No DUN dissolution announcement July 28 - CM's Office
The Sabah State Assembly building. KOTA KINABALU (July 27): Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor will not be announcing the dissolution of the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) on Monday (July 28) to pave the way for the 17th Sabah State Election (PRN17). Public speculation had mounted following the conclusion of Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah's (Gagasan Rakyat) annual general convention at the Sabah International Convention Centre on Sunday. However, an official from the Chief Minister's Office confirmed that Hajiji is scheduled to depart for Jakarta on Monday to attend the annual Malaysia-Indonesia consultation, where matters including the Sulawesi Sea are expected to be discussed. Hajiji also confirmed to reporters on Sunday that he will be accompanying Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on a working visit to Indonesia starting on Monday. The official was responding to a viral report that claimed Hajiji would announce the dissolution of the State Assembly on July 28. The report further alleged that Hajiji would seek an audience with the Head of State on July 29 or 30 to submit the dissolution letter. It also claimed that the State Assembly Speaker would declare receipt of the dissolution notice on August 1, with the Election Commission (EC) being formally notified on August 4. According to the report, the EC is expected to meet and determine the election dates soon after, with the official announcement slated for August 11. It speculated the following timeline for PRN17: nomination on September 6, early voting on September 15, and polling day on September 20. Political analysts expect the dissolution of the state assembly after the Gagasan Rakyat congress. They speculate that Hajiji is likely to call for polls before National Day on August 31 or after Malaysia Day on September 16. Hajiji had said that he would consult the presidents of all Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) component parties before making any move to dissolve the DUN. The 16th Sabah DUN will be automatically dissolved on Nov 11 this year if it is not dissolved earlier. Under the law, the state election must be held within 60 days after the dissolution.

Hajiji confident GRS will secure new mandate in Sabah election
Hajiji addressing the Gagasan Rakyat delegates during the opening ceremony. KOTA KINABALU (July 27): Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor has reiterated his confidence that the people of Sabah will once again choose Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) to lead the state after the 17th State Election. He said his confidence stems from the strong track record of the GRS-led state government over the past five years in laying a solid foundation for Sabah's development. 'When we formed the government nearly five years ago, we began with determination and a clear vision— like an architect building his palace with strong pillars and a solid foundation. 'That is how we built this house of ours, from the aspirations and desires of the grassroots, driven by a strong local party spirit. We did not promise the moon and stars, but we promised to do our best for the people. 'I believe the people are wise enough to choose who is best suited to govern after PRN17. And I'm confident that, with the strong track record shown by this state government, the people will once again elect GRS to lead Sabah for the next five years. 'God willing, all development plans can be continued and realised for the sake of administrative continuity and sustained success,' he said in his keynote address at the Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Annual General Assembly held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on Sunday. The Gagasan Rakyat president and GRS chairman acknowledged that PRN17 will be the most critical test for the coalition, as well as the best opportunity to secure a fresh mandate to form a strong and stable state government. He said the development plans being implemented are not mere slogans but have already shown tangible results, as reflected in Sabah's positive economic growth, momentum that requires a strong public mandate to continue. He emphasised that the 17th state election cannot be treated as an ordinary election, as it concerns a responsibility that will determine the state's future and the fate of the next generation. 'Victory for GRS will give us a stronger voice in our efforts to develop Sabah. It will place us in a stronger position to assert and defend Sabah's rights. On the other hand, if we fail to form the government, we will have squandered a golden opportunity to put local political power at the forefront of Sabah's political landscape. 'It is not impossible that all the policies and plans currently running well could be overturned or cancelled, as we've seen before—and the ones who will suffer are the people, and the ones who lose out will be the state of Sabah,' he said. Hajiji said the GRS government has done its utmost to fulfil the mandate given by the people in the last state election by delivering promises that were achievable for the benefit of Sabahans. He also called urged the entire Gagasan Rakyat election machinery—from the top leadership, Women's Wing, Youth and Beliawanis Wings, down to the grassroots—to enter the the election battlefield to win the hearts of the people, especially the younger generation. 'Work wholeheartedly for our beloved party! Use the time we have to continue engaging with the people. Listen to their heartbeat, understand their needs, and prove that Gagasan Rakyat is more than just a name. 'The time has come for us to step into the arena with burning spirit and unwavering confidence to fight for the people and the future of our beloved state of Sabah. 'God willing, we will win this election and return with a mandate from the people that is stronger, fresher, more meaningful, and more dignified,' he said. 17th state election GRS hajiji noor lead mandate

