involved in the Paint it Yellow fundraiser and collecting at your local Morrisons is a brilliant and fun way to give back to our local community here in Haverfordwest whilst also helping us provide a vital service to those in the final chapter of their lives. "Volunteering is super simple, and our team will be on hand to support you throughout to make sure you have everything you need and ensure you have the best experience possible. "By giving up your time to collect this August, you will be helping Marie Curie continue to provide expert end-of-life care and support for people with any illness they are likely to die from. "If you're interested, we'd love to hear from you." A typical two-hour collection shift raises £85, which can help fund almost four hours of nursing care or five calls to the Marie Curie support line. The funds raised also support Marie Curie's free information services, including its helpline and webchat, which offer practical and emotional support on topics such as symptom management, day-to-day care, financial advice, and bereavement. Marie Curie is currently Morrisons' national charity partner. The three-year partnership aims to raise £15 million to improve end-of-life care. Marie Curie was chosen from more than 100 charities for the partnership. The UK's leading end-of-life charity is encouraging residents in Newport and Cwmbran to take part in its Paint it Yellow fundraiser by volunteering for collections at their local Morrisons stores this August. "Getting involved in the Paint it Yellow fundraiser and collecting at your local Morrisons is a brilliant and fun way to give back to our local community here in Newport and Cwmbran whilst also helping us provide a vital service to those in the final chapter of their lives." The collections will take place at Morrisons stores from August 14 to 17 and August 21 to 24. Marie Curie says every five minutes, someone dies without the care they need. A typical two-hour collection shift raises around £85, which can fund nearly four hours of nursing care or five calls to the Marie Curie Support Line.