Hajiji: Opposition spreading 'fabricated' issues ahead of Sabah election
Hajiji with GRS component parties' leaders, Gagasan Rakyat leaders and delegates of the convention. KOTA KINABALU (July 27): Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor has stressed that many of the issues raised by the opposition ahead of the 17th State Election are deliberately fabricated to mislead the people. He said various issues currently being circulated on social media have become one of the biggest challenges faced by the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) government in its efforts to retain power in the upcoming state election. According to him, these are part of the opposition's propaganda and deceitful tactics aimed at tarnishing GRS's reputation and manipulating public perception for political gain. 'The upcoming state election brings 1,001 challenges for us. The challenge is not because the opposition is strong or we are weak, but because we are faced with lies, falsehoods, fabricated stories and above all, slander. 'Today, social media has become the most popular medium for spreading propaganda. Every day, various stories, fake video clips, and false infographics are widely circulated. 'This is the opposition's method of attack in the digital realm and we must fight back with all our might! We must not allow lies, deceit, and slander to dominate or influence this election, as we saw happen in the past two elections. 'The issues being played up are not all true or accurate! Many are fabricated and designed to deceive the people,' he said. Hajiji said this in his keynote address at Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) annual general convention at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) on Sunday. The Chief Minister's firm stance came in response to various accusations and allegations thrown at GRS and its leaders as the state election looms. Hajiji, who is also the GRS chairman, said such tactics can lead to endless political chaos. 'Spreading slander and lies is the dirtiest form of politics, something we strongly condemn. We must not fall into the trap of playing such dirty politics. Not only is it wrong and a major sin, but any party that wins through slander and lies will not last, because eventually, the truth will come to light,' he said to the more than 3,000 delegates attending the convention. In his speech, Hajiji highlighted that GRS had achieved many successes as a responsible, trustworthy, and hardworking government focused on bringing progress and transformation to the state and its people. Reflecting on the past five years of governance, building GRS, and the formation of Gagasan Rakyat, he said Sabahans can now see a 'home' built upon shared struggles, sincerity, dreams, and aspirations. The Gagasan Rakyat President said that while his party is still relatively young, it is backed by seasoned leaders. 'The members of Gagasan Rakyat are no ordinary individuals, they are battle-hardened political warriors, with vast experience, calmness, and resilience in the face of challenges, having endured both the ups and downs of political life while defending principles and dignity. 'As veteran politicians, we are experienced defenders and fighters! Our past struggles, combined with the great journey through GRS and Gagasan Rakyat, have shaped us into politically mature individuals, rich in experience, ideas, knowledge, and both political and governance acumen. 'With this in mind, we no longer need to feel inferior or hesitant in the face of outside politicians, especially the opposition or those who are anti-government and act as if they know everything,' he said. Meanwhile, Hajiji said that as part of the GRS-led government, Gagasan Rakyat and other coalition partners had successfully completed a full term in office with commendable achievements. He added that despite facing challenges, trials, and constant attacks by the opposition who often belittle the government's efforts by branding it as weak and incompetent, the results GRS has delivered cannot be denied. He pointed out that when such narratives failed to shake public confidence or tarnish the government's image, political opponents resorted to even dirtier tactics by spreading propaganda, lies, and slander. 'I am aware that there are those who envy us, jealous of our success and achievements. They want to see us weak and divided. They aim to shame and bring down our dignity through various accusations, defamation, and slander widely spread to deceive the people. 'They will not stop spreading propaganda and lies! They are our enemies…enemies who want to see us fall, break, and lose this election. They will continue to attack and belittle our hard work and efforts,' he said. For this reason, he called on all GRS members and leaders to remain cautious and vigilant against covert efforts to undermine the government and its leadership. 'I believe all of you know what I mean. This is my sincere reminder: let us take good care of GRS. GRS is our home, our shelter, and the place where we chart our political struggle,' he said. 17th state election fabricated hajiji noor issues lead opposition

Sabah among top five states in projects and programmes completion
Hajiji chairing the MTPNg meeting at Menara Kinabalu on Thursday. KOTA KINABALU (July 24): Sabah is among the top five states in the country in terms of development projects and programmes completion, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Noor. Based on the MyProjek report, he said a total of 1,271 projects, comprising 396 continuity projects and 876 new ones are being implemented this year in Sabah. 'Of the figure, 1,171 projects or RM5.584 billion are physical projects while another 100 or RM355.24 million are non-physical projects,' he said. 'I urge everyone to step up to ensure Sabah achieves the best in terms of projects or programmes implementation in Malaysia,' he said when chairing the State Development Action Council (MTPNg) meeting at Menara Kinabalu here on Thursday. Despite the good performance, the Chief Minister emphasized that it should not be an excuse to become complacent and slow down the momentum in monitoring government programmes or projects. 'Instead, it should serve as an indicator for us to work harder to improve and complete every programme and project more swiftly, accurately, and in an orderly manner, ultimately bringing benefits to all the people,' he said. Hajiji said the implementation of programmes and projects should not solely fall on the shoulders of one agency, rather all agencies and ministries should play a significant role in ensuring their success. The Chief Minister said the State Government has also made efforts to strengthen the state's financial governance by enhancing financial management procedures and guidelines. This is carried out through the evaluation and consideration of procurement procedures as well as the appointment of concessions as a mechanism to address development issues in the state, he said. 'In addition, each agency or ministry must monitor more frequently the disbursement of allocated funds to ensure they are fully utilised and benefit the people. 'Payments to contractors and consultants must also be made promptly, accurately, and in an orderly fashion to ensure that project implementation in the state is not disrupted or delayed,' he said. The Chief Minister also reminded the council to ensure all pressing development needs are addressed swiftly. Hajiji said the State Government is also relentless in carrying out initiatives under the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya Development Plan to implement income enhancement and productivity improvement programmes to address the poor and hardcore poor issues, which is dynamic. 'Through these initiatives, we are not only helping to increase income but also strive to assist targeted groups to get out of poverty. 'Our concern is also evident through our relentless efforts and hard work in ensuring that every national or state agenda is adhered to, improved upon, and further enhanced,' he said. Hajiji said that the continuous provision of needs and facilities to the people, through the upgrading of public amenities, basic facilities, social infrastructure, and social service assistance, has provided multiple benefits to the poor in Sabah. In addition, he stated that the Human Capital and People's Well-Being thrust in the Hala Tuju SMJ development plan also focuses on developing the potential of the people through education, training, and social well-being. 'This includes initiatives to improve living standards, provide educational opportunities, and comprehensively empower human capital, while also educating the society to be more aware and inclined to participate in or contribute to the implementation of programmes that benefit target groups such as the poor and hardcore poor,' he said.
